Your wedding images will be the way you share your memories of the day with friends, family, children and future generations.

The photos of your wedding will rekindle memories as you look through them over and over again. The day after your wedding in West-Wittering, your wedding dress will be packed away, your shoes boxed up, the flowers will wither and you’ll be finishing off the last crumbs of the wedding cake. but the photographs of your wedding will always be with you to share, enjoy, laugh and maybe cry over. So please take the time to find the right professional!

Why you should hire a pro-wedding photographer

If you’re getting married soon, you’ve probably done the majority of the necessary planning. You’ve planned the catering side of things, chosen the cake and booked the venue. Your wedding dress is getting its final alterations, your flowers are all on order and the decorations and table centrepieces are all in hand.

The wedding photographs are next on the list. Maybe you’ve thought about asking a relative or friend, who is an amateur photographer to take on the responsibility.

It wouldn’t cost you anything and you can save yourself some money to budget for other things. This is definitely a path you should avoid.

Hiring a professional wedding photographer is the route you should take

The benefits of hiring a professional photographer far outweigh the ultimate cost of having an amateur photographer taking your photos for free! Remember, some special moments happen only once in a lifetime, yet the photos will stay with you forever.

Benefits of hiring pro-wedding photography

When you choose to hire a professional wedding photographer in West-Wittering the pictures you receive will be quality, in high resolution, captured with the best photography equipment and edited with skill, using professional editing software.

The professional wedding photographer you hire in West-Wittering will be able to capture fantastic images with their skill, state-of-the-art cameras and equipment and edited to a superb standard using the latest software.

The physical equipment such as cameras, is just part of the equation in terms of capturing the best photographic images. The dramatic improvement in camera phones means that it is very tempting to try and save money on your wedding photos. This is a big mistake. Everyone wants beautifully composed and captured photographs of their wedding day. We’ll take a more in depth look now at what you get when you hire a professional wedding photographer in West-Wittering, which adds that extra value and makes it worth your while.

Experts with their camera gear and a host of external factors, such as weather conditions. A photographerís resultant images will not be as impressive as they could be if they don’t have a variety of camera lenses and the knowledge and skills to use them, together with various lighting options. Professional wedding photographers are better, not just because of their skill and experience, but also the equipment that they use. Experienced professionals can get the most out of a DSLR camera due to their experience and skill, although anyone can take a picture with one. The types of camera equipment being utilised is important, but just as important is the skill of the photographer that is using them. The ideal situation is that you have an expert photographer who can use top of the range equipment to its full potential. The lighting available at your venue, in the church and outside the church or in any other outdoor setting will vay markedly; it takes skill and appreciation to consistently take great photos in different lighting situations.

The Role of the Photographer

One other very good reason to hire a professional wedding photographer in West-Wittering, instead of using a relative, is that theyíre less likely to become distracted. When you pay a professional photographer, theyíre there to do a job, whereas a family member is more likely to be looking to enjoy the celebrations.

A photographer wonít be off-duty, drinking alcohol or eating cake when they should be capturing an important shot. Their focus will be 100% on getting every possible moment captured on camera.

Another thing to consider is that guests are more likely to respect photoshoots when theyíre aware that the photographers are paid professionals. If a relative is trying to organise a photo session, it might end up far less organised than if a professional were doing it.

Skill with Different Styles of Photography

If you have in mind a particular photographic style, then you should hire a professional that is an expert in that area or style. If you asked the majority of amateur photographers what the difference is between fine art, contemporary, traditional or photojournalistic photography styles, most wouldnít have a clue.

Can an amateur photographer capture photos the way you want them? Quite often, they will not be able to. Take a bit of time to understand what it is you want and then hire a photographer that can deliver that style. Once you have a style in mind, hire a photographer that can picture what it is you want.

A Great Communicator and Reliable, too

A professional photographer is normally a much better choice than an amateur photographer or enthusiast and weíve already touched on a few other reasons so far. A professional photographer brings a lot of experience of weddings to the table and can help you to stay on track with the schedule and find the right balance between getting things done and blending into the background.

