The benefits of having a professional wedding photographer

When you hire a specialist wedding photographer in Barcombe-Cross, the images you are presented with at the end will be of the highest quality and taken with the best photography equipment available.

A professional wedding photographer in Barcombe-Cross will be able to take great pictures, using a combination of skill, the latest digital equipment and software, giving you a superb finished product.

The equipment such as cameras, are just a part of what it takes to capture great wedding photographs. The quality of the cameras on smartphones these days makes it very tempting to turn to them for wedding photography. This could probably be one of the biggest mistakes you make. Everyone desires photographs that are skillfully composed and expertly captured for their wedding day. Let’s take a look at some of the main benefits of having a professional in Barcombe-Cross with professional photography equipment, so that you can understand what you are actually paying for with a professional wedding photographer.

Camera equipment expertise, as well as being able to deal with indoor and outdoor lighting. The photographerís performance will be impaired by not having a variety of lenses, lighting options and also by not being skilled in their use. A professional wedding photographer is preferred because of their skill, expertise and also the equipment they use. A DSLR camera can be purchased by anyone almost certainly, but the full potential of this camera can only be unlocked by experienced professionals. The person using the equipment and the quality of equipment being used are equally important. The ideal situation is that you have an expert photographer who can use top of the range equipment to its full potential. One of the key areas of skill is being able to use the equipment in different photographic lighting conditions, which will be necessary based on the weather and the available light available at your chosen venues.

The Photographerís Role

When you hire a professional wedding photographer in Barcombe-Cross, you can expect their full attention, whereas with a friend or family member theyíre far more likely to become distracted. The professional photographer wonít be striving to enjoy the day and become part of the celebration, like a family member would want to do.

A professional photographer wonít be tempted to chat with guests, grab a quick beer, or be first in line for cake when they should be taking an important shot. Every moment theyíre there, their focus will be on unobtrusively capturing the best possible images that they can of the event.

Another thing to consider is that guests are more likely to respect photoshoots when theyíre aware that the photographers are paid professionals. If you have a member of your family taking photos of everyone, guests might not take the photo sessions so seriously.

The Photographic Style

If you have in mind a particular photographic style, then you should hire a professional that is an expert in that area or style. If you asked the majority of amateur photographers what the difference is between fine art, contemporary, traditional or photojournalistic photography styles, most wouldnít have a clue.

Can an amateur photographer capture photos the way you want them? Often, they wonít be able to. Take some time to consider what you want and then ensure that the photographer you use is able to capture the style that you want. Once you have in mind what you want to achieve, hire a professional who gets it.

Communication Skills and Timeliness

There are many more reasons that a professional photographer is a better choice than using a relative or enthusiast. Itís easy to underestimate the degree of experience a professional brings to the day and how they can contribute to it going smoothly, in spite of the various inevitable challenges.

A professional wedding photographer will be able to communicate effectively and persuasively with guests to ensure they are where they need to be. They will use body language and verbal messages, without imposing on your guests, to run through the necessary formalities whilst enhancing the celebration of your wedding day in Barcombe-Cross. An amateur photographer, no matter how much effort they put in, will not be able to maintain a balance between the necessary distance, humour, intimacy and support while still getting the perfect shots.

If You Want More, Use Professional Wedding Photographers

Of all the people around you on your wedding day, your wedding photographer will probably be with you most. They will be with you from the preamble shots all the way to the departure.

You wedding photographer has been hired to capture every special moment of the day, whilst staying in the background unnoticed and will do that from start to end. If they know what theyíre doing, you wonít even notice them. Your photographer will notice if there are untucked shirts or jackets missing in photos, as they will have a keen eye for every detail.

Your photographer will help you try and fix anything that could spoil a quality photo. The planner of your wedding will be with you for far less of the day in Barcombe-Cross than your photographer will. The experience of the photographer will help to ensure that the wedding party know where they are going and when and help to alleviate any anxiety or emotions as they arise.

The Epitome of Patience

As a couple, you need to hire a professional photographer that you are comfortable with. Consider the amount of time you will spend with the person on one of the most important days of your life. You want that decision to feel right at every moment of the day.

The professional photographer will have to be technically skilled, with an added mix of patience, experience and understanding. They need to flow with you and help the lens to capture your personality at its best throughout your special day in Barcombe-Cross. A good photographer will remain balanced and relaxed even throughout the many challenges during the day. An experienced wedding photographer will flow with the event and will be quick to adapt, always remaining professional.

What You Can Expect from a Wedding Photographer?

Often people have never been in front of a professional camera before their wedding day. If you donít like the way you look in photographs, this can prove to be a fairly stressful situation.

If you have done your homework by selecting a professional wedding photographer in Barcombe-Cross that matches your style, there are a few things that a wedding photographer will deliver to mark a satisfactory service.

Do you need a quality, friendly and relaxed professional photographer for your Wedding? Give me call today.

A Professional Attitude and Good Time Keeping

Professionalism comes naturally if you hire someone based on their reputation and passion. Itís important that the wedding photographer you choose gets there on time, has a great attitude and gets on with people. Your photographer should get to your wedding venues earlier than the guests so that they can get a feel for the environment; they will probably have been to some of the venues already in order to understand the limitations and possibilities.

Wedding Rehearsals

Church weddings tend to have a rehearsal date within a week of the main event. Your photographer may want to find out from the Vicar where they should stand during the vows and which vantage points wedding photographers normally use in the church. In the case of a civil ceremony, the wedding photographer will tend to have the discussion with the registrar on the same day as the wedding in Barcombe-Cross.

