Here Are the Reasons Why the Wedding Photography Is Vital

Hiring a wedding photographer might not be at the top of your list when it comes to planning for your big day in St-Helens.

Your wedding photography does however, deserve some of your time. You need to set a budget for it and get a professional in St-Helens booked well in advance. There are potentially so many precious moments during any wedding and so you need a wedding photographer who has the talent to both see and capture those moments. That takes a great deal of skill and experience. When your children and future grandchildren ask you about your wedding, you’ll be able to tell the story of the day by showing them your wedding images.

Your wedding photos will capture cherished memories that you can turn to time and time again. When your wedding day in St-Helens has come and gone, your wedding dress and shoes will be packed away, the flowers will be gone and your wedding cake will be no more. but the photographs of your wedding will always be with you to share, enjoy, laugh and maybe cry over. So please take the time to find the right professional!

Why you should hire a pro-wedding photographer

You’ve probably got most of the planning done already if your wedding is fast approaching. Catering for the event is in hand, the wedding cake is chosen and the wedding venue is all booked. Your wedding dress is getting its final alterations, your flowers are all on order and the decorations and table centrepieces are all in hand.

Your mind is now turning to how you are going to capture the big day photographically. Your uncle is a good amateur photographer and perhaps you’re considering asking him.

That would enable you to divert some of your budget to other areas of the wedding. You should definitely not go down this path.

Hiring a professional wedding photographer is the route you should take

It’s a much better idea to have a professional photographer get it right, than save some money and have an amateur photographer miss those important big and little details! Remember, the glances, the smiles and the connections that happen at a wedding are subtle and to capture them photographically is a skill.

The benefits of having an expert wedding photographer

When you choose to hire a professional wedding photographer in St-Helens the pictures you receive will be quality, in high resolution, captured with the best photography equipment and edited with skill, using professional editing software.

When you hire professional photographers for your wedding in St-Helens, you get privileged access to the best photography knowledge and skills, together with the best equipment and software to produce the best quality pictures possible.

The cameras are just part of the equation when it comes to taking fantastic photographs. But for many, who perceive that smartphone cameras are amazing, it is really tempting to try and cut costs on your wedding photography. This might be a huge mistake. Everyone wants beautifully composed and captured photographs of their wedding day. Let me explain a bit more about how a wedding photographer in St-Helens can add value to your photos and why it’s worth paying for them.

Experts with their camera gear and a host of external factors, such as weather conditions. A wedding photographer will not be able to produce fantastic pictures in all conditions if they don’t have the lenses for the situation, the lighting options, or don’t have the skill to use them. Professional wedding photographers tend to have much better equipment and much more experience in using a diverse range of setups. DSLR cameras are accessible to most amateurs, but their full potential is only really realised in the hands of experienced pros. The types of camera equipment being utilised is important, but just as important is the skill of the photographer that is using them. The ideal scenario is that you have the best equipment available and a highly skilled professional photographer to be able to get the most out of it. The skill of the photographer includes being able to take great photos in diverse lighting scenarios, depending on the weather, or the lighting at the wedding event venues.

The Roles of Expert Photographers

When you hire a professional wedding photographer in St-Helens, you can expect their full attention, whereas with a friend or family member theyíre far more likely to become distracted. A professional photographer wonít be looking to get involved with the celebrations like a family member would.

They wonít miss that precious moment whilst chatting with wedding guests, having a beer or grabbing a slice of cake. Every moment theyíre there, their focus will be on unobtrusively capturing the best possible images that they can of the event.

Another thing to bear in mind is that wedding guests tend to respond to photoshoots better when they are being arranged by professional wedding photographers. When family members organise a photo session, or an ad hoc photo opportunity, thereís a different dynamic to when a photographer sets up a professional shoot.

Skill with Different Styles of Photography

In order to attain photos with a specific style, you need to engage a professional wedding photographer with the style to match. Not many amateurs are familiar with the differences between photojournalistic, fine art, traditional or contemporary styles.

Are you certain that theyíre going to be able to provide you with the photos that you dream of? Quite often, they will not be able to. Take a bit of time to understand what it is you want and then hire a photographer that can deliver that style. Choose a professional who can immediately understand your style ideas when you explain them.

