Key benefits of hiring wedding photography professionals

When you choose to hire a professional wedding photographer in Dial-Post the pictures you receive will be quality, in high resolution, captured with the best photography equipment and edited with skill, using professional editing software.

Using their knowledge and skills, together with camera and equipment of superior technology and editing with the latest software, your wedding photographer in Dial-Post will be able to produce beautiful and unique images that will make your day..

The quality of the photographs is determined by far more than just the camera that is taking them. The quality of the cameras on smartphones these days makes it very tempting to turn to them for wedding photography. They often make a big mistake doing so. Every wedding day deserves photographs that are captured skillfully, in the style of your choosing. Let me explain a bit more about how a wedding photographer in Dial-Post can add value to your photos and why it’s worth paying for them.

Camera equipment expertise, as well as being able to deal with indoor and outdoor lighting. The photographerís performance will be impaired by not having a variety of lenses, lighting options and also by not being skilled in their use. A professional wedding photographer is preferred because of their skill, expertise and also the equipment they use. Experienced professionals can get the most out of a DSLR camera due to their experience and skill, although anyone can take a picture with one. The type of equipment used is crucial, but just as if not more important, is the person handling the equipment. The ideal scenario is that you have the best equipment available and a highly skilled professional photographer to be able to get the most out of it. The lighting available at your venue, in the church and outside the church or in any other outdoor setting will vay markedly; it takes skill and appreciation to consistently take great photos in different lighting situations.

The Role of the Photographer

A professional wedding photographer in Dial-Post is far less likely to be distracted by situations of the day than a family member or relative. When you pay a professional photographer, theyíre there to do a job, whereas a family member is more likely to be looking to enjoy the celebrations.

They wonít miss that crucial loving moment because theyíre eating cake, downing a beer, or chatting with wedding guests. They will be fully concentrating on the job, taking every opportunity to capture the special moments of your wedding day, whilst keeping it very low key.

Wedding shoots also tend to go much better when guests are engaging with paid, professional photographers. When family members are taking control of a family photo session it tends to be taken less seriously.

The Photography Style

If you want a specific style of photography, you should hire a professional photographer whose style matches yours. If you want to ask an amateur photographer, the chances are that theyíre not familiar with the differences between traditional, contemporary, fine art, or photojournalistic styles.

Can an amateur really deliver the pictures that are going to inspire you forever? Often, this is not the case. Take some time to consider the photography styles you want to make sure that the wedding photographer you hire is in sync with you. Once you have in mind what you want to achieve, hire a professional who gets it.

Communication and Reliability

There are lots of other reasons to choose a professional wedding photographer rather than choosing a relative, friend or enthusiast to take your photos. Itís easy to underestimate the degree of experience a professional brings to the day and how they can contribute to it going smoothly, in spite of the various inevitable challenges.

A professional wedding photographer will be able to communicate effectively and persuasively with guests to ensure they are where they need to be. They will have a smooth touch, using body language, cues and verbal commands to get things done while keeping the positive atmosphere of your big day in Dial-Post. An amateur photographer, no matter how much effort they put in, will not be able to maintain a balance between the necessary distance, humour, intimacy and support while still getting the perfect shots.

Expert Wedding Photographers Give You more

You spend more time with your wedding photographer than anyone else on your wedding day. From the shots of you getting ready and preparing to go to church all the way to the moment you leave the wedding venue, the photographer is there.

From the start of the day to the end of the day, your wedding photographer will be around you, capturing every special moment without intruding on your day. If a photographer knows what theyíre doing, they wonít be noticed throughout the day. Your photographer will notice if there are untucked shirts or jackets missing in photos, as they will have a keen eye for every detail.

By fixing any little issues they can help you get better images. Your photographer will be your shadow all day in Dial-Post, not your wedding planner. Your photographer will calm emotions when they heighten and ensure that people get to the right place at the right time.

The Epitome of Patience

Your wedding photographer should be professional and help you relax throughout the day. Consider the amount of time you will spend with the person on one of the most important days of your life. You want that decision to feel right at every moment of the day.

The professional photographer will have to be technically skilled, with an added mix of patience, experience and understanding. They need to go with the flow and be able to make your personality shine brightly on your special day in Dial-Post. A professional will remain calm and in control even when things donít always go exactly to plan. A good wedding photographer will remain professional at all times and will be flexible, flowing and adapting to changing circumstances.

What to Expect When You Hire a Wedding Photographer?

Often people have never been in front of a professional camera before their wedding day. This can be a source of anxiety and worry, especially for those that donít like the way they look in photographs.

With time invested in choosing the right wedding photographer in Dial-Post that will gel with you, you can feel comfortable that certain things will happen along the way.

Professional Conduct and Prompt Time Keeping

If you hire people for the right reasons, such as their passion, reputation and having looked at their work, professionalism will be a given. You want your wedding photographer to get on with the guests, to have an excellent attitude towards time keeping and to dress in a suitable manner for your wedding. Your wedding photographer should arrive before they need to, so that they can get a feel for the venues and the best places to get the shots that you desire.

The Day Before the Wedding - the Rehearsal

If you plan to have a church ceremony, then itís customary to have a rehearsal a day or a week before. In many cases you photographer will choose to attend this event and to speak to the presiding minister about where they can and cannot stand and what they can and cannot do during ceremony. With civil ceremonies, the photographers will normally have a discussion with the registrar prior to the wedding starting in Dial-Post.

