Your wedding photo book will be revisited countless times over the years with your friends, your children and even perhaps your future grandchildren.

The photos of your wedding will rekindle memories as you look through them over and over again. When your wedding day in Lower-Dicker is over, your bridal shoes and gown will go into storage, the flowers will wither and be cleared away and the wedding cake will have been eaten. but your wedding photographs will remain with you, along with the memories, to reminisce, share and enjoy, so ensure that you take them seriously!

Why you should hire a pro-wedding photographer

You’ve probably got most of the planning done already if your wedding is fast approaching. Catering for the event is in hand, the wedding cake is chosen and the wedding venue is all booked. Your wedding dress is getting its final alterations, your flowers are all on order and the decorations and table centrepieces are all in hand.

Your mind is now turning to how you are going to capture the big day photographically. Perhaps you are considering the option of asking a relative to bring their amateur photography skills to your wedding.

The savings you make on the wedding photography costs could be handy in other areas. This is definitely a path you should avoid.

Hiring a professional wedding photographer is the route you should take

The benefits of hiring a professional photographer far outweigh the ultimate cost of having an amateur photographer taking your photos for free! The photos that are taken must capture those special seconds that mean the most to you.

Benefits of hiring pro-wedding photography

The photography equipment and software that a professional wedding photographer you hire in Lower-Dicker will use will ensure that you get the best quality images possible.

When you hire professional photographers for your wedding in Lower-Dicker, you get privileged access to the best photography knowledge and skills, together with the best equipment and software to produce the best quality pictures possible.

The equipment such as cameras, are just a part of what it takes to capture great wedding photographs. But for many, who perceive that smartphone cameras are amazing, it is really tempting to try and cut costs on your wedding photography. Many have found this to be a big mistake. Every wedding day deserves photographs that are captured skillfully, in the style of your choosing. Let me explain a bit more about how a wedding photographer in Lower-Dicker can add value to your photos and why it’s worth paying for them.

Experts with their camera gear and a host of external factors, such as weather conditions. A photographer is only as good as the lenses they use and the skills they possess and a full appreciation of lighting. Professional wedding photographers are better, not just because of their skill and experience, but also the equipment that they use. Although DSLR cameras are available to anyone, it takes experience and proficiency to capture the best possible photos and get the most out of any camera. The type of equipment used is crucial, but just as if not more important, is the person handling the equipment. In order to get your dream photos, you need high end camera equipment and a wedding photographer with the experience, talent and knowledge to use it appropriately to its full potential. One of the key areas of skill is being able to use the equipment in different photographic lighting conditions, which will be necessary based on the weather and the available light available at your chosen venues.

Photographerís Roles

Another very good reason to engage the services of a professional wedding photographer in Lower-Dicker is that theyíre going to be far less likely to become distracted than a family member or relative charged with capturing the dayís event. When you pay a professional photographer, theyíre there to do a job, whereas a family member is more likely to be looking to enjoy the celebrations.

They wonít miss that crucial loving moment because theyíre eating cake, downing a beer, or chatting with wedding guests. Their focus will be 100% on getting every possible moment captured on camera.

Another thing to consider is that guests are more likely to respect photoshoots when theyíre aware that the photographers are paid professionals. When family members organise a photo session, or an ad hoc photo opportunity, thereís a different dynamic to when a photographer sets up a professional shoot.

The Photographic Style

In order to get a specific photographic style, you need a professional photographer whose style matches what youíre looking for. The majority of amateur photographers would stare blankly if asked to tell you the difference between photojournalistic, traditional, fine art, or contemporary photographic styles.

Are you certain that theyíre going to be able to provide you with the photos that you dream of? Often, this is not the case. Take some time to consider what you want and then ensure that the photographer you use is able to capture the style that you want. Make sure that you hire a wedding photographer who can quickly comprehend exactly what it is you want to achieve.

A Reliable and Communicative Professional

A professional photographer really is a better choice than going for an amateur relative or enthusiast friend in most cases and there are lots of other reasons why. You shouldnít underestimate the wealth of experience the professional brings in dealing with the various challenges of the big day.

