Why you should hire a pro-photographer for your wedding day.

If you’re getting married soon, you’ve probably done the majority of the necessary planning. You’ve planned the catering side of things, chosen the cake and booked the venue. Your wedding dress is getting its final alterations, your flowers are all on order and the decorations and table centrepieces are all in hand.

The wedding photographs are next on the list. Perhaps you are considering the option of asking a relative to bring their amateur photography skills to your wedding.

It wouldn’t cost you anything and you can save yourself some money to budget for other things. This is certainly not the way to go.

You should hire a professional wedding photographer

Benefits of hiring pro-wedding photography

The photography equipment and software that a professional wedding photographer you hire in High-Salvington will use will ensure that you get the best quality images possible.

The professional wedding photographer you hire in High-Salvington will be able to capture fantastic images with their skill, state-of-the-art cameras and equipment and edited to a superb standard using the latest software.

The quality of the photographs is determined by far more than just the camera that is taking them. The dramatic improvement in camera phones means that it is very tempting to try and save money on your wedding photos. This could probably be one of the biggest mistakes you make. Everyone desires photographs that are skillfully composed and expertly captured for their wedding day. Let me explain a bit more about how a wedding photographer in High-Salvington can add value to your photos and why it’s worth paying for them.

Experts with their camera gear and a host of external factors, such as weather conditions. A photographerís resultant images will not be as impressive as they could be if they don’t have a variety of camera lenses and the knowledge and skills to use them, together with various lighting options. Professional wedding photographers have more photographic equipment in their armoury and also have more experience using different setups to capture stunning images. DSLR cameras are accessible to most amateurs, but their full potential is only really realised in the hands of experienced pros. The types of camera equipment being utilised is important, but just as important is the skill of the photographer that is using them. The ideal scenario is that you have the best equipment available and a highly skilled professional photographer to be able to get the most out of it. This includes choosing the right equipment and camera settings for indoor and outdoor shots at the venue and the changing conditions at both.

Photographerís Roles

Another reason to hire a professional wedding photographer in High-Salvington, rather than trusting a family member or a friend with the task, is it they will be less distracted. A professional photographer wonít be looking to get involved with the celebrations like a family member would.

They wonít miss that crucial loving moment because theyíre eating cake, downing a beer, or chatting with wedding guests. Their focus will be 100% on getting every possible moment captured on camera.

Something else that is a factor is that wedding guests tend to respect photo opportunities much more when they are gently marshalled by professional photographers. If a relative is trying to organise a photo session, it might end up far less organised than if a professional were doing it.

Skill with Different Styles of Photography

If you want a specific style of photography, you should hire a professional photographer whose style matches yours. If you want to ask an amateur photographer, the chances are that theyíre not familiar with the differences between traditional, contemporary, fine art, or photojournalistic styles.

Can an amateur photographer capture photos the way you want them? Often, they wonít be able to. Take some time to consider the photography styles you want to make sure that the wedding photographer you hire is in sync with you. Go with a professional photographer who can quickly understand what it is you are trying to achieve.

Communication Skills and Timeliness

A professional photographer really is a better choice than going for an amateur relative or enthusiast friend in most cases and there are lots of other reasons why. Any wedding day has tough moments to overcome, whether it is getting a large group together while meeting a deadline with a photoshoot in session and a professional brings a mass of experience to help deal with this.

A professional wedding photographer will get people where they need to be for each photo and plan all the photo sessions to ensure no one gets missed out, or no opportunity is missed. They have the experience to do so using body language, cues and verbally, without obstructing your guests, or spoiling the celebration of your big day in High-Salvington. Amateur photographers find it incredibly difficult to maintain the necessary distance, humour, intimacy and support along with effectively communicating to get the perfect shot.

Professional Wedding Photographers Are a Better Choice

The wedding photographer is around all day, spending time with you on your wedding day. They will photograph you getting ready and spending time before the event and perhaps be around all the way until you leave the venue.

Your photographer remains constantly around you, having been hired to capture every memory and every moment without being noticed. If they know what theyíre doing, you wonít even notice them. Your photographer will ensure every shot is perfect and no detail is amiss, such as a lipstick stain on the teeth, or button holes that are wonky.

They will be there to inform you of this and help you try to fix it. Your wedding planner will spend far less time with you during the day in High-Salvington than your photographer will. The photographer will ensure that the wedding party are at the right place at the right time and calm everyone throughout any anxious or emotional moments.

Patience Is the Key

Every wedding couple needs to hire a photographer that they feel comfortable around. Considering the amount of time this individual is going to be a major part of your wedding day, you need to choose wisely. You want that decision to feel right at every moment of the day.

The professional photographer must have a great deal of patience, empathy, technical skill and great communication skills. With the camera, they need to ensure that you and your personality shines through on your wedding day in High-Salvington. A professional will remain calm and in control even when things donít always go exactly to plan. An experienced wedding photographer will flow with the event and will be quick to adapt, always remaining professional.

Your Wedding Photographer and What to Expect?

In many cases the day of the wedding is the first time people are in front of a professionalís camera. Those that are camera shy, or donít particularly like how they look in photos, can feel anxious and worried about having a camera pointing at them all day.

Having invested some time to choose the right wedding photographer, you can be assured that they will do certain things to make the process less stressful.

Do you need a quality, friendly and relaxed professional photographer for your Wedding? Give me call today.

Promptness and Professionalism

You can be reassured that the photographer will be professional by researching their reputation, their previous work and their passion for what they do. Itís important that the wedding photographer you choose gets there on time, has a great attitude and gets on with people. Your wedding photographer should arrive before they need to, so that they can get a feel for the venues and the best places to get the shots that you desire.

