The benefits of having a professional wedding photographer

When you choose to hire a professional wedding photographer in Broad-Oak the pictures you receive will be quality, in high resolution, captured with the best photography equipment and edited with skill, using professional editing software.

A professional wedding photographer in Broad-Oak will be able to take great pictures, using a combination of skill, the latest digital equipment and software, giving you a superb finished product.

The physical equipment such as cameras, is just part of the equation in terms of capturing the best photographic images. Camera phones are pretty amazing these days and many people are tempted to try and save money by using them for their wedding photos. This is a big mistake. We know everyone wants the best possible photos they can get for their wedding. I’ll explain some of these benefits in greater detail, to help you understand the value in paying a professional wedding photographer for the day in Broad-Oak.

Experts with their camera gear and a host of external factors, such as weather conditions. A wedding photographer will not be able to produce fantastic pictures in all conditions if they don’t have the lenses for the situation, the lighting options, or don’t have the skill to use them. Professional wedding photographers are better, not just because of their skill and experience, but also the equipment that they use. Although DSLR cameras are available to anyone, it takes experience and proficiency to capture the best possible photos and get the most out of any camera. The types of camera equipment being utilised is important, but just as important is the skill of the photographer that is using them. The ideal situation is that you have an expert photographer who can use top of the range equipment to its full potential. This includes choosing the right equipment and camera settings for indoor and outdoor shots at the venue and the changing conditions at both.

The Roles of Expert Photographers

When you hire a professional wedding photographer in Broad-Oak, you can expect their full attention, whereas with a friend or family member theyíre far more likely to become distracted. A professional photographer wonít be looking to get involved with the celebrations like a family member would.

They wonít miss that precious moment whilst chatting with wedding guests, having a beer or grabbing a slice of cake. Every moment theyíre there, their focus will be on unobtrusively capturing the best possible images that they can of the event.

Wedding shoots also tend to go much better when guests are engaging with paid, professional photographers. If a relative is trying to organise a photo session, it might end up far less organised than if a professional were doing it.

The Style of the Photography

If you are looking for photography that captures a certain style, then you should hire a photographer that is proficient in that style. How many amateurs do you think are even aware of the differences between fine art, contemporary, traditional, or photojournalistic photography styles?

Can they deliver what you want the way you want it? Quite often, they will not be able to. Donít rush into a decision; think about the style you want and get a photographer that can match it. Go with a professional photographer who can quickly understand what it is you are trying to achieve.

A Great Communicator and Reliable, too

There are many more reasons that a professional photographer is a better choice than using a relative or enthusiast. A professional photographer brings a lot of experience of weddings to the table and can help you to stay on track with the schedule and find the right balance between getting things done and blending into the background.

A professional wedding photographer will be able to communicate effectively and persuasively with guests to ensure they are where they need to be. They will be able to use signals and body language, as well as their voice, to get people where they need to be in a pleasant way, enhancing the atmosphere of your celebration in Broad-Oak. Amateur photographers, no matter how hard they try, will find it hard to identify the right approach to photo sessions, being distant to a degree, professional, humorous, encouraging and supporting guests through the process, in order to capture those memorable shots.

Professional Wedding Photographers Provide More

The wedding photographer is around all day, spending time with you on your wedding day. The wedding photographer will take the initial shots during the day as you get ready and even travel to the church and will stay with you throughout the day and maybe until you leave for home or honeymoon.

From the start of the day to the end of the day, your wedding photographer will be around you, capturing every special moment without intruding on your day. The best wedding photographers are practically invisible, until you need a photo taken. The photographer will notice if a picture is being spoiled by a lipstick stain on a collar, or a wonky handkerchief.

Their detailed focus will help you fix any little issues and get better photos. Your wedding planner will have lots of other things to do and wonít shadow you all day in Broad-Oak, not like your photographer will. The photographer will help the wedding party be where they need to be, when they need to be and to be as calm as they should be.

Patience

Itís really important that you hire a wedding photographer that puts you at ease. Think about the number of hours you will be with this one person on your special day. The person you have decided on needs to be the right one.

The professional photographer you choose should have an excellent skill set; great technically, the patience of a saint, the persuasive skills of a sales person and the empathetic and emotional skills of a counsellor. With the camera, they need to ensure that you and your personality shines through on your wedding day in Broad-Oak. Rarely does a wedding go exactly to plan and a wedding photographer should always remain calm and in control throughout the day. An expert wedding photographer will adapt to the needs of the day and remain professional at all times.

Your Wedding Photographer and What to Expect?

The wedding day is often the first time that the couple has ever had a professional photographer taking shots of them. If you donít like the way you look in photographs, this can prove to be a fairly stressful situation.

With time invested in choosing the right wedding photographer in Broad-Oak that will gel with you, you can feel comfortable that certain things will happen along the way.

