It’s not always easy to capture those precious moments, so you need a wedding photographer with talent, experience and the right equipment to do your special event justice. Your wedding album will tell a story that you can share with your family and your friends and even your future grandchildren.

The wedding photographs will have the power to take you back to your special day and bring back those amazing feelings again and again down the years. When your wedding day in Topleigh has come and gone, your wedding dress and shoes will be packed away, the flowers will be gone and your wedding cake will be no more. but your wedding photographs will forever be yours to share on social media, look at during those quiet moments and enjoy with your loved ones, so take them seriously and make sure that you commission talented professionals!

Why engage a wedding photographer for your big day?

The planning for your wedding day is probably almost done if your wedding is coming up soon. You’ve booked your caterer, cake and the venue. Your wedding dress is perfect, your wedding theme is arranged and the flowers chosen.

The wedding photographs are next on the list. Perhaps you’re considering asking your nephew to do it since he’s an amateur photographer.

The money you save on the photographs could be used to cover other wedding expenses. This is certainly not the way to go.

You should hire a professional wedding photographer

It’s a much better idea to have a professional photographer get it right, than save some money and have an amateur photographer miss those important big and little details! Remember, some special moments happen only once in a lifetime, yet the photos will stay with you forever.

Some of the key benefits of professional wedding photography

Having hired a professional wedding photographer in Topleigh, you are assured of the highest quality images, created and edited using the best expertise, cameras and photo editing software.

When you hire professional photographers for your wedding in Topleigh, you get privileged access to the best photography knowledge and skills, together with the best equipment and software to produce the best quality pictures possible.

The equipment such as cameras, are just a part of what it takes to capture great wedding photographs. The dramatic improvement in camera phones means that it is very tempting to try and save money on your wedding photos. This is a big mistake. Every wedding couple wants the highest quality and most skillfully composed photographs possible, to remember their wedding day by. Let’s take a look at some of the main benefits of having a professional in Topleigh with professional photography equipment, so that you can understand what you are actually paying for with a professional wedding photographer.

Camera equipment expertise, as well as being able to deal with indoor and outdoor lighting. A photographer is only as good as the lenses they use and the skills they possess and a full appreciation of lighting. Professional wedding photographers normally bring to the table a lot more skill, knowledge and equipment that they can use. Anyone can buy a DSLR camera, but it takes great skill to unlock the potential of the equipment. Both the camera equipment and the photographer are equally important in creating and capturing great photos. In order to get your dream photos, you need high end camera equipment and a wedding photographer with the experience, talent and knowledge to use it appropriately to its full potential. This includes being able to take great pictures in different photographic lighting conditions, indoors and outdoors, with different natural and artificial light at the venue.

The Role the Photographer Plays

A professional wedding photographer in Topleigh is far less likely to be distracted by situations of the day than a family member or relative. A relative will likely expect to enjoy the day and become part of it, whereas a professional photographer will know that their role is very clearly defined.

A photographer wonít be off-duty, drinking alcohol or eating cake when they should be capturing an important shot. They will be fully concentrating on the job, taking every opportunity to capture the special moments of your wedding day, whilst keeping it very low key.

Wedding shoots also tend to go much better when guests are engaging with paid, professional photographers. When family members are taking control of a family photo session it tends to be taken less seriously.

The Style of the Photography

If you have in mind a particular photographic style, then you should hire a professional that is an expert in that area or style. If you asked the majority of amateur photographers what the difference is between fine art, contemporary, traditional or photojournalistic photography styles, most wouldnít have a clue.

Are you willing to gamble that theyíre able to produce the pictures that you will treasure? Often, they wonít be able to. Take some time to consider what you want and then ensure that the photographer you use is able to capture the style that you want. Make sure that you hire a wedding photographer who can quickly comprehend exactly what it is you want to achieve.

Communication and Reliability

A professional photographer is normally a much better choice than an amateur photographer or enthusiast and weíve already touched on a few other reasons so far. You shouldnít underestimate the wealth of experience the professional brings in dealing with the various challenges of the big day.

