The Importance of Wedding Photography.

There may well be things higher up on your list of priorities than hiring a wedding photographer in Iford, when it comes to planning your wedding.

However, it’s well worth bumping up your wedding photos so they are near the top of your list. You need to get a photographer in Iford booked well in advance and have a clear budget for your wedding images. It is vitally important that you hire a wedding photographer you can trust to capture the day with skill and expertise. When your children and future grandchildren ask you about your wedding, you’ll be able to tell the story of the day by showing them your wedding images.

The professional images of your wedding day will have the power to rekindle memories and the joyous feelings of your wedding as you browse through them over the years. When your wedding day in Iford is over, your bridal shoes and gown will go into storage, the flowers will wither and be cleared away and the wedding cake will have been eaten. but the photographs of your wedding will always be with you to share, enjoy, laugh and maybe cry over. So please take the time to find the right professional!

Why you should hire a pro-wedding photographer

If you’re getting married soon, you’ve probably done the majority of the necessary planning. The venue is all booked and planned, the cake is being made and your catering is sorted. Your wedding dress is perfect, your wedding theme is arranged and the flowers chosen.

Your mind is now turning to how you are going to capture the big day photographically. Perhaps you’ve spoken to your nephew about taking the photographs at your wedding.

The money you save on the photographs could be used to cover other wedding expenses. This is definitely a path you should avoid.

You should hire a professional wedding photographer

It’s a much better idea to have a professional photographer get it right, than save some money and have an amateur photographer miss those important big and little details! Remember, the glances, the smiles and the connections that happen at a wedding are subtle and to capture them photographically is a skill.

Some of the key benefits of professional wedding photography

When you choose to hire a professional wedding photographer in Iford the pictures you receive will be quality, in high resolution, captured with the best photography equipment and edited with skill, using professional editing software.

When you hire professional photographers for your wedding in Iford, you get privileged access to the best photography knowledge and skills, together with the best equipment and software to produce the best quality pictures possible.

The physical equipment such as cameras, is just part of the equation in terms of capturing the best photographic images. But for many, who perceive that smartphone cameras are amazing, it is really tempting to try and cut costs on your wedding photography. They often make a big mistake doing so. Everyone wants beautifully composed and captured photographs of their wedding day. Let me explain a bit more about how a wedding photographer in Iford can add value to your photos and why it’s worth paying for them.

Camera equipment expertise, as well as being able to deal with indoor and outdoor lighting. A photographer won’t be able to do the best job possible if they don’t have the lighting options or lenses they need, or the skill to use them. Professional wedding photographers tend to have much better equipment and much more experience in using a diverse range of setups. Anyone can buy a DSLR camera, but it takes great skill to unlock the potential of the equipment. Both the camera equipment and the photographer are equally important in creating and capturing great photos. In order to get your dream photos, you need high end camera equipment and a wedding photographer with the experience, talent and knowledge to use it appropriately to its full potential. This includes being able to take great pictures in different photographic lighting conditions, indoors and outdoors, with different natural and artificial light at the venue.

The Roles of Expert Photographers

One other very good reason to hire a professional wedding photographer in Iford, instead of using a relative, is that theyíre less likely to become distracted. A relative will likely expect to enjoy the day and become part of it, whereas a professional photographer will know that their role is very clearly defined.

They wonít miss that precious moment whilst chatting with wedding guests, having a beer or grabbing a slice of cake. Every moment theyíre there, their focus will be on unobtrusively capturing the best possible images that they can of the event.

Something else that is a factor is that wedding guests tend to respect photo opportunities much more when they are gently marshalled by professional photographers. When family members are taking control of a family photo session it tends to be taken less seriously.

Diverse Styles of Photography

If you are looking for photography that captures a certain style, then you should hire a photographer that is proficient in that style. Not many amateurs are familiar with the differences between photojournalistic, fine art, traditional or contemporary styles.

Are you certain that theyíre going to be able to provide you with the photos that you dream of? Often, they wonít be able to. Take some time to consider the photography styles you want to make sure that the wedding photographer you hire is in sync with you. Once you have a style in mind, hire a photographer that can picture what it is you want.

