Main Reasons Wedding Photography Is Important.

Planning your wedding day in Trotton is an involved process and hiring a wedding photographer may not initially be at the top of your priority list.

However, it is important enough that you should bump it up your priority list. You need to set a budget for it and get a professional in Trotton booked well in advance. There are potentially so many precious moments during any wedding and so you need a wedding photographer who has the talent to both see and capture those moments. That takes a great deal of skill and experience. When your children and future grandchildren ask you about your wedding, you’ll be able to tell the story of the day by showing them your wedding images.

You’ll turn to your wedding photos many times in the future, recapturing the precious memories of that special day. Your cake will have been eaten, the flowers gone and your wedding dress and shoes packed away after the wedding in Trotton. but your wedding photographs will forever be yours to share on social media, look at during those quiet moments and enjoy with your loved ones, so take them seriously and make sure that you commission talented professionals!

Why hire a professional photographer for your wedding?

You’ve probably got most of the planning done already if your wedding is fast approaching. You’ve booked your caterer, cake and the venue. You’ve tried on and love your wedding dress and have chosen table decorations and flowers.

You are now thinking about capturing the precious memories of your big day as photographic images. Perhaps you are considering the option of asking a relative to bring their amateur photography skills to your wedding.

That would enable you to divert some of your budget to other areas of the wedding. This is definitely a path you should avoid.

Hiring a professional wedding photographer is the route you should take

The benefits you get when you hire a photographer with significant experience of weddings are much greater than the monetary savings you’ll make when you get the photos taken for free. There are dozens of special moments that happen on your wedding day and in a flash they’re gone and forgotten if not captured in your photos.

The benefits of having a professional wedding photographer

When you choose to hire a professional wedding photographer in Trotton the pictures you receive will be quality, in high resolution, captured with the best photography equipment and edited with skill, using professional editing software.

The professional wedding photographer you hire in Trotton will be able to capture fantastic images with their skill, state-of-the-art cameras and equipment and edited to a superb standard using the latest software.

The equipment that wedding photographers use goes far beyond the camera, which is only a part of what it takes to achieve the quality photography you need at your wedding. The quality of the cameras on smartphones these days makes it very tempting to turn to them for wedding photography. This might be a huge mistake. Every wedding couple wants the highest quality and most skillfully composed photographs possible, to remember their wedding day by. Let’s take a look at some of the main benefits of having a professional in Trotton with professional photography equipment, so that you can understand what you are actually paying for with a professional wedding photographer.

Knowledge with the latest camera equipment and the use of it in varying situations. A photographer is only as good as the lenses they use and the skills they possess and a full appreciation of lighting. Professional wedding photographers tend to have much better equipment and much more experience in using a diverse range of setups. A DSLR camera can be purchased by anyone almost certainly, but the full potential of this camera can only be unlocked by experienced professionals. The person using the equipment and the quality of equipment being used are equally important. Ideally, you want to go for high end gear, as well as an expert photographer who has the knowledge and expertise in using that equipment optimally. This includes various photographic lighting options, which might be necessary depending on the degree of ambient light available due to the weather conditions or the available light at the chosen venues.

The Photographerís Role

Another very good reason to engage the services of a professional wedding photographer in Trotton is that theyíre going to be far less likely to become distracted than a family member or relative charged with capturing the dayís event. The professional photographer wonít be striving to enjoy the day and become part of the celebration, like a family member would want to do.

They wonít miss that crucial loving moment because theyíre eating cake, downing a beer, or chatting with wedding guests. Their focus will be 100% on getting every possible moment captured on camera.

Wedding guests are also far more likely to respond to a professional, paid wedding photographer than they would be to a relative barking orders. If you have a member of your family taking photos of everyone, guests might not take the photo sessions so seriously.

The Photography Style

If you have in mind a particular photographic style, then you should hire a professional that is an expert in that area or style. Not many amateurs are familiar with the differences between photojournalistic, fine art, traditional or contemporary styles.

Are you willing to gamble that theyíre able to produce the pictures that you will treasure? In many cases, they will not have the skills to do so. Take some time to consider the photography styles you want to make sure that the wedding photographer you hire is in sync with you. Make sure that you hire a wedding photographer who can quickly comprehend exactly what it is you want to achieve.

