Benefits of hiring pro-wedding photography

When you hire a specialist wedding photographer in The-Platt, the images you are presented with at the end will be of the highest quality and taken with the best photography equipment available.

As well as a wealth of knowledge and experience, wedding photographers in The-Platt have access to premium photography equipment and software to enable them to capture the best wedding pictures possible.

The equipment such as cameras, are just a part of what it takes to capture great wedding photographs. Camera phones are pretty amazing these days and many people are tempted to try and save money by using them for their wedding photos. This could probably be one of the biggest mistakes you make. Everyone wants beautifully composed and captured photographs of their wedding day. Let me explain a bit more about how a wedding photographer in The-Platt can add value to your photos and why it’s worth paying for them.

Experts with their camera gear and a host of external factors, such as weather conditions. A photographerís resultant images will not be as impressive as they could be if they don’t have a variety of camera lenses and the knowledge and skills to use them, together with various lighting options. Professional wedding photographers have more photographic equipment in their armoury and also have more experience using different setups to capture stunning images. Although DSLR cameras are available to anyone, it takes experience and proficiency to capture the best possible photos and get the most out of any camera. The types of camera equipment being utilised is important, but just as important is the skill of the photographer that is using them. What you need to get the best wedding photography experience is high end, appropriate camera equipment and a seasoned wedding photography professional who knows how to use it to its full potential. The skill of the photographer includes being able to take great photos in diverse lighting scenarios, depending on the weather, or the lighting at the wedding event venues.

Photographerís Roles

A professional wedding photographer in The-Platt is far less likely to be distracted by situations of the day than a family member or relative. A relative will likely expect to enjoy the day and become part of it, whereas a professional photographer will know that their role is very clearly defined.

A photographer wonít be off-duty, drinking alcohol or eating cake when they should be capturing an important shot. They will be concentrating on the job of getting the best possible pictures they can for your wedding.

Wedding guests are also far more likely to respond to a professional, paid wedding photographer than they would be to a relative barking orders. When family members are taking control of a family photo session it tends to be taken less seriously.

The Photography Style

If you have in mind a particular photographic style, then you should hire a professional that is an expert in that area or style. If you want to ask an amateur photographer, the chances are that theyíre not familiar with the differences between traditional, contemporary, fine art, or photojournalistic styles.

Can an amateur really deliver the pictures that are going to inspire you forever? Often, this is not the case. Have a long think about this and make sure your wedding photographerís style is in sync with yours. Once you have a style in mind, hire a photographer that can picture what it is you want.

A Reliable and Communicative Professional

A professional photographer is normally a much better choice than an amateur photographer or enthusiast and weíve already touched on a few other reasons so far. You shouldnít underestimate the wealth of experience the professional brings in dealing with the various challenges of the big day.

A professional will be able to carry the wedding party along and subtly communicate where your guests need to be. They will use body language and verbal messages, without imposing on your guests, to run through the necessary formalities whilst enhancing the celebration of your wedding day in The-Platt. Getting the perfect picture often involves striking a balance between being distant, but also being encouraging and supportive, humorous and amateurs rarely have the skills to do it.

Professional Wedding Photographers Provide More

Of all the people around you on your wedding day, your wedding photographer will probably be with you most. The wedding photographer will take preamble shots at the start of the day, shots at the venue, pictures at the reception and perhaps even pictures as you leave the venue at the end of the day.

Your wedding photographer is always near you, having been engaged to capture the emotion and style of your day in its entirety. If theyíre good at their job, youíll hardly notice theyíre there. Your photographer will notice if there are untucked shirts or jackets missing in photos, as they will have a keen eye for every detail.

They will be there to inform you of this and help you try to fix it. Your wedding planner will not be your shadow all day in The-Platt, but your photographer will. The photographer will help the wedding party be where they need to be, when they need to be and to be as calm as they should be.

Patience

Itís really important that you hire a wedding photographer that puts you at ease. Youíre going to be spending a lot of time with this person on your wedding day. The person you have decided on needs to be the right one.

The photographer should have a great mix of patience, empathy and skills of persuasion, as well as technically superb. They need to go with the flow and be able to make your personality shine brightly on your special day in The-Platt. A good photographer will remain balanced and relaxed even throughout the many challenges during the day. An experienced wedding photographer will flow with the event and will be quick to adapt, always remaining professional.

What to Expect from Your Wedding Photographer?

Often people have never been in front of a professional camera before their wedding day. This can cause anxiety, especially if you are camera shy or tend to look awkward in photographs.

If you have spent a bit of time selecting the right wedding photographer for you, the photographer in The-Platt will do a few things in order to make the process better.

Promptness and Professionalism

Professionalism will shine through during your research into a photographer, while checking out their reputation, their enthusiasm for photography and their portfolio itself. Your photographer should be friendly, polite, punctual and appropriately dressed for the event. Your photographer should get to your wedding venues earlier than the guests so that they can get a feel for the environment; they will probably have been to some of the venues already in order to understand the limitations and possibilities.

Rehearsals for the Wedding Day

In many cases, church wedding ceremonies have a rehearsal during the week before the wedding. The wedding photographer ask to come to the wedding day rehearsal to scout the location and to find out from the Vicar where they should be standing throughout the service. This discussion normally happens on the day of the wedding in The-Platt, with the registrar, in the case of a civil ceremony.

