Wedding Photography and Why It Is so Important?

There may well be things higher up on your list of priorities than hiring a wedding photographer in Three-Bridges, when it comes to planning your wedding.

However, it’s definitely something that deserves some prioritisation. It will make things much easier for you if you set a budget for your wedding images and get the photographer booked in Three-Bridges up for your special day in good time. It is vitally important that you hire a wedding photographer you can trust to capture the day with skill and expertise. Your wedding photo book will be revisited countless times over the years with your friends, your children and even perhaps your future grandchildren.

The photos of your wedding will rekindle memories as you look through them over and over again. When your wedding day in Three-Bridges has come and gone, your wedding dress and shoes will be packed away, the flowers will be gone and your wedding cake will be no more. but the photographs of your wedding will always be with you to share, enjoy, laugh and maybe cry over. So please take the time to find the right professional!

Why you should hire a pro-wedding photographer

If you’re getting married soon, you’ve probably done the majority of the necessary planning. Catering for the event is in hand, the wedding cake is chosen and the wedding venue is all booked. Your wedding dress is perfect, your wedding theme is arranged and the flowers chosen.

You’re now planning on the best way to achieve the quality photographs your big day deserves. Maybe you’ve thought about asking a relative or friend, who is an amateur photographer to take on the responsibility.

That would enable you to divert some of your budget to other areas of the wedding. This is certainly not the way to go.

Hiring a professional wedding photographer is the route you should take

The savings you make by using an amateur photographer are not worth the risk you are taking of being left with poor quality images to look back on. Remember, the glances, the smiles and the connections that happen at a wedding are subtle and to capture them photographically is a skill.

The benefits of having a professional wedding photographer

Having hired a professional wedding photographer in Three-Bridges, you are assured of the highest quality images, created and edited using the best expertise, cameras and photo editing software.

The professional wedding photographer you hire in Three-Bridges will be able to capture fantastic images with their skill, state-of-the-art cameras and equipment and edited to a superb standard using the latest software.

The equipment that wedding photographers use goes far beyond the camera, which is only a part of what it takes to achieve the quality photography you need at your wedding. The dramatic improvement in camera phones means that it is very tempting to try and save money on your wedding photos. They often make a big mistake doing so. We know everyone wants the best possible photos they can get for their wedding. Let’s delve deeper into what a professional wedding photographer in Three-Bridges can bring to your wedding day and how they add value.

Knowledge with the latest camera equipment and the use of it in varying situations. A photographerís resultant images will not be as impressive as they could be if they don’t have a variety of camera lenses and the knowledge and skills to use them, together with various lighting options. Professional wedding photographers are better, not just because of their skill and experience, but also the equipment that they use. DSLR cameras are accessible to most amateurs, but their full potential is only really realised in the hands of experienced pros. The type of equipment used is crucial, but just as if not more important, is the person handling the equipment. In order to get your dream photos, you need high end camera equipment and a wedding photographer with the experience, talent and knowledge to use it appropriately to its full potential. This includes choosing the right equipment and camera settings for indoor and outdoor shots at the venue and the changing conditions at both.

The Role the Photographer Plays

A professional wedding photographer in Three-Bridges is far less likely to be distracted by situations of the day than a family member or relative. The role of the professional photographer is very clearly defined, whereas a family member will likely want to get involved in the celebrations where possible.

They wonít miss that crucial loving moment because theyíre eating cake, downing a beer, or chatting with wedding guests. Theyíll be concentrating on the job in hand, candidly capturing some of the best images they can for the duration of the event.

Another thing to bear in mind is that wedding guests tend to respond to photoshoots better when they are being arranged by professional wedding photographers. If a relative is trying to organise a photo session, it might end up far less organised than if a professional were doing it.

Skill with Different Styles of Photography

If you have in mind a particular photographic style, then you should hire a professional that is an expert in that area or style. How many amateurs do you think are even aware of the differences between fine art, contemporary, traditional, or photojournalistic photography styles?

Are you willing to gamble that theyíre able to produce the pictures that you will treasure? Often, this is not the case. Donít rush into a decision; think about the style you want and get a photographer that can match it. Go with a professional photographer who can quickly understand what it is you are trying to achieve.