A professional wedding photographer will be able to communicate effectively and persuasively with guests to ensure they are where they need to be. They will be able to use signals and body language, as well as their voice, to get people where they need to be in a pleasant way, enhancing the atmosphere of your celebration in Topleigh. Amateur photographers, no matter how hard they try, will find it hard to identify the right approach to photo sessions, being distant to a degree, professional, humorous, encouraging and supporting guests through the process, in order to capture those memorable shots.

Professional Wedding Photographers Are a Better Choice

There arenít many people that you will spend more time on your wedding day than your wedding photographer. The wedding photographer will take the initial shots during the day as you get ready and even travel to the church and will stay with you throughout the day and maybe until you leave for home or honeymoon.

Your photographer remains constantly around you, having been hired to capture every memory and every moment without being noticed. If a photographer knows what theyíre doing, they wonít be noticed throughout the day. The photographer is the one who notices every detail out of place such as lipstick stains on the teeth, or wonky button holes etc.

They will be there to inform you of this and help you try to fix it. Your wedding planner will not be your shadow all day in Topleigh, but your photographer will. The photographer will help the wedding party be where they need to be, when they need to be and to be as calm as they should be.

Patience

As a wedding couple, you should engage the services of a wedding photographer that helps you feel comfortable. Consider the amount of time you will spend with the person on one of the most important days of your life. That decision needs to feel right.

The photographer should have a great mix of patience, empathy and skills of persuasion, as well as technically superb. They need to flow through the day in Topleigh with you, capturing the best of your personality through the lens. A good photographer will remain balanced and relaxed even throughout the many challenges during the day. An experienced wedding photographer will flow with the event and will be quick to adapt, always remaining professional.

Hiring a Wedding Photographer and What to Expect?

In many cases the day of the wedding is the first time people are in front of a professionalís camera. Those that are camera shy, or donít particularly like how they look in photos, can feel anxious and worried about having a camera pointing at them all day.

Having spent some time considering the best professional wedding photographer in Topleigh to match the styles you want, you can now rest assured that they will do certain things to make the process run smoothly.

Do you need a quality, friendly and relaxed professional photographer for your Wedding? Give me call today.

Professional Conduct and Prompt Time Keeping

If you hire people for the right reasons, such as their passion, reputation and having looked at their work, professionalism will be a given. You want your wedding photographer to get on with the guests, to have an excellent attitude towards time keeping and to dress in a suitable manner for your wedding. Your photographer should get to your wedding venues earlier than the guests so that they can get a feel for the environment; they will probably have been to some of the venues already in order to understand the limitations and possibilities.

Rehearsing for the Wedding Day (The day before)

Church wedding ceremonies normally have the custom of a wedding rehearsal a day or two before the wedding. The wedding photographer ask to come to the wedding day rehearsal to scout the location and to find out from the Vicar where they should be standing throughout the service. With civil ceremonies, the photographers will normally have a discussion with the registrar prior to the wedding starting in Topleigh.

Wedding Day (The big day)

Your wedding photographer will normally arrive to capture the bridal presentations, at a pre agreed time. You will have his undivided attention for the whole day, but without interrupting in any way. Jeff Woodall photographyís ethos is to be very subtle, at staying in the background without interrupting the day, but being available to keep spirits high and answer any difficult questions, making sure that every single memory is captured in digital format. Jeff Woodall photography prides itself on its ability to remain unobtrusive but to always be available for questions and to keep spirits high, ensuring that no beautifully precious moment is lost.

Your wedding photographer will have a discussion with you sometime after the first dance to find out if you need any more precious moments captured. The backup process will begin once your photographer has completed their work. Every photo will be stored on a reliable backup storage device and kept safe until such a time as the photos have been through the full editing process and have been delivered to you to your satisfaction. We understand just how precious your photographs are to you.