The Big Wedding Day

Your photographer will be there to take pictures of bridal presentations, or at whatever time you have agreed beforehand. He wonít interrupt at any point during the day but will be with you throughout. Itís crucial to the team at Jeff Woodall photography that every precious memory is captured on camera and that we remain unobtrusive, so the day can play out naturally; we are of course available for any questions and we strive to raise the spirits of everyone in the party. The goal at Jeff Woodall photography is to ensure that every precious moment is captured, but to remain unobtrusive and in the background until such a time as you have questions to answer, or you need some help.

At a certain time in the evening, usually after the first dance, your photographer will approach you to see if thereís anything else you would like him to capture. The backup process will begin once your photographer has completed their work. Every photo will be stored on a reliable backup storage device and kept safe until such a time as the photos have been through the full editing process and have been delivered to you to your satisfaction. We fully understand that your photographs are precious and need to be looked after.

Getting Your Wedding Photos Edited

Editing is a large part of the work and will be done in the days following the wedding in The-Platt. At the first stage, all images are checked to select the ones that best tell the story of the day. The editing of the digital photographs then begins with a light touch approach that ensures a subtle process of enhancement.

The images that Jeff Woodall photography produce are always beautifully sharp. Some editing work is carried out as required, mainly consisting of colour balancing and cropping where necessary. Various effects can be achieved during the post processing of your images, including monochrome conversions.

Once through the editing process, the images are exported to both USB and an online password protected gallery, for viewing by everyone that you want to give access. Weíll provide you with all the instructions you need for how to access the online gallery and how to share it with your family and friends and we’ll also send you the USB stick with easy to use instructions on how to share your photos online.

Client support - follow-up

Jeff Woodall photography will always be on hand, accessible to talk about wedding photo album options and the design of wedding photo books if you so require them. You probably have decided beforehand whether you wish to opt for a digital photo book album, the styles and colours etc., but it won’t be a short time after the ceremony that you decide which images you would like it to contain.

Your photographer will guide you through how many photos to choose and how best to tell the story and we’ll probably suggest around 80 photos. The design of the album is then carried out by your photographer.

The shoot duration in The-Platt

Generally, each assignment the photographer takes will be priced up largely based on the anticipated hours it will take. I often use this for portrait and events but in terms of weddings, I have simplified the process to a large extent, due to the flexible nature of the day and the fact that each wedding is quite different and difficult to predict in terms of exact timings.

I used to offer a variety of wedding packages in The-Platt, just as many photographers still do, such as ëPlatinumí, ëGoldí, ëSilverí and ëBronzeí. When you start adding extra options, wedding album packages, design and other things it can get quite complicated. I now offer a full day for a fixed price. Obviously, this is within reason, but I tend to arrive well early to get shots of getting ready and to remain long after the first dance, because there is still additional photographic value to be had. We want pricing to be clear and transparent and don’t want to have to bill you for extra hours after the event, because things ran on and your ëSilverí package didn’t cover it. If your wedding destination is a long way away, weíll need to negotiate expenses for accommodation, flights, fuel and food.

What are the differences between all these different styles?

Fine Art Photography

Similar to photojournalistic photography, fine art photographers rarely take traditional shots. Rather, their pictures are captured through an artistic appreciation of events, elements and people, accented with the use of stunning lighting. Fine Art photographers in The-Platt have a flair for the dramatic and always looking for the artistic side when composing and staging their photos, often using different filters, including black and white.

Vintage Style Photography

The diversity and popularity of vintage photo filters has helped to drive this style of photography. More and more weddings are seeing photographers using a vintage photography style. With vintage images there is certainly a timeless quality that can stir nostalgic emotion, which may be the cause of such an increase in the appeal of this artistic style. The use of colour filters and lighting can help to transform images into works of art during the process of capturing images of a vintage theme in The-Platt.

Traditional or Classical

With traditional or classical photography, nearly every picture is considered to be a posed portrait, even those moments that may appear to be more spontaneous. This won’t make the photograph appear forced or posed, but it’s likely that few spontaneous ëaction shotsí will be included in the mix. The wedding ceremony will be captured with the aim of taking pictures that are artistic and functional, but perhaps driven less by drama or emotion.

Photojournalistic or Reportage

Similar to a documentary style, photojournalism photography is about recording the event, rather than orchestrating them. With this type of photography, you’ll get the happy shots of guests together during the day, as well as more spontaneous and candid photos; the obligatory group shots and the formal bride and groom photos will of course also be included. The photojournalistic wedding photographer tells the story of the day, using a mix of close-up and candid shots, showing spontaneous reaction and recording the atmosphere of the event , rather than orchestrating the scenes.

Black and White (Monochrome)

This can be an effective way to present classic, timeless images. Many clients appreciate how the nostalgia and mood of images can be enhanced by removing colour. It really comes down to what you prefer. By using monochrome techniques, you can really bring out the essence of the subject of a photograph, although not everyone likes this style. Black and white images can be effective in portraying an atmospheric, or nostalgic and timeless feel, that is sometimes elusive in the colour version.

Colour Popped and HDR Techniques

Attention to detail during the shoot and excellent editing skills are required for this type of photography technique. Photographers who use HDR and colour popping techniques have the awareness, the creative eye and the technical photographic and editing capabilities to produce stunning images.
