Main Reasons Wedding Photography Is Important.

When you look at your list of priorities for your wedding in Broyle-Side, the wedding photographer may not necessarily be up there at the top.

Your wedding day is made up of lots of little precious memories and you need a professional wedding photographer with the ability to capture the essence of every little moment. Your wedding images will be the way you share your memories of the day with friends, family, children and future generations.

Your wedding photos will capture cherished memories that you can turn to time and time again. When your wedding day in Broyle-Side is over, your bridal shoes and gown will go into storage, the flowers will wither and be cleared away and the wedding cake will have been eaten. but you will have your wedding photographs forever and you will be looking over them and sharing them for years to come, so do ensure that you place enough importance on having them done properly!

Why a professional photographer is the right choice for your wedding

If your wedding day is just around the corner, then you have probably planned most of what you need to plan. The venue is all booked and planned, the cake is being made and your catering is sorted. You’ve picked your wedding gown, the centrepieces and the flowers.

Your mind is now turning to how you are going to capture the big day photographically. Perhaps you’re considering asking your nephew to do it since he’s an amateur photographer.

The money you save on the photographs could be used to cover other wedding expenses. This really is not the way that you should proceed.

Hiring a professional wedding photographer is the route you should take

The savings you make by using an amateur photographer are not worth the risk you are taking of being left with poor quality images to look back on. Remember, the glances, the smiles and the connections that happen at a wedding are subtle and to capture them photographically is a skill.

Key benefits of hiring wedding photography professionals

When you hire a specialist wedding photographer in Broyle-Side, the images you are presented with at the end will be of the highest quality and taken with the best photography equipment available.

A professional wedding photographer in Broyle-Side will be able to take great pictures, using a combination of skill, the latest digital equipment and software, giving you a superb finished product.

The quality of the photographs is determined by far more than just the camera that is taking them. The advent of camera phones has for some become a tempting way to try and save money on wedding photography. Many have found this to be a big mistake. Everyone wants beautifully composed and captured photographs of their wedding day. Let me explain a bit more about how a wedding photographer in Broyle-Side can add value to your photos and why it’s worth paying for them.

Knowledge with the latest camera equipment and the use of it in varying situations. A photographer won’t be able to do the best job possible if they don’t have the lighting options or lenses they need, or the skill to use them. Professional wedding photographers normally bring to the table a lot more skill, knowledge and equipment that they can use. DSLR cameras are accessible to most amateurs, but their full potential is only really realised in the hands of experienced pros. The types of camera equipment being utilised is important, but just as important is the skill of the photographer that is using them. What you need to get the best wedding photography experience is high end, appropriate camera equipment and a seasoned wedding photography professional who knows how to use it to its full potential. One of the key areas of skill is being able to use the equipment in different photographic lighting conditions, which will be necessary based on the weather and the available light available at your chosen venues.

The Photographerís Role

Another reason to hire a professional wedding photographer in Broyle-Side, rather than trusting a family member or a friend with the task, is it they will be less distracted. The professional photographer wonít be striving to enjoy the day and become part of the celebration, like a family member would want to do.

They wonít miss that crucial loving moment because theyíre eating cake, downing a beer, or chatting with wedding guests. They will be concentrating on the job of getting the best possible pictures they can for your wedding.

Another thing to consider is that guests are more likely to respect photoshoots when theyíre aware that the photographers are paid professionals. If a relative is trying to organise a photo session, it might end up far less organised than if a professional were doing it.

The Style of the Photography

In order to attain photos with a specific style, you need to engage a professional wedding photographer with the style to match. If you asked the majority of amateur photographers what the difference is between fine art, contemporary, traditional or photojournalistic photography styles, most wouldnít have a clue.

Can they deliver what you want the way you want it? Often, this is not the case. Have a long think about this and make sure your wedding photographerís style is in sync with yours. Once you have a style in mind, hire a photographer that can picture what it is you want.

Communication and Reliability

There are numerous other factors that contribute to a professional photographer being a better choice than an amateur photographer or enthusiast. Itís easy to understate how a professional photographer can contribute to the day; blending into the background when necessary and getting involved to smooth the schedule and push things along when time is getting tight.