Reliability and Communication

A professional photographer really is a better choice than going for an amateur relative or enthusiast friend in most cases and there are lots of other reasons why. A professional photographer brings a lot of experience of weddings to the table and can help you to stay on track with the schedule and find the right balance between getting things done and blending into the background.

A professional wedding photographer will get people where they need to be for each photo and plan all the photo sessions to ensure no one gets missed out, or no opportunity is missed. They will use body language and verbal messages, without imposing on your guests, to run through the necessary formalities whilst enhancing the celebration of your wedding day in Trotton. Getting the perfect picture often involves striking a balance between being distant, but also being encouraging and supportive, humorous and amateurs rarely have the skills to do it.

If You Want More, Use Professional Wedding Photographers

There arenít many people that you will spend more time on your wedding day than your wedding photographer. The wedding photographer will take preamble shots at the start of the day, shots at the venue, pictures at the reception and perhaps even pictures as you leave the venue at the end of the day.

Your photographer remains constantly around you, having been hired to capture every memory and every moment without being noticed. If theyíre good at their job, youíll hardly notice theyíre there. Your photographer will ensure everything is just as it should be, by noticing the small things like wonky ties, or untucked shirts.

They will be there to inform you of this and help you try to fix it. Your wedding planner will have lots of other things to do and wonít shadow you all day in Trotton, not like your photographer will. The photographer will help the wedding party be where they need to be, when they need to be and to be as calm as they should be.

Patience Is the Key

Itís really important that you hire a wedding photographer that puts you at ease. Youíre going to be spending a lot of time with this person on your wedding day. You want to be happy that you made the right decision.

You need a technically proficient photographer with, empathy, patience, understanding and superb planning skills. Your personality needs to be captured through the lens and itís their job to help you to be at ease throughout the day in Trotton. An experienced professional will recognise that things rarely go exactly according to plan and will remain calm and effective throughout. An experienced wedding photographer will flow with the event and will be quick to adapt, always remaining professional.

What to Expect from Your Wedding Photographer?

The wedding day is often the first time that the couple has ever had a professional photographer taking shots of them. Those that are camera shy, or donít particularly like how they look in photos, can feel anxious and worried about having a camera pointing at them all day.

With time invested in choosing the right wedding photographer in Trotton that will gel with you, you can feel comfortable that certain things will happen along the way.

Good Time Keeping and Professional Standards

Professionalism will shine through during your research into a photographer, while checking out their reputation, their enthusiasm for photography and their portfolio itself. You want your wedding photographer to get on with the guests, to have an excellent attitude towards time keeping and to dress in a suitable manner for your wedding. Your wedding photographer should arrive before they need to, so that they can get a feel for the venues and the best places to get the shots that you desire.

Rehearsals for the Wedding Day

Church wedding ceremonies normally have the custom of a wedding rehearsal a day or two before the wedding. The wedding photographer ask to come to the wedding day rehearsal to scout the location and to find out from the Vicar where they should be standing throughout the service. With civil ceremonies, the photographers will normally have a discussion with the registrar prior to the wedding starting in Trotton.

The Wedding

Your photographer will arrive at the agreed time to capture the bridal presentations. He will be there for the rest of the day but will not interrupt the flow in any way. Jeff Woodall photography will be poised to capture all of the beautiful moments through the day, without intruding in any way. Jeff Woodall photographyís ethos is to be very subtle, at staying in the background without interrupting the day, but being available to keep spirits high and answer any difficult questions, making sure that every single memory is captured in digital format.

At some point in the night, often after the first dance, your wedding photographer will check with you to find out if thereís anything else you would like to be pictured. If you are satisfied that your photographer has captured the day, he will begin the process of backing up all of the photos. Jeff Woodall does a full backup of the wedding images, to separate hard drives, which will be kept in a safe place on his photo editing suite, where theyíll remain until all the wedding photographs have been completely edited and delivered to you. We fully understand that your photographs are precious and need to be looked after.

Wedding Photo Editing

Editing is a large part of the work and will be done in the days following the wedding in Trotton. The first step is to select the best images that tell the story of your wedding. Every selected photograph is edited using a light touch approach with only a few subtle edits.

