Why a professional photographer is the right choice for your wedding

If your wedding is coming up soon then you have probably planned most of the necessities. The venue is all booked and planned, the cake is being made and your catering is sorted. You’ve tried on and love your wedding dress and have chosen table decorations and flowers.

You are now thinking about capturing the precious memories of your big day as photographic images. Your uncle is a good amateur photographer and perhaps you’re considering asking him.

That way you can save yourself some money, diverting the cash to other areas of your budget. This really is not the way that you should proceed.

Your wedding photos should be entrusted to a professional wedding photographer

It’s a much better idea to have a professional photographer get it right, than save some money and have an amateur photographer miss those important big and little details! The photographer only has seconds to capture those once in a lifetime moment in photos that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

The benefits of having a professional wedding photographer

Hiring a professional wedding photographer in Downside means you will be left with pictures of the best quality, created using the best skills and equipment available.

Using their knowledge and skills, together with camera and equipment of superior technology and editing with the latest software, your wedding photographer in Downside will be able to produce beautiful and unique images that will make your day..

The equipment that wedding photographers use goes far beyond the camera, which is only a part of what it takes to achieve the quality photography you need at your wedding. But for many, who perceive that smartphone cameras are amazing, it is really tempting to try and cut costs on your wedding photography. Many have found this to be a big mistake. We know everyone wants the best possible photos they can get for their wedding. Let’s delve deeper into what a professional wedding photographer in Downside can bring to your wedding day and how they add value.

A detailed knowledge of their camera equipment and how to deal with variable lighting conditions. A photographer won’t be able to do the best job possible if they don’t have the lighting options or lenses they need, or the skill to use them. Professional wedding photographers tend to have much better equipment and much more experience in using a diverse range of setups. Although DSLR cameras are available to anyone, it takes experience and proficiency to capture the best possible photos and get the most out of any camera. Both the camera equipment and the photographer are equally important in creating and capturing great photos. The ideal scenario is that you have the best equipment available and a highly skilled professional photographer to be able to get the most out of it. The lighting available at your venue, in the church and outside the church or in any other outdoor setting will vay markedly; it takes skill and appreciation to consistently take great photos in different lighting situations.

The Photographerís Role

One other very good reason to hire a professional wedding photographer in Downside, instead of using a relative, is that theyíre less likely to become distracted. When you pay a professional photographer, theyíre there to do a job, whereas a family member is more likely to be looking to enjoy the celebrations.

They wonít miss that crucial loving moment because theyíre eating cake, downing a beer, or chatting with wedding guests. They will be concentrating on the job of getting the best possible pictures they can for your wedding.

Wedding guests are also far more likely to respond to a professional, paid wedding photographer than they would be to a relative barking orders. If a relative is trying to organise a photo session, it might end up far less organised than if a professional were doing it.

Diverse Styles of Photography

In order to get a specific photographic style, you need a professional photographer whose style matches what youíre looking for. If you asked the majority of amateur photographers what the difference is between fine art, contemporary, traditional or photojournalistic photography styles, most wouldnít have a clue.

Can they deliver what you want the way you want it? Quite often, they will not be able to. Take a bit of time to understand what it is you want and then hire a photographer that can deliver that style. Choose a professional who can immediately understand your style ideas when you explain them.

Communication and Reliability

There are many more reasons that a professional photographer is a better choice than using a relative or enthusiast. A professional photographer will have the experience to ensure that photo sessions remain within the schedule and do not detract from other parts of the day.

A professional wedding photographer will be able to communicate effectively and persuasively with guests to ensure they are where they need to be. They will use body language and verbal messages, without imposing on your guests, to run through the necessary formalities whilst enhancing the celebration of your wedding day in Downside. Maintaining a balance between holding a distance as a photographer but getting involved to encourage people is a very difficult balance to strike and very few amateurs have the experience to do it.

Professional Wedding Photographers Provide More

You spend more time with your wedding photographer than anyone else on your wedding day. From the shots of you getting ready and preparing to go to church all the way to the moment you leave the wedding venue, the photographer is there.

Your wedding photographer is always near you, having been engaged to capture the emotion and style of your day in its entirety. If theyíre good at their job, youíll hardly notice theyíre there. The photographer is the one who notices every detail out of place such as lipstick stains on the teeth, or wonky button holes etc.

By fixing any little issues they can help you get better images. The planner of your wedding will be with you for far less of the day in Downside than your photographer will. The photographer will help the wedding party and guests be where they need to be and help to calm any emotions.

A Patient Demeanor

As a wedding couple, you should engage the services of a wedding photographer that helps you feel comfortable. The amount of time youíre going to spend with this person on your special day really is significant. The person you have decided on needs to be the right one.

The professional photographer must have a great deal of patience, empathy, technical skill and great communication skills. With the camera, they need to ensure that you and your personality shines through on your wedding day in Downside. A professional will remain calm and in control even when things donít always go exactly to plan. An experienced wedding photographer will flow with the event and will be quick to adapt, always remaining professional.

Hiring a Wedding Photographer and What to Expect?

For most people, the wedding day will be the first time they find themselves in front of a professional photographerís camera lens. This can cause anxiety, especially if you are camera shy or tend to look awkward in photographs.

Having spent some time considering the best professional wedding photographer in Downside to match the styles you want, you can now rest assured that they will do certain things to make the process run smoothly.

Do you need a quality, friendly and relaxed professional photographer for your Wedding? Give me call today.

Good Time Keeping and Professional Standards

You can be reassured that the photographer will be professional by researching their reputation, their previous work and their passion for what they do. Your photographer should be friendly, polite, punctual and appropriately dressed for the event. Your photographer should get to your wedding venues earlier than the guests so that they can get a feel for the environment; they will probably have been to some of the venues already in order to understand the limitations and possibilities.