A professional photographer will be able to communicate effectively with your guests and keep the photo sessions flowing, by effectively getting people where they need to be. They will use body language and verbal messages, without imposing on your guests, to run through the necessary formalities whilst enhancing the celebration of your wedding day in Broyle-Side. Amateur photographers, no matter how hard they try, will find it hard to identify the right approach to photo sessions, being distant to a degree, professional, humorous, encouraging and supporting guests through the process, in order to capture those memorable shots.

Professional Wedding Photographers Provide More

You spend more time with your wedding photographer than anyone else on your wedding day. The wedding photographer will take the initial shots during the day as you get ready and even travel to the church and will stay with you throughout the day and maybe until you leave for home or honeymoon.

You wedding photographer has been hired to capture every special moment of the day, whilst staying in the background unnoticed and will do that from start to end. If theyíre good at their job, youíll hardly notice theyíre there. The photographer is the one who notices every detail out of place such as lipstick stains on the teeth, or wonky button holes etc.

By fixing any little issues they can help you get better images. Your photographer will be your shadow all day in Broyle-Side, not your wedding planner. The photographer will help the wedding party be where they need to be, when they need to be and to be as calm as they should be.

The Epitome of Patience

Your wedding photographer should be professional and help you relax throughout the day. Consider the amount of time you will spend with the person on one of the most important days of your life. You want that decision to feel right at every moment of the day.

The professional photographer should have an incredible amount of patience, but also a good deal of empathy and subtle powers of persuasion. They need to flow through the day in Broyle-Side with you, capturing the best of your personality through the lens. An experienced professional will recognise that things rarely go exactly according to plan and will remain calm and effective throughout. An expert wedding photographer will adapt to the needs of the day and remain professional at all times.

What to Expect from Your Wedding Photographer?

The wedding day is often the first time that the couple has ever had a professional photographer taking shots of them. Those that are camera shy, or donít particularly like how they look in photos, can feel anxious and worried about having a camera pointing at them all day.

If you have done your homework by selecting a professional wedding photographer in Broyle-Side that matches your style, there are a few things that a wedding photographer will deliver to mark a satisfactory service.

Good Time Keeping and Professional Standards

If you hire people for the right reasons, such as their passion, reputation and having looked at their work, professionalism will be a given. Your wedding photographer should remain polite and courteous at all times, demonstrating a great attitude, good time keeping for every aspect of the schedule and remaining suitably attired throughout the day. By arriving early your wedding photographer will be able to scout the location and choose some excellent vantage points, although they will probably have visited your key event locations prior to the big day.

Wedding Rehearsals

In many cases, church wedding ceremonies have a rehearsal during the week before the wedding. The wedding photographer ask to come to the wedding day rehearsal to scout the location and to find out from the Vicar where they should be standing throughout the service. In the case of a civil ceremony, the wedding photographer will tend to have the discussion with the registrar on the same day as the wedding in Broyle-Side.

The Wedding

Your photographer will be there to take pictures of bridal presentations, or at whatever time you have agreed beforehand. You will have his undivided attention for the whole day, but without interrupting in any way. Itís crucial to the team at Jeff Woodall photography that every precious memory is captured on camera and that we remain unobtrusive, so the day can play out naturally; we are of course available for any questions and we strive to raise the spirits of everyone in the party. Sometime after the first dance, your wedding photographer will have a conversation with you to find out whether there are any more pictures that you would like taken. The Wedding Photo Editing Stage

The editing of wedding photographs takes place in the days after the wedding in Broyle-Side and is a crucial part of the wedding photography process. To tell the story of the wedding day the pictures need to capture the moments and so the first stage is going through all the photos and picking the best ones. Every selected photograph is edited using a light touch approach with only a few subtle edits.

The images that Jeff Woodall photography produce are always beautifully sharp. Images are cropped and have their colours balanced where necessary, but is limited to minor adjustments. Various effects can be achieved during the post processing of your images, including monochrome conversions.