Reliability and Communication

A professional photographer is normally a much better choice than an amateur photographer or enthusiast and weíve already touched on a few other reasons so far. A professional photographer will have the experience to ensure that photo sessions remain within the schedule and do not detract from other parts of the day.

A professional wedding photographer will get people where they need to be for each photo and plan all the photo sessions to ensure no one gets missed out, or no opportunity is missed. They will be able to use signals and body language, as well as their voice, to get people where they need to be in a pleasant way, enhancing the atmosphere of your celebration in Iford. Amateur photographers find it incredibly difficult to maintain the necessary distance, humour, intimacy and support along with effectively communicating to get the perfect shot.

Expert Wedding Photographers Give You more

There arenít many people that you will spend more time on your wedding day than your wedding photographer. The wedding photographer will take preamble shots at the start of the day, shots at the venue, pictures at the reception and perhaps even pictures as you leave the venue at the end of the day.

Your photographer remains constantly around you, having been hired to capture every memory and every moment without being noticed. Good wedding photographers will only be noticed when they need to organise a photo session. Your photographer will ensure everything is just as it should be, by noticing the small things like wonky ties, or untucked shirts.

They will be there to inform you of this and help you try to fix it. The planner of your wedding will be with you for far less of the day in Iford than your photographer will. The photographer will help the wedding party and guests be where they need to be and help to calm any emotions.

Patience

Your wedding photographer should be professional and help you relax throughout the day. The amount of time youíre going to spend with this person on your special day really is significant. You want that decision to feel right at every moment of the day.

The professional photographer will have to be technically skilled, with an added mix of patience, experience and understanding. Your personality needs to be captured through the lens and itís their job to help you to be at ease throughout the day in Iford. A good photographer will remain balanced and relaxed even throughout the many challenges during the day. An expert wedding photographer is flexible and goes with the flow of the event, while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Your Wedding Photographer and What to Expect?

The wedding day is often the first time that the couple has ever had a professional photographer taking shots of them. As well as being anxious about the big day, having a camera pointed at you all day can make you feel even more uncomfortable, especially if you feel that photos donít generally flatter you.

Having spent some time considering the best professional wedding photographer in Iford to match the styles you want, you can now rest assured that they will do certain things to make the process run smoothly.

Do you need a quality, friendly and relaxed professional photographer for your Wedding? Give me call today.

Promptness and Professionalism

Professionalism comes naturally if you hire someone based on their reputation and passion. Your wedding photographer should remain polite and courteous at all times, demonstrating a great attitude, good time keeping for every aspect of the schedule and remaining suitably attired throughout the day. Your photographer should arrive early on the day, to scout the location having probably visited relevant locations several times already.

The Day Before the Wedding - the Rehearsal

Church wedding ceremonies normally have the custom of a wedding rehearsal a day or two before the wedding. The wedding photographer ask to come to the wedding day rehearsal to scout the location and to find out from the Vicar where they should be standing throughout the service. If you choose to have a civil ceremony, then it will most likely be a chat with a registrar on the day of the wedding in Iford.

The Wedding

Your photographer will be there to take pictures of bridal presentations, or at whatever time you have agreed beforehand. He wonít interrupt at any point during the day but will be with you throughout. The goal at Jeff Woodall photography is to ensure that every precious moment is captured, but to remain unobtrusive and in the background until such a time as you have questions to answer, or you need some help. Itís crucial to the team at Jeff Woodall photography that every precious memory is captured on camera and that we remain unobtrusive, so the day can play out naturally; we are of course available for any questions and we strive to raise the spirits of everyone in the party.

Sometime after the first dance, your wedding photographer will have a conversation with you to find out whether there are any more pictures that you would like taken. The backing up process will begin if you are happy for your photographer to call it a day. Jeff Woodall photography will keep all photos backed up on a storage device until they have been through the editing suite process and are delivered to your satisfaction. We understand just how precious your photographs are to you.