The images that Jeff Woodall photography produce are always beautifully sharp. Images are cropped and have their colours balanced where necessary, but is limited to minor adjustments. Various effects can be achieved during the post processing of your images, including monochrome conversions.

The images are then exported and uploaded to an online password protected gallery, ready to be viewed by you, your friends and family as you wish. You will also be given all high resolution images on a USB stick. Weíll provide you with all the instructions you need for how to access the online gallery and how to share it with your family and friends and we’ll also send you the USB stick with easy to use instructions on how to share your photos online.

Client support - follow-up

Jeff Woodall photography will always be on hand, accessible to talk about wedding photo album options and the design of wedding photo books if you so require them. Even if you’ve set your mind to the style and design of your digital photo book album, it can take a bit of time after the wedding day to decide on which photos to include.

In most cases the photo book capacity will be around 80 images. The design process will then begin, as your photographer works on the album.

You can choose to have the photographer at any event including the engagement party, the bridal shower, the wedding ceremony and of course the wedding reception and after party. This decision will dictate how many days you have for the photographer and will be made early on in your planning stages. You need to communicate which events you want captured to get them in the diary.

How much time you want for the shoot in Trotton

Generally, a photographer will use time as one of the main methods to price an assignment. I often use this for portrait and events but in terms of weddings, I have simplified the process to a large extent, due to the flexible nature of the day and the fact that each wedding is quite different and difficult to predict in terms of exact timings.

You are probably familiar with photographers offering ëPlatinumí, ëGoldí, ëSilverí and ëBronzeí wedding packages in Trotton. This way of doing things can get over complicated and even more so when additional options and extras are added to the mix. I now prefer to work on a fixed price for the full day’s coverage. I won’t question doing an extra hour here or there. We want pricing to be clear and transparent and don’t want to have to bill you for extra hours after the event, because things ran on and your ëSilverí package didn’t cover it. In cases where weddings are overseas, or in remote locations, there would need to be some negotiation regarding fuel or flights, food and accommodation.

Wedding photography Services List

Below is a summary list of wedding photography services :

What are the differences between all these different styles?

Fine Art Photography

Similar to photojournalistic photography, fine art photographers rarely take traditional shots. They prefer to take an artistic view and capture elements, events and people with that mindset, always looking for dramatic lighting and backgrounds. The Fine Art photographer in Trotton prefers to pack their photos with art and drama, often using black and white as a filter.

Vintage Style Photography

The diversity and popularity of vintage photo filters has helped to drive this style of photography. The number of wedding couples that choose to have vintage wedding photography has grown fast. Something about old, timeless photographs appeals to people, maybe itís the feeling of nostalgia which this style of photography evokes. Vintage photography done well in Trotton, transforms ordinary images into artistic work of art using colour filters and various props and lighting tricks.

Traditional or Classical

With traditional or classical photography, nearly every picture is considered to be a posed portrait, even those moments that may appear to be more spontaneous. You’re less likely to get action shots with this type of photography, although every moment will be captured in a natural way that doesn’t feel forced or posed. Traditional photographers will want to capture precious moments and formalities with artistic style and integrity and will look for shots that will work using that style during the wedding ceremony.

Photojournalistic or Reportage

Similar to a documentary style, photojournalism photography is about recording the event, rather than orchestrating them. With this type of shot you will get all of the expected group and formal shots, as well as lots more spontaneous images as well as the normal ësmile for the cameraí roundups of guests throughout the day. The photojournalistic wedding photographer tells the story of the day, using a mix of close-up and candid shots, showing spontaneous reaction and recording the atmosphere of the event , rather than orchestrating the scenes.

Black and White (Monochrome)

This can be an effective way to present classic, timeless images. Many clients appreciate how the nostalgia and mood of images can be enhanced by removing colour. It really comes down to what you prefer. Some people really don’t like monochrome images, but black and white photographs can tend to enhance the feeling of atmosphere when done well, helping to focus attention on the subjects of the images. Sometimes colour can fail to portray the atmosphere of a photo, where monochrome techniques can really bring it to life.

Colour Popped and HDR Techniques

This aspect of photography employs techniques that require attention to detail in both the shooting, as well as the final processing. This technique of photography [ HDR / colour popped] involves picking the right scenes and the right processing software to create highly appealing photographs with colours that pop and stunning detail that is striking for the viewer.