Reliability and Communication

There are lots of other reasons to choose a professional wedding photographer rather than choosing a relative, friend or enthusiast to take your photos. Itís easy to understate how a professional photographer can contribute to the day; blending into the background when necessary and getting involved to smooth the schedule and push things along when time is getting tight.

A professional wedding photographer will have the communication skills to organise groups, move people and find out exactly what you want throughout the day. They have the experience to do so using body language, cues and verbally, without obstructing your guests, or spoiling the celebration of your big day in St-Helens. Getting the perfect picture often involves striking a balance between being distant, but also being encouraging and supportive, humorous and amateurs rarely have the skills to do it.

You Get More with Professional Wedding Photographers

You spend more time with your wedding photographer than anyone else on your wedding day. The wedding photographer will take the initial shots during the day as you get ready and even travel to the church and will stay with you throughout the day and maybe until you leave for home or honeymoon.

You wedding photographer has been hired to capture every special moment of the day, whilst staying in the background unnoticed and will do that from start to end. The best wedding photographers are practically invisible, until you need a photo taken. The photographer will notice if a picture is being spoiled by a lipstick stain on a collar, or a wonky handkerchief.

They are there to help you get the best pictures and will try and fix anything that is in the way of that goal. Your photographer will be your shadow all day in St-Helens, not your wedding planner. The photographer will help the wedding party and guests be where they need to be and help to calm any emotions.

A Patient Temperament

Your wedding photographer should be professional and help you relax throughout the day. Think about the number of hours you will be with this one person on your special day. You want that decision to feel right at every moment of the day.

The professional photographer will have to be technically skilled, with an added mix of patience, experience and understanding. They need to flow through the day in St-Helens with you, capturing the best of your personality through the lens. Even if things donít go exactly to plan, the wedding photographer will remain in control, calm and measured, as a reassuring presence. An expert wedding photographer is flexible and goes with the flow of the event, while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Your Wedding Photographer and What to Expect?

For a lot of wedding couples, their wedding day is the first time a professional wedding photographer has their camera lens pointed at them. As well as being anxious about the big day, having a camera pointed at you all day can make you feel even more uncomfortable, especially if you feel that photos donít generally flatter you.

If you have done your homework by selecting a professional wedding photographer in St-Helens that matches your style, there are a few things that a wedding photographer will deliver to mark a satisfactory service.

Do you need a quality, friendly and relaxed professional photographer for your Wedding? Give me call today.

A Professional Attitude and Good Time Keeping

You can be reassured that the photographer will be professional by researching their reputation, their previous work and their passion for what they do. Your photographer should be friendly, polite, punctual and appropriately dressed for the event. Your photographer should get to your wedding venues earlier than the guests so that they can get a feel for the environment; they will probably have been to some of the venues already in order to understand the limitations and possibilities.

The Wedding Rehearsal on the Day Before the Wedding

Church weddings tend to have a rehearsal date within a week of the main event. The wedding photographer ask to come to the wedding day rehearsal to scout the location and to find out from the Vicar where they should be standing throughout the service. The registrar will normally be consulted on the day of the wedding with civil ceremonies, in order for the wedding photographer to get the information they need.

The Day Arrives – the Wedding

Your wedding photographer will tend to arrive to take photos of the bridal presentations, the timings will have been agreed. He will be there for the rest of the day but will not interrupt the flow in any way. Jeff Woodall photographyís ethos is to be very subtle, at staying in the background without interrupting the day, but being available to keep spirits high and answer any difficult questions, making sure that every single memory is captured in digital format. Jeff Woodall photography will be poised to capture all of the beautiful moments through the day, without intruding in any way.

At a certain time in the evening, usually after the first dance, your photographer will approach you to see if thereís anything else you would like him to capture. The backing up process will begin if you are happy for your photographer to call it a day. Jeff Woodall photography backs up all wedding pictures captured on the day to separate hard drives and then keeps them safe in a permanent backup until the end of the editing stage and provided to you. We never underestimate the value of your photographs.

Editing Wedding Photographs

Editing the images is an important part of preparing your wedding photography package, completed in the days after the wedding event in St-Helens. The photographs need to tell the story of the wedding day and so the first stage is going through all the pictures and selecting the best ones. A light edit is carried out on the images to ensure that it is subtle and natural.

The images provided to clients by Jeff Woodall photography are always high resolution. During post processing, the images undergo some minor editing. They are colour balanced and cropped. Some of the pictures may be converted to monochrome and other style filters may be applied to further enhance the overall effects of your images.

