Why Wedding Photography Is Important?

Planning your wedding day in Golden-Cross is an involved process and hiring a wedding photographer may not initially be at the top of your priority list.

However, it’s well worth bumping up your wedding photos so they are near the top of your list. You need to get a photographer in Golden-Cross booked well in advance and have a clear budget for your wedding images. It is important to have a talented wedding photographer who has the skills and experience to perfectly capture all the precious moments of your wedding day. Your wedding photo book will be revisited countless times over the years with your friends, your children and even perhaps your future grandchildren.

Your wedding photographs will take on a special place in your heart, as they have the power to resurrect those happy memories and feelings of that special day. The day after your wedding in Golden-Cross, your wedding dress will be packed away, your shoes boxed up, the flowers will wither and you’ll be finishing off the last crumbs of the wedding cake. but the photographs of your wedding will always be with you to share, enjoy, laugh and maybe cry over. So please take the time to find the right professional!

Why engage a wedding photographer for your big day?

If your wedding day is just around the corner, then you have probably planned most of what you need to plan. The venue is all booked and planned, the cake is being made and your catering is sorted. You’ve tried on and love your wedding dress and have chosen table decorations and flowers.

You’re now planning on the best way to achieve the quality photographs your big day deserves. Your uncle is a good amateur photographer and perhaps you’re considering asking him.

That way you can save yourself some money, diverting the cash to other areas of your budget. This is definitely a path you should avoid.

Your wedding photos should be entrusted to a professional wedding photographer

It’s a much better idea to have a professional photographer get it right, than save some money and have an amateur photographer miss those important big and little details! Remember, some special moments happen only once in a lifetime, yet the photos will stay with you forever.

The benefits of having a professional wedding photographer

Hiring a professional wedding photographer in Golden-Cross means you will be left with pictures of the best quality, created using the best skills and equipment available.

As well as a wealth of knowledge and experience, wedding photographers in Golden-Cross have access to premium photography equipment and software to enable them to capture the best wedding pictures possible.

The equipment that wedding photographers use goes far beyond the camera, which is only a part of what it takes to achieve the quality photography you need at your wedding. But for many, who perceive that smartphone cameras are amazing, it is really tempting to try and cut costs on your wedding photography. This might be a huge mistake. Every wedding day deserves photographs that are captured skillfully, in the style of your choosing. I’ll explain some of these benefits in greater detail, to help you understand the value in paying a professional wedding photographer for the day in Golden-Cross.

Experts with their camera gear and a host of external factors, such as weather conditions. The photographerís performance will be impaired by not having a variety of lenses, lighting options and also by not being skilled in their use. Professional wedding photographers have more photographic equipment in their armoury and also have more experience using different setups to capture stunning images. Anyone can buy a DSLR camera, but it takes great skill to unlock the potential of the equipment. The skill of the person taking the photos is highly important, but they also need the right equipment to produce top results. What you need to get the best wedding photography experience is high end, appropriate camera equipment and a seasoned wedding photography professional who knows how to use it to its full potential. The skill of the photographer includes being able to take great photos in diverse lighting scenarios, depending on the weather, or the lighting at the wedding event venues.

The Role the Photographer Plays

A professional wedding photographer in Golden-Cross is far less likely to be distracted by situations of the day than a family member or relative. A professional photographer wonít be looking to get involved with the celebrations like a family member would.

A professional photographer wonít be tempted to chat with guests, grab a quick beer, or be first in line for cake when they should be taking an important shot. They will be concentrating on the job of getting the best possible pictures they can for your wedding.

Another thing to bear in mind is that wedding guests tend to respond to photoshoots better when they are being arranged by professional wedding photographers. If you have a member of your family taking photos of everyone, guests might not take the photo sessions so seriously.

The Style of the Photography

If you are looking for photography that captures a certain style, then you should hire a photographer that is proficient in that style. How many amateurs do you think are even aware of the differences between fine art, contemporary, traditional, or photojournalistic photography styles?

Are you certain that theyíre going to be able to provide you with the photos that you dream of? Often, this is not the case. Take a bit of time to understand what it is you want and then hire a photographer that can deliver that style. Once you have a style in mind, hire a photographer that can picture what it is you want.