Communication and Reliability

There are lots of other reasons to choose a professional wedding photographer rather than choosing a relative, friend or enthusiast to take your photos. Any wedding day has tough moments to overcome, whether it is getting a large group together while meeting a deadline with a photoshoot in session and a professional brings a mass of experience to help deal with this.

A professional wedding photographer will have the communication skills to organise groups, move people and find out exactly what you want throughout the day. They will be able to use signals and body language, as well as their voice, to get people where they need to be in a pleasant way, enhancing the atmosphere of your celebration in Three-Bridges. Amateur photographers, no matter how hard they try, will find it hard to identify the right approach to photo sessions, being distant to a degree, professional, humorous, encouraging and supporting guests through the process, in order to capture those memorable shots.

Professional Wedding Photographers Provide More

You spend more time with your wedding photographer than anyone else on your wedding day. They will photograph you getting ready and spending time before the event and perhaps be around all the way until you leave the venue.

Your photographer remains constantly around you, having been hired to capture every memory and every moment without being noticed. Good wedding photographers will only be noticed when they need to organise a photo session. The photographer will notice if a picture is being spoiled by a lipstick stain on a collar, or a wonky handkerchief.

Your photographer will help you try and fix anything that could spoil a quality photo. Your wedding planner will have lots of other things to do and wonít shadow you all day in Three-Bridges, not like your photographer will. The photographer will help the wedding party be where they need to be, when they need to be and to be as calm as they should be.

Patience Is the Key

Every wedding couple needs to hire a photographer that they feel comfortable around. The amount of time youíre going to spend with this person on your special day really is significant. You want that decision to feel right at every moment of the day.

You need a technically proficient photographer with, empathy, patience, understanding and superb planning skills. It is their job to help the day in Three-Bridges flow and to bring out your personality and capture it with their photography skills. Even if things donít go exactly to plan, the wedding photographer will remain in control, calm and measured, as a reassuring presence. An expert wedding photographer is flexible and goes with the flow of the event, while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

What You Can Expect from a Wedding Photographer?

In many cases the day of the wedding is the first time people are in front of a professionalís camera. As well as being anxious about the big day, having a camera pointed at you all day can make you feel even more uncomfortable, especially if you feel that photos donít generally flatter you.

With time invested in choosing the right wedding photographer in Three-Bridges that will gel with you, you can feel comfortable that certain things will happen along the way.

A Professional Attitude and Good Time Keeping

Professionalism will shine through during your research into a photographer, while checking out their reputation, their enthusiasm for photography and their portfolio itself. Your wedding photographer should be punctual, personable and on time for your wedding schedule, as well as dressed appropriately. Your photographer should get to your wedding venues earlier than the guests so that they can get a feel for the environment; they will probably have been to some of the venues already in order to understand the limitations and possibilities.

The Day Before the Wedding - the Rehearsal

It is customary for church wedding ceremonies to have a rehearsal a few days before the big day. Your photographer may want to attend this to check the location and to have a brief discussion with the Vicar about where to stand during the service. In the case of a civil ceremony, the wedding photographer will tend to have the discussion with the registrar on the same day as the wedding in Three-Bridges.

Wedding Day (The big day)

Your wedding photographer will tend to arrive to take photos of the bridal presentations, the timings will have been agreed. He will stay with you for the entire day and will mirror you through the day without interrupting. Itís crucial to the team at Jeff Woodall photography that every precious memory is captured on camera and that we remain unobtrusive, so the day can play out naturally; we are of course available for any questions and we strive to raise the spirits of everyone in the party. Jeff Woodall photography prides itself on its ability to remain unobtrusive but to always be available for questions and to keep spirits high, ensuring that no beautifully precious moment is lost.

At some point in the night, often after the first dance, your wedding photographer will check with you to find out if thereís anything else you would like to be pictured. The photographer will start to backup the photos if you are happy that they have captured all the moments you need. All the photos will be fully backed up by Jeff Woodall photography, on 2 hard drives and the backups will be kept save until all wedding photos have been edited and delivered to you. We never underestimate the value of your photographs.

The Editing of Wedding Photographs

The editing of wedding photographs takes place in the days after the wedding in Three-Bridges and is a crucial part of the wedding photography process. At the start of the editing stage, the photos need to be sifted through so that the best ones can be selected. The selected photographs go through a light touch approach that enhances them subtly.