A professional wedding photographer will get people where they need to be for each photo and plan all the photo sessions to ensure no one gets missed out, or no opportunity is missed. They will use body language and verbal messages, without imposing on your guests, to run through the necessary formalities whilst enhancing the celebration of your wedding day in Lower-Dicker. Maintaining a balance between holding a distance as a photographer but getting involved to encourage people is a very difficult balance to strike and very few amateurs have the experience to do it.

You Get More with Professional Wedding Photographers

Of all the people around you on your wedding day, your wedding photographer will probably be with you most. They will be with you from the preamble shots all the way to the departure.

You wedding photographer has been hired to capture every special moment of the day, whilst staying in the background unnoticed and will do that from start to end. If theyíre good at their job, youíll hardly notice theyíre there. The photographer is the one who notices every detail out of place such as lipstick stains on the teeth, or wonky button holes etc.

By fixing any little issues they can help you get better images. Your wedding planner will spend far less time with you during the day in Lower-Dicker than your photographer will. The photographer will help the wedding party and guests be where they need to be and help to calm any emotions.

A Patient Demeanor

Your wedding photographer should be professional and help you relax throughout the day. The amount of time youíre going to spend with this person on your special day really is significant. The person you have decided on needs to be the right one.

The professional photographer should have an incredible amount of patience, but also a good deal of empathy and subtle powers of persuasion. With the camera, they need to ensure that you and your personality shines through on your wedding day in Lower-Dicker. A professional will remain calm and in control even when things donít always go exactly to plan. A good wedding photographer will remain professional at all times and will be flexible, flowing and adapting to changing circumstances.

What to Expect from Your Wedding Photographer?

In many cases the day of the wedding is the first time people are in front of a professionalís camera. If you donít like the way you look in photographs, this can prove to be a fairly stressful situation.

Having spent some time considering the best professional wedding photographer in Lower-Dicker to match the styles you want, you can now rest assured that they will do certain things to make the process run smoothly.

Professional Conduct and Prompt Time Keeping

Professionalism comes naturally if you hire someone based on their reputation and passion. Your wedding photographer should be punctual, personable and on time for your wedding schedule, as well as dressed appropriately. Your photographer should get to your wedding venues earlier than the guests so that they can get a feel for the environment; they will probably have been to some of the venues already in order to understand the limitations and possibilities.

Wedding Rehearsals

Church wedding ceremonies normally have the custom of a wedding rehearsal a day or two before the wedding. Your photographer may want to attend this to check the location and to have a brief discussion with the Vicar about where to stand during the service. This discussion normally happens on the day of the wedding in Lower-Dicker, with the registrar, in the case of a civil ceremony.

The Day Arrives – the Wedding

The bridal presentations will be captured by your photographer, he will arrive as agreed. He will remain with you for the whole day, without interrupting, obstructing or in any way affecting the flow of the day. The goal at Jeff Woodall photography is to ensure that every precious moment is captured, but to remain unobtrusive and in the background until such a time as you have questions to answer, or you need some help. The goal at Jeff Woodall photography is to ensure that every precious moment is captured, but to remain unobtrusive and in the background until such a time as you have questions to answer, or you need some help.

Sometime after the first dance, your wedding photographer will have a conversation with you to find out whether there are any more pictures that you would like taken. The backup process will begin once your photographer has completed their work. Every photo will be stored on a reliable backup storage device and kept safe until such a time as the photos have been through the full editing process and have been delivered to you to your satisfaction. We understand just how precious your photographs are to you.

Wedding Photo Editing

The editing of wedding photographs takes place in the days after the wedding in Lower-Dicker and is a crucial part of the wedding photography process. The photographs need to tell the story of the wedding day and so the first stage is going through all the pictures and selecting the best ones. The editing of the digital photographs then begins with a light touch approach that ensures a subtle process of enhancement.

The images that are captured by Jeff Woodall photography are always crisp and sharp. Images are cropped and have their colours balanced where necessary, but is limited to minor adjustments. Some images will be converted to black and white and may have other styles applied as appropriate.

