The Role of the Photographer

When you hire a professional wedding photographer in Franklands-Village, you can expect their full attention, whereas with a friend or family member theyíre far more likely to become distracted. When you pay a professional photographer, theyíre there to do a job, whereas a family member is more likely to be looking to enjoy the celebrations.

They wonít miss that precious moment whilst chatting with wedding guests, having a beer or grabbing a slice of cake. They will be concentrating on the job of getting the best possible pictures they can for your wedding.

Something else that is a factor is that wedding guests tend to respect photo opportunities much more when they are gently marshalled by professional photographers. When family members organise a photo session, or an ad hoc photo opportunity, thereís a different dynamic to when a photographer sets up a professional shoot.

The Photography Style

If you have in mind a particular photographic style, then you should hire a professional that is an expert in that area or style. If you asked the majority of amateur photographers what the difference is between fine art, contemporary, traditional or photojournalistic photography styles, most wouldnít have a clue.

Are you certain that theyíre going to be able to provide you with the photos that you dream of? Often, they wonít be able to. Donít rush into a decision; think about the style you want and get a photographer that can match it. Once you have a style in mind, hire a photographer that can picture what it is you want.

A Great Communicator and Reliable, too

There are still even more reasons why you should choose a professional photographer in Franklands-Village over an enthusiast or amateur friend or relative. Itís easy to understate how a professional photographer can contribute to the day; blending into the background when necessary and getting involved to smooth the schedule and push things along when time is getting tight.

A professional wedding photographer will be able to communicate effectively and persuasively with guests to ensure they are where they need to be. They will use their voice and body language to encourage people to where they need to be, persuasively getting things done and enhancing rather than detracting from the celebration of your special day in Franklands-Village. An amateur photographer, no matter how much effort they put in, will not be able to maintain a balance between the necessary distance, humour, intimacy and support while still getting the perfect shots.

Expert Wedding Photographers Give You more

Thereís no person youíll be spending more time with on your wedding day than your photographer. The wedding photographer will take preamble shots at the start of the day, shots at the venue, pictures at the reception and perhaps even pictures as you leave the venue at the end of the day.

Your wedding photographer is always near you, having been engaged to capture the emotion and style of your day in its entirety. The best wedding photographers are practically invisible, until you need a photo taken. Your photographer will ensure every shot is perfect and no detail is amiss, such as a lipstick stain on the teeth, or button holes that are wonky.

Your photographer will help you try and fix anything that could spoil a quality photo. Your wedding planner will have lots of other things to do and wonít shadow you all day in Franklands-Village, not like your photographer will. Your photographer will calm emotions when they heighten and ensure that people get to the right place at the right time.

The Epitome of Patience

As a wedding couple, you should engage the services of a wedding photographer that helps you feel comfortable. Consider the amount of time you will spend with the person on one of the most important days of your life. You want to be happy that you made the right decision.

The professional photographer should have an incredible amount of patience, but also a good deal of empathy and subtle powers of persuasion. Your personality needs to be captured through the lens and itís their job to help you to be at ease throughout the day in Franklands-Village. Even if things donít go exactly to plan, the wedding photographer will remain in control, calm and measured, as a reassuring presence. A good wedding photographer will remain professional at all times and will be flexible, flowing and adapting to changing circumstances.

What to Expect from Your Wedding Photographer?

The wedding day is often the first time that the couple has ever had a professional photographer taking shots of them. This can be a source of anxiety and worry, especially for those that donít like the way they look in photographs.

With time invested in choosing the right wedding photographer in Franklands-Village that will gel with you, you can feel comfortable that certain things will happen along the way.

Promptness and Professionalism

If you hire people for the right reasons, such as their passion, reputation and having looked at their work, professionalism will be a given. You want your wedding photographer to get on with the guests, to have an excellent attitude towards time keeping and to dress in a suitable manner for your wedding. Your photographer should get to your wedding venues earlier than the guests so that they can get a feel for the environment; they will probably have been to some of the venues already in order to understand the limitations and possibilities.

Wedding Day Rehearsal (The day before)

In many cases, church wedding ceremonies have a rehearsal during the week before the wedding. The wedding photographer ask to come to the wedding day rehearsal to scout the location and to find out from the Vicar where they should be standing throughout the service. Number of hours for the shoot in Franklands-Village

Generally, each assignment the photographer takes will be priced up largely based on the anticipated hours it will take. At Jeff Woodall photography this is normally the way we price up events and portraits, but with weddings the process has been simplified because we understand that each day is completely different, timings are personal and we need to be flexible to capture the flow of your wedding events.

You are probably familiar with photographers offering ëPlatinumí, ëGoldí, ëSilverí and ëBronzeí wedding packages in Franklands-Village. What exactly gets delivered becomes complicated, especially in those cases where additional options are added to these package deals. When you choose me, you get a fixed price for the day, with no hidden extras. I don’t quibble over the extra hour we were there, due to late starts etc. The last thing you want to hear after that, is that you have been billed for an extra hour, as you only paid for the ëSilverí package of eight hours and for various reasons things ran late. In cases where weddings are overseas, or in remote locations, there would need to be some negotiation regarding fuel or flights, food and accommodation.

How Wedding Styles Really Differ

Fine Art Photography

Fine art photographers normally steer clear of too many traditional shots, in the same way that photojournalistic photographers do. Instead, they use an artistic approach to capture elements, people and events, with a subtle use of effective lighting techniques. Typically, a fine art photographer in Franklands-Village is highly skilled at creating and staging photos that are artistic and beautifully full of drama, applying filters to photos during editing, including often using monochrome conversions.

Vintage Style Photography

This style of photography was borne partly from the popularity of vintage photo filters. The number of wedding couples that choose to have vintage wedding photography has grown fast. With vintage images there is certainly a timeless quality that can stir nostalgic emotion, which may be the cause of such an increase in the appeal of this artistic style. Colour filters together with other post processing methods have the capacity to translate rather plain images into artistic pieces and photographers in Franklands-Village who have a keen eye in this area, can work wonders with wedding photographs.

Traditional or Classical

In traditional or classical photography, many shots are treated as a posed portraits, sometimes including shots you may think of as candid. Although the photographs won’t feel overly posed or artificial, you probably won’t get many action shots in the wedding album. The aim of traditional photography is to capture moments with dignity and artistry, using many posed shots, including many formal images, under a range of lighting options.

Photojournalistic or Reportage

Photojournalism looks to record moments on camera, rather than orchestrating specific staged shots. As always, the necessary formal shots will be taken, as well as a number of spontaneous happy shots group shots during the day. The photojournalistic wedding photographer tells the story of the day, using a mix of close-up and candid shots, showing spontaneous reaction and recording the atmosphere of the event , rather than orchestrating the scenes.

Black and White (Monochrome)

The black and white style is excellent for creating nostalgic and timeless photographs. Although many people prefer colour images, others appreciate how removing that colour and by the skillfully use of post processing techniques, really create pictures that are packed with atmosphere. Preference is what matters here. Monochrome images aren’t always liked by everybody, but using this style can really draw attention to particular aspects of the sceneís composition and subject matter. The extra contrast of black and monochrome images can really evoke a certain atmosphere that colour sometimes simply cannot.

Colour Popped and HDR Techniques

This photography technique requires excellent attention to detail from the outset, while both taking the shots and throughout the processing stage. If you like photographs that are enhanced with that occasional pop of colour, or dramatic high dynamic range, your photographer will have the skill to choose the right scenes sparingly, to professionally execute the shot and to skillfully edit to produce stunning results.