Communication and Reliability

There are numerous other factors that contribute to a professional photographer being a better choice than an amateur photographer or enthusiast. A professional photographer will have the experience to ensure that photo sessions remain within the schedule and do not detract from other parts of the day.

A professional will be able to carry the wedding party along and subtly communicate where your guests need to be. They have the experience to do so using body language, cues and verbally, without obstructing your guests, or spoiling the celebration of your big day in Golden-Cross. An amateur photographer, no matter how much effort they put in, will not be able to maintain a balance between the necessary distance, humour, intimacy and support while still getting the perfect shots.

Expert Wedding Photographers Give You more

Of all the people around you on your wedding day, your wedding photographer will probably be with you most. They will be with you from the preamble shots all the way to the departure.

Your photographer remains constantly around you, having been hired to capture every memory and every moment without being noticed. If a photographer knows what theyíre doing, they wonít be noticed throughout the day. Your photographer will ensure every shot is perfect and no detail is amiss, such as a lipstick stain on the teeth, or button holes that are wonky.

Their detailed focus will help you fix any little issues and get better photos. Your wedding planner will have lots of other things to do and wonít shadow you all day in Golden-Cross, not like your photographer will. The photographer will help the wedding party be where they need to be, when they need to be and to be as calm as they should be.

A Patient Demeanor

Itís really important that you hire a wedding photographer that puts you at ease. Youíre going to be spending a lot of time with this person on your wedding day. You want that decision to feel right at every moment of the day.

The wedding photographer should be technically excellent, patient, empathetic and a great planner. They need to go with the flow and be able to make your personality shine brightly on your special day in Golden-Cross. Rarely does a wedding go exactly to plan and a wedding photographer should always remain calm and in control throughout the day. An experienced wedding photographer will flow with the event and will be quick to adapt, always remaining professional.

What to Expect When You Hire a Wedding Photographer?

Often people have never been in front of a professional camera before their wedding day. This can be a source of anxiety and worry, especially for those that donít like the way they look in photographs.

With time invested in choosing the right wedding photographer in Golden-Cross that will gel with you, you can feel comfortable that certain things will happen along the way.

Theyíll Be There on Time and Be Professional

If you hire people for the right reasons, such as their passion, reputation and having looked at their work, professionalism will be a given. Your wedding photographer should be punctual, personable and on time for your wedding schedule, as well as dressed appropriately. Your photographer should arrive early on the day, to scout the location having probably visited relevant locations several times already.

The Day Before the Wedding - the Rehearsal

It is customary for church wedding ceremonies to have a rehearsal a few days before the big day. In many cases you photographer will choose to attend this event and to speak to the presiding minister about where they can and cannot stand and what they can and cannot do during ceremony. If you choose to have a civil ceremony, then it will most likely be a chat with a registrar on the day of the wedding in Golden-Cross.

The Day Arrives – the Wedding

Your photographer will arrive at the agreed time to capture the bridal presentations. He will be there for the rest of the day but will not interrupt the flow in any way. The goal at Jeff Woodall photography is to ensure that every precious moment is captured, but to remain unobtrusive and in the background until such a time as you have questions to answer, or you need some help. Itís crucial to the team at Jeff Woodall photography that every precious memory is captured on camera and that we remain unobtrusive, so the day can play out naturally; we are of course available for any questions and we strive to raise the spirits of everyone in the party.

At a certain time in the evening, usually after the first dance, your photographer will approach you to see if thereís anything else you would like him to capture. If you are satisfied that your photographer has captured the day, he will begin the process of backing up all of the photos. All the photos will be fully backed up by Jeff Woodall photography, on 2 hard drives and the backups will be kept save until all wedding photos have been edited and delivered to you. We fully understand that your photographs are precious and need to be looked after.

Editing Wedding Photographs

The editing of wedding photographs takes place in the days after the wedding in Golden-Cross and is a crucial part of the wedding photography process. The first step is to select the best images that tell the story of your wedding. Every selected photograph is edited using a light touch approach with only a few subtle edits.

The images that Jeff Woodall photography produce are always beautifully sharp. During post processing, the images undergo some minor editing. They are colour balanced and cropped. Style filters may be applied to some of your wedding images to create a specific look and some will be converted to black and white.