The Editing of Wedding Photographs

The editing of wedding photographs takes place in the days after the wedding in Iford and is a crucial part of the wedding photography process. To tell the story of the wedding day the pictures need to capture the moments and so the first stage is going through all the photos and picking the best ones. Every selected photograph is edited using a light touch approach with only a few subtle edits.

Jeff Woodall photography only use beautifully sharp images. The pictures are cropped as necessary and the colours are balanced. Some of the pictures may be converted to monochrome and other style filters may be applied to further enhance the overall effects of your images.

The photos are then ready to be exported from the photo editing suite into an online password protected gallery, as well as uploaded to a USB stick and delivered to you, ready for sharing on social media and for printing. Sharing your wedding photos is great fun and so we provide you with the USB stick with high definition pictures and instructions of how to give access to your online gallery to friends and family.

Client support - follow-up

Jeff Woodall photography will be available for everything else you need; to talk about albums, or the types of bespoke wedding photo books that can be designed for you. Even if you’ve set your mind to the style and design of your digital photo book album, it can take a bit of time after the wedding day to decide on which photos to include.

In most cases the photo book capacity will be around 80 images. Your photographer will then begin to design the album for you.

How much time you want for the shoot in Iford

Generally, a photographer will use time as one of the main methods to price an assignment. Each wedding is individual, with exact timings that differ and ad hoc things that happened during the day and so we work a little differently on wedding packages in order to remain flexible.

Photographers often [I used to] have different packages in Iford i.e. ëPlatinumí, ëGoldí, ëSilverí, ëBronzeí, etc. This way of doing things can get over complicated and even more so when additional options and extras are added to the mix. I find it works better to have a set price for a full day’s coverage. Iím not a clock watcher and won’t mind doing an extra hour or so. Travelling to and accommodation at weddings. In cases where weddings are overseas, or in remote locations, there would need to be some negotiation regarding fuel or flights, food and accommodation.

Wedding photography Services List

Below is a summary list of wedding photography services :

Some of the differences between wedding styles explained

Fine Art Photography

In the same way that photographers of a photojournalistic genre don’t tend to take traditional shots very often, fine arts photographers rarely do either. Rather, they photograph with an appreciation for the artistic side of people, the lighting options and the overall drama of the scene. Fine Art photographers in Iford have a flair for the dramatic and always looking for the artistic side when composing and staging their photos, often using different filters, including black and white.

Vintage Style Photography

This style of photography was borne partly from the popularity of vintage photo filters. The market for couples who want vintage style weddings and photography has become quite large. With vintage images there is certainly a timeless quality that can stir nostalgic emotion, which may be the cause of such an increase in the appeal of this artistic style. The use of colour filters and lighting can help to transform images into works of art during the process of capturing images of a vintage theme in Iford.

Traditional or Classical

Even apparently spontaneous shots are often treated as staged portrait pictures with traditional or classical photography. You’re less likely to get action shots with this type of photography, although every moment will be captured in a natural way that doesn’t feel forced or posed. The aim of traditional photography is to capture moments with dignity and artistry, using many posed shots, including many formal images, under a range of lighting options.

Photojournalistic or Reportage

Similar to a documentary style, photojournalism photography is about recording the event, rather than orchestrating them. The formal shots you would expect at every wedding, will be captured, as well as group and individual ëgrip and griní wedding guest shots. The photojournalistic wedding photographer tells the story of the day, using a mix of close-up and candid shots, showing spontaneous reaction and recording the atmosphere of the event , rather than orchestrating the scenes.

Black and White (Monochrome)

Black and White photographs often create a timeless and classic look. Black-and-white photos are appreciated by many for their ability to enhance the mood and atmosphere of the scene being depicted. You need to decide what you like. Monochrome images aren’t always liked by everybody, but using this style can really draw attention to particular aspects of the sceneís composition and subject matter. The extra contrast of black and monochrome images can really evoke a certain atmosphere that colour sometimes simply cannot.

Colour Popped and HDR Techniques

When shooting photographs and using this photo technique, each shot is rather complex with lots of elements to consider and the editing process is equally detailed. The photographer that uses HDR and colour popped techniques will use them sparingly, only with the right images, to maximise the impact of those colour popped or high dynamic scenes.