A professional photographer will be able to communicate effectively with your guests and keep the photo sessions flowing, by effectively getting people where they need to be. They will be able to use signals and body language, as well as their voice, to get people where they need to be in a pleasant way, enhancing the atmosphere of your celebration in West-Wittering. Getting the perfect picture often involves striking a balance between being distant, but also being encouraging and supportive, humorous and amateurs rarely have the skills to do it.

Professional Wedding Photographers Are a Better Choice

Of all the people around you on your wedding day, your wedding photographer will probably be with you most. From the shots of you getting ready and preparing to go to church all the way to the moment you leave the wedding venue, the photographer is there.

Your wedding photographer remains with you throughout every special moment of the day, capturing memories and blending into the background. Good wedding photographers will only be noticed when they need to organise a photo session. The photographer is the one who notices every detail out of place such as lipstick stains on the teeth, or wonky button holes etc.

They are there to help you get the best pictures and will try and fix anything that is in the way of that goal. Your wedding planner will have lots of other things to do and wonít shadow you all day in West-Wittering, not like your photographer will. The photographer will help the wedding party be where they need to be, when they need to be and to be as calm as they should be.

Patience Is the Key

As a couple, you need to hire a professional photographer that you are comfortable with. Considering the amount of time this individual is going to be a major part of your wedding day, you need to choose wisely. You want that decision to feel right at every moment of the day.

The professional photographer will have to be technically skilled, with an added mix of patience, experience and understanding. With the camera, they need to ensure that you and your personality shines through on your wedding day in West-Wittering. Rarely does a wedding go exactly to plan and a wedding photographer should always remain calm and in control throughout the day. The best wedding photographers flow with the event, are flexible and adaptable with the images they capture, whilst always maintaining professional standards.

What to Expect When You Hire a Wedding Photographer?

In many cases the day of the wedding is the first time people are in front of a professionalís camera. As well as being anxious about the big day, having a camera pointed at you all day can make you feel even more uncomfortable, especially if you feel that photos donít generally flatter you.

Having invested some time to choose the right wedding photographer, you can be assured that they will do certain things to make the process less stressful.

Do you need a quality, friendly and relaxed professional photographer for your Wedding? Give me call today.

Theyíll Be There on Time and Be Professional

You can be reassured that the photographer will be professional by researching their reputation, their previous work and their passion for what they do. Your wedding photographer should be punctual, personable and on time for your wedding schedule, as well as dressed appropriately. By arriving early your wedding photographer will be able to scout the location and choose some excellent vantage points, although they will probably have visited your key event locations prior to the big day.

The Day Before the Wedding - the Rehearsal

If you plan to have a church ceremony, then itís customary to have a rehearsal a day or a week before. Your photographer may want to find out from the Vicar where they should stand during the vows and which vantage points wedding photographers normally use in the church. This discussion normally happens on the day of the wedding in West-Wittering, with the registrar, in the case of a civil ceremony.

The Big Wedding Day

Your photographer will be there to take pictures of bridal presentations, or at whatever time you have agreed beforehand. He will be there for the rest of the day but will not interrupt the flow in any way. Jeff Woodall photography prides itself on its ability to remain unobtrusive but to always be available for questions and to keep spirits high, ensuring that no beautifully precious moment is lost. Jeff Woodall photography will be poised to capture all of the beautiful moments through the day, without intruding in any way.

At a certain time in the evening, usually after the first dance, your photographer will approach you to see if thereís anything else you would like him to capture. If you decide to call it a day, the photographer will start their backup process. Every photo will be stored on a reliable backup storage device and kept safe until such a time as the photos have been through the full editing process and have been delivered to you to your satisfaction. Your photographs are as important to us as they are to you.

The Wedding Photo Editing Stage

In the days after the wedding in West-Wittering the important editing stage is completed. To tell the story of the wedding day the pictures need to capture the moments and so the first stage is going through all the photos and picking the best ones. The editing of the digital photographs then begins with a light touch approach that ensures a subtle process of enhancement.

Jeff Woodall photography only use beautifully sharp images. During post processing, the images undergo some minor editing. They are colour balanced and cropped. Various effects can be achieved during the post processing of your images, including monochrome conversions.