The Big Day – the Wedding

Your photographer will be there to take pictures of bridal presentations, or at whatever time you have agreed beforehand. He wonít interrupt at any point during the day but will be with you throughout. Itís crucial to the team at Jeff Woodall photography that every precious memory is captured on camera and that we remain unobtrusive, so the day can play out naturally; we are of course available for any questions and we strive to raise the spirits of everyone in the party. Jeff Woodall photographyís ethos is to be very subtle, at staying in the background without interrupting the day, but being available to keep spirits high and answer any difficult questions, making sure that every single memory is captured in digital format.

Your wedding photographer will have a discussion with you sometime after the first dance to find out if you need any more precious moments captured. If you are satisfied that your photographer has captured the day, he will begin the process of backing up all of the photos. Jeff Woodall does a full backup of the wedding images, to separate hard drives, which will be kept in a safe place on his photo editing suite, where theyíll remain until all the wedding photographs have been completely edited and delivered to you. We fully understand that your photographs are precious and need to be looked after.

Getting Your Wedding Photos Edited

In the days after the wedding in Dial-Post the important editing stage is completed. The first step is to select the best images that tell the story of your wedding. The editing of the digital photographs then begins with a light touch approach that ensures a subtle process of enhancement.

The images that are captured by Jeff Woodall photography are always crisp and sharp. Some editing work is carried out as required, mainly consisting of colour balancing and cropping where necessary. Some of the pictures may be converted to monochrome and other style filters may be applied to further enhance the overall effects of your images.

The pictures are then prepared and uploaded for viewing, by anyone you want to give access in an online password protected Gallery. They are also provided to you on a presentation USB stick. Sharing your wedding photos is great fun and so we provide you with the USB stick with high definition pictures and instructions of how to give access to your online gallery to friends and family.

Client support - follow-up

At Jeff Woodall photography we will ensure we are accessible to help you find out about bespoke wedding photo books and any wedding albums that you might like. If you have already decided on a digital photo book album and know the style choices you want to go for, it’ll probably still take you a little while after the wedding to decide on which images to include.

Typically the photographer will ask you to choose 80 or so images. The design process will then begin, as your photographer works on the album.

The shoot duration in Dial-Post

Typically, a photographer will work out pricing based on the number of hours they need to put into any assignment. At Jeff Woodall Photography we tend to use this method of pricing for events and for portraits, but we understand that each wedding has a bespoke schedule and that we need to be flexible to go with the day and so we work a little differently.

You are probably familiar with photographers offering ëPlatinumí, ëGoldí, ëSilverí and ëBronzeí wedding packages in Dial-Post. When you start adding extras to these packages it all becomes a bit of a logistical nightmare to understand or work out the overall price. I now prefer to work on a fixed price for the full day’s coverage. Iím not a clock watcher and won’t mind doing an extra hour or so. Accommodation and travel to and from weddings. For wedding ceremonies that are a long way away and need significant travel or even flights, there would be some negotiation required over accommodation, fuel, flights, food and refreshments.

A Look at the Differences in Styles

Fine Art Photography

Similar to photojournalistic photography, fine art photographers rarely take traditional shots. They prefer to take an artistic view and capture elements, events and people with that mindset, always looking for dramatic lighting and backgrounds. The Fine Art photographer in Dial-Post is adept in the use of black and white photography and at producing less candid, beautifully composed photos, full of drama and artistic beauty.

Vintage Style Photography

Vintage image filters have become very popular and so this style of photography has quickly evolved. The number of weddings that are being photographed with a vintage wedding theme in mind, seems to be steadily growing. Photographs of the Vintage style are timeless, old and has the power to stir emotions in people, which is perhaps why the style has become so appealing. The use of colour filters and lighting can help to transform images into works of art during the process of capturing images of a vintage theme in Dial-Post.

Traditional or Classical

Even apparently spontaneous shots are often treated as staged portrait pictures with traditional or classical photography. This won’t make the photograph appear forced or posed, but it’s likely that few spontaneous ëaction shotsí will be included in the mix. The wedding ceremony will be captured with the aim of taking pictures that are artistic and functional, but perhaps driven less by drama or emotion.

Photojournalistic or Reportage

Photojournalism photography focuses on the actual moments that happen, rather than staging them. As always, the necessary formal shots will be taken, as well as a number of spontaneous happy shots group shots during the day. The photojournalistic wedding photographer tells the story of the day, using a mix of close-up and candid shots, showing spontaneous reaction and recording the atmosphere of the event , rather than orchestrating the scenes.

Black and White (Monochrome)

Black and White photographs often create a timeless and classic look. Although many people prefer colour images, others appreciate how removing that colour and by the skillfully use of post processing techniques, really create pictures that are packed with atmosphere. It really comes down to what you prefer. Using monochrome can enhance pictures by helping the subject and composition of photos really come to life. Black and white photographs have the capacity to really enhance the atmosphere of an image, that is sometimes lost in the colour option.

Colour Popped and HDR Techniques

This area of photography requires skill in techniques that involve shooting with a lot of attention to detail and the post processing becomes a little more complex too. Photographers who use HDR and colour popping techniques have the awareness, the creative eye and the technical photographic and editing capabilities to produce stunning images.