The images are then exported and uploaded to an online password protected gallery, ready to be viewed by you, your friends and family as you wish. You will also be given all high resolution images on a USB stick. We know that you’ll want to be sharing your beautiful wedding photos online and giving access to your family and friends. So, weíll provide instructions of how to share your online gallery access with everyone you want to and weíll provide you with a USB stick with high-definition pictures as well.

Here to help after event

We know that you may want to put your photos in wedding photo books or maybe looking for a special wedding album and Jeff Woodall photography will be available to discuss how best to present your images after the wedding. Early on you’ll probably decide if you want a digital photo book album and the different colours and styles that you will require, but it’ll probably take you a while after your wedding ceremony to decide which of the images you are going to want to include.

80 images is around the number you should be looking to choose, but your photographer will guide you on this. Your photographer will then begin to design the album for you.

How much time you want for the shoot in St-Helens

Photographers will normally price up based on the likely time involved. With weddings, we understand that exact timings and schedule are very individual and that they need to go with the flow of your day. We need to be flexible and so we tend to take a different approach to pricing our wedding packages.

Many photographers (and I used to) offer a range of packages in St-Helens, such as ëPlatinumí, ëGoldí, ëSilveríand ëBronzeí. This way of doing things can get over complicated and even more so when additional options and extras are added to the mix. When you choose me, you get a fixed price for the day, with no hidden extras. Obviously, this is within reason, but I tend to arrive well early to get shots of getting ready and to remain long after the first dance, because there is still additional photographic value to be had. We understand that things can run a little off schedule and don’t want you to be billed for an extra hour here or there if a ëSilverí or ëGoldí package, didn’t cover the hours to fully record your event. For wedding ceremonies that are a long way away and need significant travel or even flights, there would be some negotiation required over accommodation, fuel, flights, food and refreshments.

Wedding photography Services List

Below is a summary list of wedding photography services :

How Wedding Styles Really Differ

Fine Art Photography

Just as with photography of a photojournalistic style, fine art photographers don’t normally take that many shots that are of a traditional nature. Rather, their pictures are captured through an artistic appreciation of events, elements and people, accented with the use of stunning lighting. The Fine Art photographer in St-Helens prefers to pack their photos with art and drama, often using black and white as a filter.

Vintage Style Photography

Vintage photography is a style that has evolved and become increasingly more popular of late, helped by the emergence of vintage style filters. More and more couples are choosing vintage wedding photography as their wedding style for their photographs. This style of photography can evoke feelings of nostalgia and the old and timeless nature of that style really seems to appeal to people. Colour filters together with other post processing methods have the capacity to translate rather plain images into artistic pieces and photographers in St-Helens who have a keen eye in this area, can work wonders with wedding photographs.

Traditional or Classical

In traditional or classical photography, each moment is captured as if it staged and a portrait, rather than spontaneous and ad hoc as they might seem. This won’t make the photograph appear forced or posed, but it’s likely that few spontaneous ëaction shotsí will be included in the mix. The goal of photographers who prefer the traditional style is to take pictures that reflect the artistry and dignity of the wedding ceremony, with stunning lighting techniques.

Photojournalistic or Reportage

Photojournalism photography focuses on the actual moments that happen, rather than staging them. With this type of shot you will get all of the expected group and formal shots, as well as lots more spontaneous images as well as the normal ësmile for the cameraí roundups of guests throughout the day. The photojournalistic wedding photographer tells the story of the day, using a mix of close-up and candid shots, showing spontaneous reaction and recording the atmosphere of the event , rather than orchestrating the scenes.

Black and White (Monochrome)

This style is excellent for timeless, classical, emotion-packed photographs. Although many people prefer colour images, others appreciate how removing that colour and by the skillfully use of post processing techniques, really create pictures that are packed with atmosphere. You need to decide what you like. Using monochrome can enhance pictures by helping the subject and composition of photos really come to life. The extra contrast of black and monochrome images can really evoke a certain atmosphere that colour sometimes simply cannot.

Colour Popped and HDR Techniques

This area of photography requires skill in techniques that involve shooting with a lot of attention to detail and the post processing becomes a little more complex too. Photographers who use HDR and colour popping techniques have the awareness, the creative eye and the technical photographic and editing capabilities to produce stunning images.