When the editing process is complete, the photos are exported from the suite of editing tools and the files uploaded to an online password protected gallery for viewing and also uploaded to a USB stick; you can then distribute the photos as you want and share on social media. We know that you’ll want to be sharing your beautiful wedding photos online and giving access to your family and friends. So, weíll provide instructions of how to share your online gallery access with everyone you want to and weíll provide you with a USB stick with high-definition pictures as well.

Client support - follow-up

Jeff Woodall photography will always be on hand, accessible to talk about wedding photo album options and the design of wedding photo books if you so require them. Early on you’ll probably decide if you want a digital photo book album and the different colours and styles that you will require, but it’ll probably take you a while after your wedding ceremony to decide which of the images you are going to want to include.

Your photographer will guide you through how many photos to choose and how best to tell the story and we’ll probably suggest around 80 photos. Your photographer will then begin to design the album for you.

Number of hours for the shoot in Golden-Cross

Generally, a photographer will use time as one of the main methods to price an assignment. At Jeff Woodall Photography we tend to use this method of pricing for events and for portraits, but we understand that each wedding has a bespoke schedule and that we need to be flexible to go with the day and so we work a little differently.

If you have looked around already, then you probably know that photographers frequently have different packages that they offer such as a ëPlatinumí, ëgoldí, ëSilverí and a ëBronzeí package in Golden-Cross. It all gets quite complicated, especially if different photo album packages are also added to the mix. I find it works better to have a set price for a full day’s coverage. Iím yours for the day and won’t mind doing the odd extra hour and won’t be clock-watching. Accommodation and travel to and from weddings. For wedding ceremonies that are a long way away and need significant travel or even flights, there would be some negotiation required over accommodation, fuel, flights, food and refreshments.

Wedding photography Services List

Below is a summary list of wedding photography services :

Some of the differences between wedding styles explained

Fine Art Photography

Photojournalistic photographers will tend not to take so many traditional shots and nor do fine art photographers. Events, people and elements are photographed with a more artistic approach, with the use of various lighting techniques. Typically, a fine art photographer in Golden-Cross is highly skilled at creating and staging photos that are artistic and beautifully full of drama, applying filters to photos during editing, including often using monochrome conversions.

Vintage Style Photography

This style of photography was borne partly from the popularity of vintage photo filters. More and more weddings are seeing photographers using a vintage photography style. With vintage images there is certainly a timeless quality that can stir nostalgic emotion, which may be the cause of such an increase in the appeal of this artistic style. The use of colour filters and lighting can help to transform images into works of art during the process of capturing images of a vintage theme in Golden-Cross.

Traditional or Classical

Even apparently spontaneous shots are often treated as staged portrait pictures with traditional or classical photography. With traditional or classical wedding photography, it’s unlikely that you’ll get lots of action and movement in photos, but the images shouldnít feel unnaturally forced either. Traditional photographers are likely to want to record of the formalities of the wedding ceremony and to portray the dignity and meaning of the ceremony, with subtle lighting.

Photojournalistic or Reportage

This style of photography is less about orchestrating and creating moments to capture on camera, than reporting those special moments of the day. With this type of photography, you’ll get the happy shots of guests together during the day, as well as more spontaneous and candid photos; the obligatory group shots and the formal bride and groom photos will of course also be included. Photographers with a photojournalistic style will shy away from orchestrating too many moments during the day, except those formal group shots, or bride and groom images they need to take. They prefer to record close-ups of the bride, groom and wedding guests and really document the dayís actual emotions and feelings.

Black and White (Monochrome)

This style is excellent for timeless, classical, emotion-packed photographs. Many clients appreciate how the nostalgia and mood of images can be enhanced by removing colour. Preference is what matters here. Not everyone prefers monochrome images, but there’s no doubt that photographs can be made more compelling by emphasising areas of focus and the composition with this method. The extra contrast of black and monochrome images can really evoke a certain atmosphere that colour sometimes simply cannot.

Colour Popped and HDR Techniques

Attention to detail during the shoot and excellent editing skills are required for this type of photography technique. The users of HDR and colour popped photography techniques, carefully choose the scenes they shoot in order to create images that are striking, with vibrant colours which draw the viewersí attention to a particular area of the image.
