Why you should hire a pro-photographer for your wedding day.

If your wedding is coming up soon then you have probably planned most of the necessities. Catering for the event is in hand, the wedding cake is chosen and the wedding venue is all booked. You’ve tried on and love your wedding dress and have chosen table decorations and flowers.

You are now thinking about capturing the precious memories of your big day as photographic images. Your uncle is a good amateur photographer and perhaps you’re considering asking him.

Some of the key benefits of professional wedding photography

Having hired a professional wedding photographer in Itchingfield, you are assured of the highest quality images, created and edited using the best expertise, cameras and photo editing software.

Using their knowledge and skills, together with camera and equipment of superior technology and editing with the latest software, your wedding photographer in Itchingfield will be able to produce beautiful and unique images that will make your day..

The equipment that wedding photographers use goes far beyond the camera, which is only a part of what it takes to achieve the quality photography you need at your wedding. The advent of camera phones has for some become a tempting way to try and save money on wedding photography. This is a big mistake. Every wedding couple wants the highest quality and most skillfully composed photographs possible, to remember their wedding day by. Let’s take a look at some of the main benefits of having a professional in Itchingfield with professional photography equipment, so that you can understand what you are actually paying for with a professional wedding photographer.

A detailed knowledge of their camera equipment and how to deal with variable lighting conditions. A photographer is only as good as the lenses they use and the skills they possess and a full appreciation of lighting. Professional wedding photographers are better, not just because of their skill and experience, but also the equipment that they use. Anyone can buy a DSLR camera, but it takes great skill to unlock the potential of the equipment. The types of camera equipment being utilised is important, but just as important is the skill of the photographer that is using them. Ideally, you want to go for high end gear, as well as an expert photographer who has the knowledge and expertise in using that equipment optimally. This includes various photographic lighting options, which might be necessary depending on the degree of ambient light available due to the weather conditions or the available light at the chosen venues.

Photographerís Roles

A professional wedding photographer in Itchingfield is far less likely to be distracted by situations of the day than a family member or relative. When you pay a professional photographer, theyíre there to do a job, whereas a family member is more likely to be looking to enjoy the celebrations.

They wonít miss that precious moment whilst chatting with wedding guests, having a beer or grabbing a slice of cake. Every moment theyíre there, their focus will be on unobtrusively capturing the best possible images that they can of the event.

Wedding shoots also tend to go much better when guests are engaging with paid, professional photographers. When family members organise a photo session, or an ad hoc photo opportunity, thereís a different dynamic to when a photographer sets up a professional shoot.

The Style of the Photography

In order to get a specific photographic style, you need a professional photographer whose style matches what youíre looking for. The majority of amateur photographers would stare blankly if asked to tell you the difference between photojournalistic, traditional, fine art, or contemporary photographic styles.

Can an amateur photographer capture photos the way you want them? Quite often, they will not be able to. Take a bit of time to understand what it is you want and then hire a photographer that can deliver that style. Go with a professional photographer who can quickly understand what it is you are trying to achieve.

Communication Skills and Timeliness

A professional photographer is normally a much better choice than an amateur photographer or enthusiast and weíve already touched on a few other reasons so far. Itís easy to understate how a professional photographer can contribute to the day; blending into the background when necessary and getting involved to smooth the schedule and push things along when time is getting tight.

A professional wedding photographer will be able to communicate effectively and persuasively with guests to ensure they are where they need to be. They have the experience to do so using body language, cues and verbally, without obstructing your guests, or spoiling the celebration of your big day in Itchingfield. Amateur photographers, no matter how hard they try, will find it hard to identify the right approach to photo sessions, being distant to a degree, professional, humorous, encouraging and supporting guests through the process, in order to capture those memorable shots.

Professional Wedding Photographers Provide More

The wedding photographer is around all day, spending time with you on your wedding day. They will be with you from the preamble shots all the way to the departure.

Your wedding photographer remains with you throughout every special moment of the day, capturing memories and blending into the background. Good wedding photographers will only be noticed when they need to organise a photo session. The photographer will notice if a picture is being spoiled by a lipstick stain on a collar, or a wonky handkerchief.

By fixing any little issues they can help you get better images. Your wedding planner will not be your shadow all day in Itchingfield, but your photographer will. The photographer will help the wedding party and guests be where they need to be and help to calm any emotions.

Patience

As a couple, you need to hire a professional photographer that you are comfortable with. Youíre going to be spending a lot of time with this person on your wedding day. You want to be happy that you made the right decision.

You need a technically proficient photographer with, empathy, patience, understanding and superb planning skills. Your personality needs to be captured through the lens and itís their job to help you to be at ease throughout the day in Itchingfield. Rarely does a wedding go exactly to plan and a wedding photographer should always remain calm and in control throughout the day. A good wedding photographer will remain professional at all times and will be flexible, flowing and adapting to changing circumstances.

What to Expect from Your Wedding Photographer?

Often people have never been in front of a professional camera before their wedding day. Those that are camera shy, or donít particularly like how they look in photos, can feel anxious and worried about having a camera pointing at them all day.

If you have spent a bit of time selecting the right wedding photographer for you, the photographer in Itchingfield will do a few things in order to make the process better.

Do you need a quality, friendly and relaxed professional photographer for your Wedding? Give me call today.

Good Time Keeping and Professional Standards

You can be reassured that the photographer will be professional by researching their reputation, their previous work and their passion for what they do. Your photographer should be friendly, polite, punctual and appropriately dressed for the event. Your photographer should get to your wedding venues earlier than the guests so that they can get a feel for the environment; they will probably have been to some of the venues already in order to understand the limitations and possibilities.