The Wedding

Your wedding photographer will tend to arrive to take photos of the bridal presentations, the timings will have been agreed. He will remain with you for the whole day, without interrupting, obstructing or in any way affecting the flow of the day. Jeff Woodall photography will be poised to capture all of the beautiful moments through the day, without intruding in any way. The goal at Jeff Woodall photography is to ensure that every precious moment is captured, but to remain unobtrusive and in the background until such a time as you have questions to answer, or you need some help.

At some point in the night, often after the first dance, your wedding photographer will check with you to find out if thereís anything else you would like to be pictured. The backing up process will begin if you are happy for your photographer to call it a day. Every photo will be stored on a reliable backup storage device and kept safe until such a time as the photos have been through the full editing process and have been delivered to you to your satisfaction. We never underestimate the value of your photographs.

The Editing of Wedding Photographs

Editing is a crucial stage in the wedding photography process and will be completed within the days that follow the event in Barcombe-Cross. The first step is to select the best images that tell the story of your wedding. The selected photographs go through a light touch approach that enhances them subtly.

The images that are captured by Jeff Woodall photography are always crisp and sharp. The pictures that require a little work are edited for colour balance and size. Various effects can be achieved during the post processing of your images, including monochrome conversions.

The photos are then ready to be exported from the photo editing suite into an online password protected gallery, as well as uploaded to a USB stick and delivered to you, ready for sharing on social media and for printing. Sharing your wedding photos is great fun and so we provide you with the USB stick with high definition pictures and instructions of how to give access to your online gallery to friends and family.

Follow-up client support

Jeff Woodall photography will be available for everything else you need; to talk about albums, or the types of bespoke wedding photo books that can be designed for you. It can take some time after the wedding ceremony to decide on which pictures to include in your digital photo book album, even if you have already decided on colours, styles and designs.

You’ll probably be asked to pick your favorite 80 photographs that depict the story of your day and you can ask your photographer any questions to guide you on this. The design of the album is then carried out by your photographer.

You need to decide whether you want the photographer at your engagement party and bridal shower, whether the photographer stays for the after-party and of course what time he arrives at the wedding ceremony. This decision will dictate how many days you have for the photographer and will be made early on in your planning stages. The events you want to be captured will be communicated.

How many hours of shooting in Barcombe-Cross

Each assignment a photographer takes is normally broken down into a number of hours. Although we tend to use this pricing method for most events and for portrait shoots, the process has been simplified for our wedding packages, to fit the scheduling needs for each wedding and ensure that we remain flexible enough to go with the flow of your day.

Many photographers (and I used to) offer a range of packages in Barcombe-Cross, such as ëPlatinumí, ëGoldí, ëSilveríand ëBronzeí. When you start adding extras to these packages it all becomes a bit of a logistical nightmare to understand or work out the overall price. I find it works better to have a set price for a full day’s coverage. Iím not a clock watcher and won’t mind doing an extra hour or so. We donít want to bill you an extra hour or two after the wedding because it didn’t go exactly to schedule and the package you pay for didn’t have enough hours. If there is travel involved to the wedding ceremony there would need to be some negotiation over the expenses involved in terms of accommodation, fuel or flights, food and refreshments.

Wedding photography Services List

Below is a summary list of wedding photography services :

How Wedding Styles Really Differ

Fine Art Photography

Photojournalistic specialists and fine art photographers donít normally tend to shoot many purely traditional images. They prefer to take an artistic view and capture elements, events and people with that mindset, always looking for dramatic lighting and backgrounds. The Fine Art photographer in Barcombe-Cross prefers to pack their photos with art and drama, often using black and white as a filter.

Vintage Style Photography

Vintage image filters have become very popular and so this style of photography has quickly evolved. The market for couples who want vintage style weddings and photography has become quite large. Something about old, timeless photographs appeals to people, maybe itís the feeling of nostalgia which this style of photography evokes. Vintage photography done well in Barcombe-Cross, transforms ordinary images into artistic work of art using colour filters and various props and lighting tricks.

Traditional or Classical

In traditional or classical photography, each moment is captured as if it staged and a portrait, rather than spontaneous and ad hoc as they might seem. With traditional or classical wedding photography, it’s unlikely that you’ll get lots of action and movement in photos, but the images shouldnít feel unnaturally forced either. The wedding ceremony will be captured with the aim of taking pictures that are artistic and functional, but perhaps driven less by drama or emotion.

Photojournalistic or Reportage

Photojournalism photography focuses on the actual moments that happen, rather than staging them. With this type of photography, you’ll get the happy shots of guests together during the day, as well as more spontaneous and candid photos; the obligatory group shots and the formal bride and groom photos will of course also be included. Photojournalistic photographers prefer to capture spontaneous emotions and reactions, often by the use of close ups and candid techniques, they have a general philosophy of freezing that authentic moment in time, rather than creating orchestrated poses and scenes.

Black and White (Monochrome)

Black and White photographs often create a timeless and classic look. Although many people prefer colour images, others appreciate how removing that colour and by the skillfully use of post processing techniques, really create pictures that are packed with atmosphere. Everyone has a different preference. Monochrome images may not appeal so much to some people, but it can produce more compelling photos as it sometimes helps the context and the subject to shine through. Black and white images can be effective in portraying an atmospheric, or nostalgic and timeless feel, that is sometimes elusive in the colour version.

Colour Popped and HDR Techniques

This area of photography requires skill in techniques that involve shooting with a lot of attention to detail and the post processing becomes a little more complex too. The photographer chooses the appropriate moment with which to use these techniques, finally skillfully uses the right processing software to produce quality images with colours that pop and emphasises particular areas of a scene.