The images that are captured by Jeff Woodall photography are always crisp and sharp. During post processing, the images undergo some minor editing. They are colour balanced and cropped. Some of the pictures may be converted to monochrome and other style filters may be applied to further enhance the overall effects of your images.

The photos are then ready to be exported from the photo editing suite into an online password protected gallery, as well as uploaded to a USB stick and delivered to you, ready for sharing on social media and for printing. Sharing your wedding photos is great fun and so we provide you with the USB stick with high definition pictures and instructions of how to give access to your online gallery to friends and family.

Here to help after event

We know that you may want to put your photos in wedding photo books or maybe looking for a special wedding album and Jeff Woodall photography will be available to discuss how best to present your images after the wedding. You probably have decided beforehand whether you wish to opt for a digital photo book album, the styles and colours etc., but it won’t be a short time after the ceremony that you decide which images you would like it to contain.

80 images is around the number you should be looking to choose, but your photographer will guide you on this. Your photographer then begins the design work to create your stunning album.

Here is a summary of what you will typically find in a wedding photography package. Some of the details are given, others you may need to pay careful attention to. Number of events to be photographed

From the engagement party, the bridal shower, the wedding ceremony, reception and after party. This would equate to how many days the photographer provides to you and will be early on in the decision-making process. You need to communicate which events you want captured to get them in the diary.

The shoot duration in Three-Bridges

Photographers will normally price up based on the likely time involved. Each wedding is individual, with exact timings that differ and ad hoc things that happened during the day and so we work a little differently on wedding packages in order to remain flexible.

Many photographers (and I used to) offer a range of packages in Three-Bridges, such as ëPlatinumí, ëGoldí, ëSilveríand ëBronzeí. When you start adding extra options, wedding album packages, design and other things it can get quite complicated. I now offer a full day for a fixed price. I understand that there may be an extra hour here or there due to delays etc. The last thing you want to hear after that, is that you have been billed for an extra hour, as you only paid for the ëSilverí package of eight hours and for various reasons things ran late. In cases where weddings are overseas, or in remote locations, there would need to be some negotiation regarding fuel or flights, food and accommodation.

Wedding photography Services List

Below is a summary list of wedding photography services :

Different Styles and How They’re Different

Fine Art Photography

Photographers that concentrate on a fine art style, don’t usually take traditional shots, just as photojournalistic photographers donít. Events, people and elements are photographed with a more artistic approach, with the use of various lighting techniques. The Fine Art photographer in Three-Bridges prefers to pack their photos with art and drama, often using black and white as a filter.

Vintage Style Photography

Vintage photography is a style that has evolved and become increasingly more popular of late, helped by the emergence of vintage style filters. The market for couples who want vintage style weddings and photography has become quite large. Something about old, timeless photographs appeals to people, maybe itís the feeling of nostalgia which this style of photography evokes. Through the use of various methods, such as colour filters used in this style, professional photographers are able to transform pretty standard looking images into works of art.

Traditional or Classical

Even apparently spontaneous shots are often treated as staged portrait pictures with traditional or classical photography. You’re less likely to get action shots with this type of photography, although every moment will be captured in a natural way that doesn’t feel forced or posed. Traditional photographers will want to capture precious moments and formalities with artistic style and integrity and will look for shots that will work using that style during the wedding ceremony.

Photojournalistic or Reportage

Photojournalism looks to record moments on camera, rather than orchestrating specific staged shots. With this type of photography, you’ll get the happy shots of guests together during the day, as well as more spontaneous and candid photos; the obligatory group shots and the formal bride and groom photos will of course also be included. Photojournalistic photographers prefer to capture spontaneous emotions and reactions, often by the use of close ups and candid techniques, they have a general philosophy of freezing that authentic moment in time, rather than creating orchestrated poses and scenes.

Black and White (Monochrome)

This can be an effective way to present classic, timeless images. Although many clients prefer colour photographs, a large number also appreciate the way that removing colour can enhance the mood captured in images. It really comes down to what you prefer. Using monochrome can enhance pictures by helping the subject and composition of photos really come to life. Removing the colour from images and creating black and white can evoke a certain ambience within photographs that colour sometimes lacks.

Colour Popped and HDR Techniques

This aspect of photography employs techniques that require attention to detail in both the shooting, as well as the final processing. The photographer that uses HDR and colour popped techniques will use them sparingly, only with the right images, to maximise the impact of those colour popped or high dynamic scenes.