Rehearsals for the Wedding Day

Church weddings tend to have a rehearsal date within a week of the main event. Your wedding photographer may well want to attend this wedding rehearsal to speak to the Vicar about where to stand during the ceremony and to find out more about the venue. The registrar will normally be consulted on the day of the wedding with civil ceremonies, in order for the wedding photographer to get the information they need.

Wedding Day (The big day)

Your photographer will be there to take pictures of bridal presentations, or at whatever time you have agreed beforehand. He will be there for the rest of the day but will not interrupt the flow in any way. Jeff Woodall photography will be poised to capture all of the beautiful moments through the day, without intruding in any way. Jeff Woodall photography will be poised to capture all of the beautiful moments through the day, without intruding in any way.

Your wedding photographer will have a discussion with you sometime after the first dance to find out if you need any more precious moments captured. The backup process will begin once your photographer has completed their work. Jeff Woodall photography backs up all wedding pictures captured on the day to separate hard drives and then keeps them safe in a permanent backup until the end of the editing stage and provided to you. We understand just how precious your photographs are to you.

Wedding Photo Editing

Editing the images is an important part of preparing your wedding photography package, completed in the days after the wedding event in Downside. To tell the story of the wedding day the pictures need to capture the moments and so the first stage is going through all the photos and picking the best ones. The pictures that have been chosen, then go through a subtle editing approach, with light touches to enhance the images.

Jeff Woodall photography only use beautifully sharp images. Images are cropped and have their colours balanced where necessary, but is limited to minor adjustments. Style filters may be applied to some of your wedding images to create a specific look and some will be converted to black and white.

Once through the editing process, the images are exported to both USB and an online password protected gallery, for viewing by everyone that you want to give access. Instructions on how to access the gallery which you can share with friends and family will be sent to you along with a USB stick containing high resolution images that you can easily share online.

Here to help after event

Once you have your photos, you’ll be looking for a way to present them and Jeff Woodall photography will be available to discuss the design of wedding photo books and to talk you through wedding album options. If you have already decided on a digital photo book album and know the style choices you want to go for, it’ll probably still take you a little while after the wedding to decide on which images to include.

You’ll probably be asked to pick your favorite 80 photographs that depict the story of your day and you can ask your photographer any questions to guide you on this. Your photographer then begins the design work to create your stunning album.

How many hours of shooting in Downside

Typically, a photographer will work out pricing based on the number of hours they need to put into any assignment. I often use this for portrait and events but in terms of weddings, I have simplified the process to a large extent, due to the flexible nature of the day and the fact that each wedding is quite different and difficult to predict in terms of exact timings.

I used to offer a variety of wedding packages in Downside, just as many photographers still do, such as ëPlatinumí, ëGoldí, ëSilverí and ëBronzeí. What exactly gets delivered becomes complicated, especially in those cases where additional options are added to these package deals. I find it works better to have a set price for a full day’s coverage. Obviously, this is within reason, but I tend to arrive well early to get shots of getting ready and to remain long after the first dance, because there is still additional photographic value to be had. We know you don’t want to have an extra hour billed after the event, just because your schedule fell behind and the eight hours you paid for in the ëSilver packageí didn’t cover the full day. If your wedding destination is a long way away, weíll need to negotiate expenses for accommodation, flights, fuel and food.

Wedding photography Services List

Below is a summary list of wedding photography services :

A Look at the Differences in Styles

Fine Art Photography

Photojournalistic specialists and fine art photographers donít normally tend to shoot many purely traditional images. Events, people and elements are photographed with a more artistic approach, with the use of various lighting techniques. The beautifully composed photos that fine art photographers take in Downside tend to have an artistic and dramatic quality and they often apply striking filters and convert images to black and white.

Vintage Style Photography

This style of photography was borne partly from the popularity of vintage photo filters. The number of wedding couples that choose to have vintage wedding photography has grown fast. This style of photography can evoke feelings of nostalgia and the old and timeless nature of that style really seems to appeal to people. Through the use of various methods, such as colour filters used in this style, professional photographers are able to transform pretty standard looking images into works of art.

Traditional or Classical

Even apparently spontaneous shots are often treated as staged portrait pictures with traditional or classical photography. Although the photographs won’t feel overly posed or artificial, you probably won’t get many action shots in the wedding album. Traditional photographers will want to capture precious moments and formalities with artistic style and integrity and will look for shots that will work using that style during the wedding ceremony.

Photojournalistic or Reportage

Similar to a documentary style, photojournalism photography is about recording the event, rather than orchestrating them. With this type of shot you will get all of the expected group and formal shots, as well as lots more spontaneous images as well as the normal ësmile for the cameraí roundups of guests throughout the day. The photo journalistic photographer is all about immortalizing the spontaneous reactions and emotions of the day as they happen, rather than orchestrating and staging their images.

Black and White (Monochrome)

The black and white style is excellent for creating nostalgic and timeless photographs. Colour images are preferred by some clients, while some appreciate how the mood of their photos can be enhanced by the desaturation of colours. Everyone has a different preference. Not everyone prefers monochrome images, but there’s no doubt that photographs can be made more compelling by emphasising areas of focus and the composition with this method. Black and white images can be effective in portraying an atmospheric, or nostalgic and timeless feel, that is sometimes elusive in the colour version.

Colour Popped and HDR Techniques

Attention to detail during the shoot and excellent editing skills are required for this type of photography technique. This technique of photography [ HDR / colour popped] involves picking the right scenes and the right processing software to create highly appealing photographs with colours that pop and stunning detail that is striking for the viewer.