The images are then exported and uploaded to an online password protected gallery, ready to be viewed by you, your friends and family as you wish. You will also be given all high resolution images on a USB stick. Sharing your wedding photos is great fun and so we provide you with the USB stick with high definition pictures and instructions of how to give access to your online gallery to friends and family.

Client support - follow-up

Jeff Woodall photography will be available for everything else you need; to talk about albums, or the types of bespoke wedding photo books that can be designed for you. It can take some time after the wedding ceremony to decide on which pictures to include in your digital photo book album, even if you have already decided on colours, styles and designs.

In most cases the photo book capacity will be around 80 images. The design process will then begin, as your photographer works on the album.

What do you get when you choose a wedding photography package

Here is a summary of what you will typically find in a wedding photography package. Some of the items below are highly important, whereas others you may not even need to talk about. Which events you want the photographer at.

You may want the photographer for the engagement party, the bridal shower, as well as the wedding ceremony and after-party. This would equate to how many days the photographer provides to you and will be early on in the decision-making process. You need to communicate which events you want captured to get them in the diary.

How much time you want for the shoot in Broyle-Side

Photographers will normally price up based on the likely time involved. At Jeff Woodall photography this is normally the way we price up events and portraits, but with weddings the process has been simplified because we understand that each day is completely different, timings are personal and we need to be flexible to capture the flow of your wedding events.

Many photographers (and I used to) offer a range of packages in Broyle-Side, such as ëPlatinumí, ëGoldí, ëSilveríand ëBronzeí. This way of doing things can get over complicated and even more so when additional options and extras are added to the mix. I now offer a full day for a fixed price. I don’t quibble over the extra hour we were there, due to late starts etc. We want pricing to be clear and transparent and don’t want to have to bill you for extra hours after the event, because things ran on and your ëSilverí package didn’t cover it. For wedding ceremonies that are a long way away and need significant travel or even flights, there would be some negotiation required over accommodation, fuel, flights, food and refreshments.

A Look at the Differences in Styles

Fine Art Photography

Just as with photography of a photojournalistic style, fine art photographers don’t normally take that many shots that are of a traditional nature. Rather, they photograph with an appreciation for the artistic side of people, the lighting options and the overall drama of the scene. Typically, a fine art photographer in Broyle-Side is highly skilled at creating and staging photos that are artistic and beautifully full of drama, applying filters to photos during editing, including often using monochrome conversions.

Vintage Style Photography

The diversity and popularity of vintage photo filters has helped to drive this style of photography. The market for couples who want vintage style weddings and photography has become quite large. Photographs of the Vintage style are timeless, old and has the power to stir emotions in people, which is perhaps why the style has become so appealing. Vintage photography in Broyle-Side is regarded as almost an art form, where the ordinary is transformed into stunning evocative images using colour filters and specialist lighting.

Traditional or Classical

In traditional or classical photography, each moment is captured as if it staged and a portrait, rather than spontaneous and ad hoc as they might seem. This won’t make the photograph appear forced or posed, but it’s likely that few spontaneous ëaction shotsí will be included in the mix. The aim of traditional photography is to capture moments with dignity and artistry, using many posed shots, including many formal images, under a range of lighting options.

Photojournalistic or Reportage

Similar to a documentary style, photojournalism photography is about recording the event, rather than orchestrating them. Group shots will be taken as required, as well as candid and spontaneous images. There are few formal ëgrip and griní roundups and guests smiling for the shot. The photo journalistic photographer is all about immortalizing the spontaneous reactions and emotions of the day as they happen, rather than orchestrating and staging their images.

Black and White (Monochrome)

With black-and-white photographs you get a timeless and classical feel to images. Black-and-white photos are appreciated by many for their ability to enhance the mood and atmosphere of the scene being depicted. It’s all about preference. By using monochrome techniques, you can really bring out the essence of the subject of a photograph, although not everyone likes this style. Removing the colour from images and creating black and white can evoke a certain ambience within photographs that colour sometimes lacks.

Colour Popped and HDR Techniques

When shooting photographs and using this photo technique, each shot is rather complex with lots of elements to consider and the editing process is equally detailed. Photographers who use HDR and colour popping techniques have the awareness, the creative eye and the technical photographic and editing capabilities to produce stunning images.