A Professional Attitude and Good Time Keeping

You can be reassured that the photographer will be professional by researching their reputation, their previous work and their passion for what they do. Itís important that the wedding photographer you choose gets there on time, has a great attitude and gets on with people. Your wedding photographer should arrive before they need to, so that they can get a feel for the venues and the best places to get the shots that you desire.

Wedding Day Rehearsal (The day before)

Church wedding ceremonies normally have the custom of a wedding rehearsal a day or two before the wedding. The wedding photographer ask to come to the wedding day rehearsal to scout the location and to find out from the Vicar where they should be standing throughout the service. In the case of a civil ceremony, the wedding photographer will tend to have the discussion with the registrar on the same day as the wedding in Broad-Oak.

The editing of the digital photographs then begins with a light touch approach that ensures a subtle process of enhancement.

Jeff Woodall photography only use beautifully sharp images. The pictures that require a little work are edited for colour balance and size. Some images will be converted to black and white and may have other styles applied as appropriate.

When the editing process is complete, the photos are exported from the suite of editing tools and the files uploaded to an online password protected gallery for viewing and also uploaded to a USB stick; you can then distribute the photos as you want and share on social media. Instructions on how to access the gallery which you can share with friends and family will be sent to you along with a USB stick containing high resolution images that you can easily share online.

Helping clients down the line

Jeff Woodall photography will be available for everything else you need; to talk about albums, or the types of bespoke wedding photo books that can be designed for you. If you have already decided on a digital photo book album and know the style choices you want to go for, it’ll probably still take you a little while after the wedding to decide on which images to include.

Typically the photographer will ask you to choose 80 or so images. Your photographer will then begin to design the album for you.

The shoot duration in Broad-Oak

Each assignment a photographer takes is normally broken down into a number of hours. Each wedding is individual, with exact timings that differ and ad hoc things that happened during the day and so we work a little differently on wedding packages in order to remain flexible.

Photographers often [I used to] have different packages in Broad-Oak i.e. ëPlatinumí, ëGoldí, ëSilverí, ëBronzeí, etc. When you start adding extra options, wedding album packages, design and other things it can get quite complicated. I now prefer to work on a fixed price for the full day’s coverage. Iím not a clock watcher and won’t mind doing an extra hour or so. We understand that things can run a little off schedule and don’t want you to be billed for an extra hour here or there if a ëSilverí or ëGoldí package, didn’t cover the hours to fully record your event. In cases where weddings are overseas, or in remote locations, there would need to be some negotiation regarding fuel or flights, food and accommodation.

What are the differences between all these different styles?

Fine Art Photography

Just as with photography of a photojournalistic style, fine art photographers don’t normally take that many shots that are of a traditional nature. Events, people and elements are photographed with a more artistic approach, with the use of various lighting techniques. Fine Art photographers in Broad-Oak have a flair for the dramatic and always looking for the artistic side when composing and staging their photos, often using different filters, including black and white.

Vintage Style Photography

Vintage photography is a style that has evolved and become increasingly more popular of late, helped by the emergence of vintage style filters. The number of weddings that are being photographed with a vintage wedding theme in mind, seems to be steadily growing. With vintage images there is certainly a timeless quality that can stir nostalgic emotion, which may be the cause of such an increase in the appeal of this artistic style. The use of colour filters and lighting can help to transform images into works of art during the process of capturing images of a vintage theme in Broad-Oak.

Traditional or Classical

In traditional or classical photography, each moment is captured as if it staged and a portrait, rather than spontaneous and ad hoc as they might seem. Although the photographs won’t feel overly posed or artificial, you probably won’t get many action shots in the wedding album. The aim of traditional photography is to capture moments with dignity and artistry, using many posed shots, including many formal images, under a range of lighting options.

Photojournalistic or Reportage

This style of photography is less about orchestrating and creating moments to capture on camera, than reporting those special moments of the day. As always, the necessary formal shots will be taken, as well as a number of spontaneous happy shots group shots during the day. The photo journalistic photographer tends not to orchestrate moments and poses but would rather look to capture the genuinely spontaneous action and close up reactions of guests and the wedding couple.

Black and White (Monochrome)

Black and White photographs often create a timeless and classic look. Although many clients prefer colour photographs, a large number also appreciate the way that removing colour can enhance the mood captured in images. It’s all about preference. By using monochrome techniques, you can really bring out the essence of the subject of a photograph, although not everyone likes this style. The extra contrast of black and monochrome images can really evoke a certain atmosphere that colour sometimes simply cannot.

Colour Popped and HDR Techniques

This aspect of photography employs techniques that require attention to detail in both the shooting, as well as the final processing. Photographers who use HDR and colour popping techniques have the awareness, the creative eye and the technical photographic and editing capabilities to produce stunning images.
