The Role the Photographer Plays
A professional wedding photographer in Upper-Dicker is far less likely to be distracted by situations of the day than a family member or relative. A professional photographer wonít be looking to get involved with the celebrations like a family member would.
They wonít miss that crucial loving moment because theyíre eating cake, downing a beer, or chatting with wedding guests. They will be concentrating on the job of getting the best possible pictures they can for your wedding.
Wedding shoots also tend to go much better when guests are engaging with paid, professional photographers. Photoshoots taken by a relative tend to be less organised and taken less seriously than those arranged by professionals.
Skill with Different Styles of Photography
If you want a specific style of photography, you should hire a professional photographer whose style matches yours. The majority of amateur photographers would stare blankly if asked to tell you the difference between photojournalistic, traditional, fine art, or contemporary photographic styles.
Can an amateur really deliver the pictures that are going to inspire you forever? Often, this is not the case. Take a bit of time to understand what it is you want and then hire a photographer that can deliver that style. Once you have in mind what you want to achieve, hire a professional who gets it.
A Great Communicator and Reliable, too
There are numerous other factors that contribute to a professional photographer being a better choice than an amateur photographer or enthusiast. You shouldnít underestimate the wealth of experience the professional brings in dealing with the various challenges of the big day.
A professional wedding photographer will be able to communicate effectively and persuasively with guests to ensure they are where they need to be. They will be able to use signals and body language, as well as their voice, to get people where they need to be in a pleasant way, enhancing the atmosphere of your celebration in Upper-Dicker. Maintaining a balance between holding a distance as a photographer but getting involved to encourage people is a very difficult balance to strike and very few amateurs have the experience to do it.
If You Want More, Use Professional Wedding Photographers
You spend more time with your wedding photographer than anyone else on your wedding day. The wedding photographer will take preamble shots at the start of the day, shots at the venue, pictures at the reception and perhaps even pictures as you leave the venue at the end of the day.
Your wedding photographer remains with you throughout every special moment of the day, capturing memories and blending into the background. The best wedding photographers are practically invisible, until you need a photo taken. The photographer is the one who notices every detail out of place such as lipstick stains on the teeth, or wonky button holes etc.
They will be there to inform you of this and help you try to fix it. Your wedding planner will spend far less time with you during the day in Upper-Dicker than your photographer will. The photographer will help the wedding party and guests be where they need to be and help to calm any emotions.

Number of hours for the shoot in Upper-Dicker
Generally, a photographer will use time as one of the main methods to price an assignment. Although we tend to use this pricing method for most events and for portrait shoots, the process has been simplified for our wedding packages, to fit the scheduling needs for each wedding and ensure that we remain flexible enough to go with the flow of your day.
You are probably familiar with photographers offering ëPlatinumí, ëGoldí, ëSilverí and ëBronzeí wedding packages in Upper-Dicker. This way of doing things can get over complicated and even more so when additional options and extras are added to the mix. With me you get a full day’s coverage for a set price. I don’t quibble over the extra hour we were there, due to late starts etc. We donít want to bill you an extra hour or two after the wedding because it didn’t go exactly to schedule and the package you pay for didn’t have enough hours. In cases where weddings are overseas, or in remote locations, there would need to be some negotiation regarding fuel or flights, food and accommodation.

Some of the differences between wedding styles explained
Fine Art Photography
In the same way that photographers of a photojournalistic genre don’t tend to take traditional shots very often, fine arts photographers rarely do either. Rather, they photograph with an appreciation for the artistic side of people, the lighting options and the overall drama of the scene. Fine Art photographers in Upper-Dicker have a flair for the dramatic and always looking for the artistic side when composing and staging their photos, often using different filters, including black and white.
Vintage Style Photography
Vintage image filters have become very popular and so this style of photography has quickly evolved. The market for couples who want vintage style weddings and photography has become quite large. This style of photography can evoke feelings of nostalgia and the old and timeless nature of that style really seems to appeal to people. Through the use of various methods, such as colour filters used in this style, professional photographers are able to transform pretty standard looking images into works of art.
Traditional or Classical
In traditional or classical photography, each moment is captured as if it staged and a portrait, rather than spontaneous and ad hoc as they might seem. You’re less likely to get action shots with this type of photography, although every moment will be captured in a natural way that doesn’t feel forced or posed. Traditional photographers are likely to want to record of the formalities of the wedding ceremony and to portray the dignity and meaning of the ceremony, with subtle lighting.
Photojournalistic or Reportage
Photojournalism looks to record moments on camera, rather than orchestrating specific staged shots. As always, the necessary formal shots will be taken, as well as a number of spontaneous happy shots group shots during the day. The photo journalistic photographer tends not to orchestrate moments and poses but would rather look to capture the genuinely spontaneous action and close up reactions of guests and the wedding couple.
Black and White (Monochrome)
With black-and-white photographs you get a timeless and classical feel to images. Although many people prefer colour images, others appreciate how removing that colour and by the skillfully use of post processing techniques, really create pictures that are packed with atmosphere. Preference is what matters here. Not everyone prefers monochrome images, but there’s no doubt that photographs can be made more compelling by emphasising areas of focus and the composition with this method. Sometimes colour can fail to portray the atmosphere of a photo, where monochrome techniques can really bring it to life.
Colour Popped and HDR Techniques
When shooting photographs and using this photo technique, each shot is rather complex with lots of elements to consider and the editing process is equally detailed. Photographers who use HDR and colour popping techniques have the awareness, the creative eye and the technical photographic and editing capabilities to produce stunning images.