The pictures are then prepared and uploaded for viewing, by anyone you want to give access in an online password protected Gallery. They are also provided to you on a presentation USB stick. Instructions on how to access the gallery which you can share with friends and family will be sent to you along with a USB stick containing high resolution images that you can easily share online.

Here to help after event

We know that you may want to put your photos in wedding photo books or maybe looking for a special wedding album and Jeff Woodall photography will be available to discuss how best to present your images after the wedding. Early on you’ll probably decide if you want a digital photo book album and the different colours and styles that you will require, but it’ll probably take you a while after your wedding ceremony to decide which of the images you are going to want to include.

Typically the photographer will ask you to choose 80 or so images. The design of the album is then carried out by your photographer.

You’ll probably want the photographer for the wedding ceremony and some or all of the after-party but itís worth thinking about whether you want photos from the bridal shower and the engagement party too. This decision will dictate how many days you have for the photographer and will be made early on in your planning stages. Number of hours for the shoot in Lower-Dicker

Generally, a photographer will use time as one of the main methods to price an assignment. At Jeff Woodall Photography we tend to use this method of pricing for events and for portraits, but we understand that each wedding has a bespoke schedule and that we need to be flexible to go with the day and so we work a little differently.

Photographers often [I used to] have different packages in Lower-Dicker i.e. ëPlatinumí, ëGoldí, ëSilverí, ëBronzeí, etc. This way of doing things can get over complicated and even more so when additional options and extras are added to the mix. I now prefer to work on a fixed price for the full day’s coverage. I don’t quibble over the extra hour we were there, due to late starts etc. The last thing you want to hear after that, is that you have been billed for an extra hour, as you only paid for the ëSilverí package of eight hours and for various reasons things ran late. For wedding ceremonies that are a long way away and need significant travel or even flights, there would be some negotiation required over accommodation, fuel, flights, food and refreshments.

Wedding photography Services List

Below is a summary list of wedding photography services :

A Look at the Differences in Styles

Fine Art Photography

Similar to photojournalistic photography, fine art photographers rarely take traditional shots. They prefer to take an artistic view and capture elements, events and people with that mindset, always looking for dramatic lighting and backgrounds. The Fine Art photographer in Lower-Dicker prefers to pack their photos with art and drama, often using black and white as a filter.

Vintage Style Photography

Vintage photography is a style that has evolved and become increasingly more popular of late, helped by the emergence of vintage style filters. The number of weddings that are being photographed with a vintage wedding theme in mind, seems to be steadily growing. This style of photography can evoke feelings of nostalgia and the old and timeless nature of that style really seems to appeal to people. Vintage photography in Lower-Dicker is regarded as almost an art form, where the ordinary is transformed into stunning evocative images using colour filters and specialist lighting.

Traditional or Classical

With traditional or classical photography, nearly every picture is considered to be a posed portrait, even those moments that may appear to be more spontaneous. You’re less likely to get action shots with this type of photography, although every moment will be captured in a natural way that doesn’t feel forced or posed. The aim of traditional photography is to capture moments with dignity and artistry, using many posed shots, including many formal images, under a range of lighting options.

Photojournalistic or Reportage

Similar to a documentary style, photojournalism photography is about recording the event, rather than orchestrating them. The formal shots you would expect at every wedding, will be captured, as well as group and individual ëgrip and griní wedding guest shots. The photo journalistic photographer is all about immortalizing the spontaneous reactions and emotions of the day as they happen, rather than orchestrating and staging their images.

Black and White (Monochrome)

This style is excellent for timeless, classical, emotion-packed photographs. Black-and-white photos are appreciated by many for their ability to enhance the mood and atmosphere of the scene being depicted. Preference is what matters here. Some people really don’t like monochrome images, but black and white photographs can tend to enhance the feeling of atmosphere when done well, helping to focus attention on the subjects of the images. Black and white photographs have the capacity to really enhance the atmosphere of an image, that is sometimes lost in the colour option.

Colour Popped and HDR Techniques

Attention to detail during the shoot and excellent editing skills are required for this type of photography technique. The photographer chooses the appropriate moment with which to use these techniques, finally skillfully uses the right processing software to produce quality images with colours that pop and emphasises particular areas of a scene.