The Day Before the Wedding - the Rehearsal

In many cases, church wedding ceremonies have a rehearsal during the week before the wedding. Your photographer may want to find out from the Vicar where they should stand during the vows and which vantage points wedding photographers normally use in the church. With civil ceremonies, the photographers will normally have a discussion with the registrar prior to the wedding starting in Itchingfield.

Wedding Day (The big day)

Your wedding photographer will normally arrive to capture the bridal presentations, at a pre agreed time. You will have his undivided attention for the whole day, but without interrupting in any way. The goal at Jeff Woodall photography is to ensure that every precious moment is captured, but to remain unobtrusive and in the background until such a time as you have questions to answer, or you need some help. Jeff Woodall photography prides itself on its ability to remain unobtrusive but to always be available for questions and to keep spirits high, ensuring that no beautifully precious moment is lost.

At a certain time in the evening, usually after the first dance, your photographer will approach you to see if thereís anything else you would like him to capture. The backup process will begin once your photographer has completed their work. Jeff Woodall photography will keep all photos backed up on a storage device until they have been through the editing suite process and are delivered to your satisfaction. Your photographs are as important to us as they are to you.

Wedding Photo Editing

The editing of wedding photographs takes place in the days after the wedding in Itchingfield and is a crucial part of the wedding photography process. At the start of the editing stage, the photos need to be sifted through so that the best ones can be selected. The pictures that have been chosen, then go through a subtle editing approach, with light touches to enhance the images.

Jeff Woodall photography provide clients with images that are high resolution. During post processing, the images undergo some minor editing. They are colour balanced and cropped. Various effects can be achieved during the post processing of your images, including monochrome conversions.

The pictures are then prepared and uploaded for viewing, by anyone you want to give access in an online password protected Gallery. They are also provided to you on a presentation USB stick. We know that you’ll want to be sharing your beautiful wedding photos online and giving access to your family and friends. So, weíll provide instructions of how to share your online gallery access with everyone you want to and weíll provide you with a USB stick with high-definition pictures as well.

Follow-up client support

We know that you may want to put your photos in wedding photo books or maybe looking for a special wedding album and Jeff Woodall photography will be available to discuss how best to present your images after the wedding. If you have already decided on a digital photo book album and know the style choices you want to go for, it’ll probably still take you a little while after the wedding to decide on which images to include.

Your photographer will guide you through how many photos to choose and how best to tell the story and we’ll probably suggest around 80 photos. Your photographer then goes about the task of designing the album.

How many hours of shooting in Itchingfield

Photographers will normally price up based on the likely time involved. At Jeff Woodall photography this is normally the way we price up events and portraits, but with weddings the process has been simplified because we understand that each day is completely different, timings are personal and we need to be flexible to capture the flow of your wedding events.

I used to offer a variety of wedding packages in Itchingfield, just as many photographers still do, such as ëPlatinumí, ëGoldí, ëSilverí and ëBronzeí. When you start adding extra options, wedding album packages, design and other things it can get quite complicated. I now prefer to work on a fixed price for the full day’s coverage. I understand that there may be an extra hour here or there due to delays etc. We donít want to bill you an extra hour or two after the wedding because it didn’t go exactly to schedule and the package you pay for didn’t have enough hours. For wedding ceremonies that involves travelling, the travel expenses for flights, fuel, food, refreshments and accommodation would need to be subject to negotiation with the client.

Wedding photography Services List

Below is a summary list of wedding photography services :

How Wedding Styles Really Differ

Fine Art Photography

Photojournalistic specialists and fine art photographers donít normally tend to shoot many purely traditional images. Events, people and elements are photographed with a more artistic approach, with the use of various lighting techniques. Typically, a fine art photographer in Itchingfield is highly skilled at creating and staging photos that are artistic and beautifully full of drama, applying filters to photos during editing, including often using monochrome conversions.

Vintage Style Photography

Vintage photography is a style that has evolved and become increasingly more popular of late, helped by the emergence of vintage style filters. More and more weddings are seeing photographers using a vintage photography style. This style of photography can evoke feelings of nostalgia and the old and timeless nature of that style really seems to appeal to people. Vintage photography in Itchingfield is regarded as almost an art form, where the ordinary is transformed into stunning evocative images using colour filters and specialist lighting.

Traditional or Classical

Seemingly spontaneous and ad hoc moments often tend to actually be taken as posed portraits with traditional or classical photography. You’re less likely to get action shots with this type of photography, although every moment will be captured in a natural way that doesn’t feel forced or posed. The aim of traditional photography is to capture moments with dignity and artistry, using many posed shots, including many formal images, under a range of lighting options.

Photojournalistic or Reportage

Photojournalism photography focuses on the actual moments that happen, rather than staging them. With this type of shot you will get all of the expected group and formal shots, as well as lots more spontaneous images as well as the normal ësmile for the cameraí roundups of guests throughout the day. The photo journalistic photographer tends not to orchestrate moments and poses but would rather look to capture the genuinely spontaneous action and close up reactions of guests and the wedding couple.

Black and White (Monochrome)

This style is excellent for timeless, classical, emotion-packed photographs. Although many people prefer colour images, others appreciate how removing that colour and by the skillfully use of post processing techniques, really create pictures that are packed with atmosphere. You need to decide what you like. Monochrome images aren’t always liked by everybody, but using this style can really draw attention to particular aspects of the sceneís composition and subject matter. Sometimes colour can fail to portray the atmosphere of a photo, where monochrome techniques can really bring it to life.

Colour Popped and HDR Techniques

Attention to detail during the shoot and excellent editing skills are required for this type of photography technique. The photographer that uses HDR and colour popped techniques will use them sparingly, only with the right images, to maximise the impact of those colour popped or high dynamic scenes.