The images are then exported and uploaded to an online password protected gallery, ready to be viewed by you, your friends and family as you wish. You will also be given all high resolution images on a USB stick. Weíll provide you with all the instructions you need for how to access the online gallery and how to share it with your family and friends and we’ll also send you the USB stick with easy to use instructions on how to share your photos online.

Helping clients down the line

Once you have your photos, you’ll be looking for a way to present them and Jeff Woodall photography will be available to discuss the design of wedding photo books and to talk you through wedding album options. Even if you’ve set your mind to the style and design of your digital photo book album, it can take a bit of time after the wedding day to decide on which photos to include.

You’ll probably be asked to pick your favorite 80 photographs that depict the story of your day and you can ask your photographer any questions to guide you on this. The design of the album is then carried out by your photographer.

The shoot duration in West-Wittering

Generally, a photographer will use time as one of the main methods to price an assignment. With weddings, we understand that exact timings and schedule are very individual and that they need to go with the flow of your day. We need to be flexible and so we tend to take a different approach to pricing our wedding packages.

I used to offer a variety of wedding packages in West-Wittering, just as many photographers still do, such as ëPlatinumí, ëGoldí, ëSilverí and ëBronzeí. It all gets quite complicated, especially if different photo album packages are also added to the mix. When you choose me, you get a fixed price for the day, with no hidden extras. Obviously, I’m not going to give hours of my time for free, but I’m happy to arrive early to get some shots, or stay after the first dance if there’s extra photos that need to be captured. We want pricing to be clear and transparent and don’t want to have to bill you for extra hours after the event, because things ran on and your ëSilverí package didn’t cover it. If there is travel involved to the wedding ceremony there would need to be some negotiation over the expenses involved in terms of accommodation, fuel or flights, food and refreshments.

Wedding photography Services List

Below is a summary list of wedding photography services :

Some of the differences between wedding styles explained

Fine Art Photography

Fine art photographers normally steer clear of too many traditional shots, in the same way that photojournalistic photographers do. Rather, their pictures are captured through an artistic appreciation of events, elements and people, accented with the use of stunning lighting. Fine Art photographers in West-Wittering have a flair for the dramatic and always looking for the artistic side when composing and staging their photos, often using different filters, including black and white.

Vintage Style Photography

Vintage photo filters have become quite popular over the last decade and has resulted in more demand for this style of photography. More and more weddings are seeing photographers using a vintage photography style. This style of photography can evoke feelings of nostalgia and the old and timeless nature of that style really seems to appeal to people. Colour filters together with other post processing methods have the capacity to translate rather plain images into artistic pieces and photographers in West-Wittering who have a keen eye in this area, can work wonders with wedding photographs.

Traditional or Classical

In traditional or classical photography, each moment is captured as if it staged and a portrait, rather than spontaneous and ad hoc as they might seem. With this style of photography, you are likely to get more static images than spontaneous flowing, action shots, although the images you get won’t feel overly staged. Traditional photographers are likely to want to record of the formalities of the wedding ceremony and to portray the dignity and meaning of the ceremony, with subtle lighting.

Photojournalistic or Reportage

This style of photography is less about orchestrating and creating moments to capture on camera, than reporting those special moments of the day. With this type of photography, you’ll get the happy shots of guests together during the day, as well as more spontaneous and candid photos; the obligatory group shots and the formal bride and groom photos will of course also be included. The photo journalistic photographer is all about immortalizing the spontaneous reactions and emotions of the day as they happen, rather than orchestrating and staging their images.

Black and White (Monochrome)

With black-and-white photographs you get a timeless and classical feel to images. Colour images are preferred by some clients, while some appreciate how the mood of their photos can be enhanced by the desaturation of colours. You need to decide what you like. Monochrome images aren’t always liked by everybody, but using this style can really draw attention to particular aspects of the sceneís composition and subject matter. The extra contrast of black and monochrome images can really evoke a certain atmosphere that colour sometimes simply cannot.

Colour Popped and HDR Techniques

This area of photography requires skill in techniques that involve shooting with a lot of attention to detail and the post processing becomes a little more complex too. If you like photographs that are enhanced with that occasional pop of colour, or dramatic high dynamic range, your photographer will have the skill to choose the right scenes sparingly, to professionally execute the shot and to skillfully edit to produce stunning results.