The Wedding Rehearsal on the Day Before the Wedding

If you plan to have a church ceremony, then itís customary to have a rehearsal a day or a week before. Your wedding photographer may well want to attend this wedding rehearsal to speak to the Vicar about where to stand during the ceremony and to find out more about the venue. With civil ceremonies, the photographers will normally have a discussion with the registrar prior to the wedding starting in High-Salvington.

Wedding Day (The big day)

Your wedding photographer will normally arrive to capture the bridal presentations, at a pre agreed time. You will have his undivided attention for the whole day, but without interrupting in any way. Jeff Woodall photographyís ethos is to be very subtle, at staying in the background without interrupting the day, but being available to keep spirits high and answer any difficult questions, making sure that every single memory is captured in digital format. The goal at Jeff Woodall photography is to ensure that every precious moment is captured, but to remain unobtrusive and in the background until such a time as you have questions to answer, or you need some help.

Your wedding photographer will have a discussion with you sometime after the first dance to find out if you need any more precious moments captured. If you decide to call it a day, the photographer will start their backup process. Every photo will be stored on a reliable backup storage device and kept safe until such a time as the photos have been through the full editing process and have been delivered to you to your satisfaction. We understand just how precious your photographs are to you.

Wedding Photo Editing

Editing is a crucial stage in the wedding photography process and will be completed within the days that follow the event in High-Salvington. To tell the story of the wedding day the pictures need to capture the moments and so the first stage is going through all the photos and picking the best ones. A light edit is carried out on the images to ensure that it is subtle and natural.

Jeff Woodall photography provide clients with images that are high resolution. During post processing, the images undergo some minor editing. They are colour balanced and cropped. Various effects can be achieved during the post processing of your images, including monochrome conversions.

When the editing process is complete, the photos are exported from the suite of editing tools and the files uploaded to an online password protected gallery for viewing and also uploaded to a USB stick; you can then distribute the photos as you want and share on social media. If you want to share access to your wedding photos on your own online gallery, weíll give you instructions on how to do so, as well as providing a high-definition backup of all your photos on a USB stick.

After care

Jeff Woodall photography will be available for everything else you need; to talk about albums, or the types of bespoke wedding photo books that can be designed for you. Even if you’ve set your mind to the style and design of your digital photo book album, it can take a bit of time after the wedding day to decide on which photos to include.

In most cases the photo book capacity will be around 80 images. Your photographer then begins the design work to create your stunning album.

How much time you want for the shoot in High-Salvington

Photographers will normally price up based on the likely time involved. With weddings, we understand that exact timings and schedule are very individual and that they need to go with the flow of your day. We need to be flexible and so we tend to take a different approach to pricing our wedding packages.

Many photographers (and I used to) offer a range of packages in High-Salvington, such as ëPlatinumí, ëGoldí, ëSilveríand ëBronzeí. When you start adding extras to these packages it all becomes a bit of a logistical nightmare to understand or work out the overall price. I find it works better to have a set price for a full day’s coverage. I don’t quibble over the extra hour we were there, due to late starts etc. We know you don’t want to have an extra hour billed after the event, just because your schedule fell behind and the eight hours you paid for in the ëSilver packageí didn’t cover the full day. In cases where weddings are overseas, or in remote locations, there would need to be some negotiation regarding fuel or flights, food and accommodation.

Wedding photography Services List

Below is a summary list of wedding photography services :

What are the differences between all these different styles?

Fine Art Photography

Photojournalistic photographers will tend not to take so many traditional shots and nor do fine art photographers. Rather, they photograph with an appreciation for the artistic side of people, the lighting options and the overall drama of the scene. Fine Art photographers in High-Salvington have a flair for the dramatic and always looking for the artistic side when composing and staging their photos, often using different filters, including black and white.

Vintage Style Photography

This style of photography was borne partly from the popularity of vintage photo filters. More and more couples are choosing vintage wedding photography as their wedding style for their photographs. Photographs of the Vintage style are timeless, old and has the power to stir emotions in people, which is perhaps why the style has become so appealing. Vintage photography done well in High-Salvington, transforms ordinary images into artistic work of art using colour filters and various props and lighting tricks.

Traditional or Classical

With traditional or classical photography, nearly every picture is considered to be a posed portrait, even those moments that may appear to be more spontaneous. You’re less likely to get action shots with this type of photography, although every moment will be captured in a natural way that doesn’t feel forced or posed. Traditional photographers are likely to want to record of the formalities of the wedding ceremony and to portray the dignity and meaning of the ceremony, with subtle lighting.

Photojournalistic or Reportage

Photojournalism looks to record moments on camera, rather than orchestrating specific staged shots. As always, the necessary formal shots will be taken, as well as a number of spontaneous happy shots group shots during the day. Photojournalistic photographers prefer to capture spontaneous emotions and reactions, often by the use of close ups and candid techniques, they have a general philosophy of freezing that authentic moment in time, rather than creating orchestrated poses and scenes.

Black and White (Monochrome)

This style is excellent for timeless, classical, emotion-packed photographs. Colour images are preferred by some clients, while some appreciate how the mood of their photos can be enhanced by the desaturation of colours. Preference is what matters here. By using monochrome techniques, you can really bring out the essence of the subject of a photograph, although not everyone likes this style. Black and white photographs have the capacity to really enhance the atmosphere of an image, that is sometimes lost in the colour option.

Colour Popped and HDR Techniques

Attention to detail during the shoot and excellent editing skills are required for this type of photography technique. The photographer chooses the appropriate moment with which to use these techniques, finally skillfully uses the right processing software to produce quality images with colours that pop and emphasises particular areas of a scene.