The Editing of Wedding Photographs

Editing is a crucial stage in the wedding photography process and will be completed within the days that follow the event in Topleigh. At the first stage, all images are checked to select the ones that best tell the story of the day. The selected photographs go through a light touch approach that enhances them subtly.

Jeff Woodall photography only use beautifully sharp images. The pictures that require a little work are edited for colour balance and size. Some images will be converted to black and white and may have other styles applied as appropriate.

Once through the editing process, the images are exported to both USB and an online password protected gallery, for viewing by everyone that you want to give access. We know that you’ll want to be sharing your beautiful wedding photos online and giving access to your family and friends. So, weíll provide instructions of how to share your online gallery access with everyone you want to and weíll provide you with a USB stick with high-definition pictures as well.

Here to help after event

Jeff Woodall photography will be available for everything else you need; to talk about albums, or the types of bespoke wedding photo books that can be designed for you. Even if you’ve set your mind to the style and design of your digital photo book album, it can take a bit of time after the wedding day to decide on which photos to include.

Typically the photographer will ask you to choose 80 or so images. Your photographer will then begin to design the album for you.

How many hours of shooting in Topleigh

Generally, a photographer will use time as one of the main methods to price an assignment. At Jeff Woodall photography this is normally the way we price up events and portraits, but with weddings the process has been simplified because we understand that each day is completely different, timings are personal and we need to be flexible to capture the flow of your wedding events.

Many photographers (and I used to) offer a range of packages in Topleigh, such as ëPlatinumí, ëGoldí, ëSilveríand ëBronzeí. When you start adding extra options, wedding album packages, design and other things it can get quite complicated. With me you get a full day’s coverage for a set price. I don’t quibble over the extra hour we were there, due to late starts etc. We want pricing to be clear and transparent and don’t want to have to bill you for extra hours after the event, because things ran on and your ëSilverí package didn’t cover it. For wedding ceremonies that involves travelling, the travel expenses for flights, fuel, food, refreshments and accommodation would need to be subject to negotiation with the client.

Wedding photography Services List

Below is a summary list of wedding photography services :

Different Styles and How They’re Different

Fine Art Photography

Photojournalistic specialists and fine art photographers donít normally tend to shoot many purely traditional images. Rather, their pictures are captured through an artistic appreciation of events, elements and people, accented with the use of stunning lighting. Typically, a fine art photographer in Topleigh is highly skilled at creating and staging photos that are artistic and beautifully full of drama, applying filters to photos during editing, including often using monochrome conversions.

Vintage Style Photography

Vintage photo filters have become quite popular over the last decade and has resulted in more demand for this style of photography. More and more couples are choosing vintage wedding photography as their wedding style for their photographs. This style of photography can evoke feelings of nostalgia and the old and timeless nature of that style really seems to appeal to people. The use of colour filters and lighting can help to transform images into works of art during the process of capturing images of a vintage theme in Topleigh.

Traditional or Classical

With traditional or classical photography, details of shots are considered staged, even those that you may think look spontaneous. Although the photographs won’t feel overly posed or artificial, you probably won’t get many action shots in the wedding album. The aim of traditional photography is to capture moments with dignity and artistry, using many posed shots, including many formal images, under a range of lighting options.

Photojournalistic or Reportage

Photojournalism photography focuses on the actual moments that happen, rather than staging them. As always, the necessary formal shots will be taken, as well as a number of spontaneous happy shots group shots during the day. The photo journalistic photographer is all about immortalizing the spontaneous reactions and emotions of the day as they happen, rather than orchestrating and staging their images.

Black and White (Monochrome)

With black-and-white photographs you get a timeless and classical feel to images. Although many people prefer colour images, others appreciate how removing that colour and by the skillfully use of post processing techniques, really create pictures that are packed with atmosphere. It really comes down to what you prefer. Some people really don’t like monochrome images, but black and white photographs can tend to enhance the feeling of atmosphere when done well, helping to focus attention on the subjects of the images. Sometimes colour can fail to portray the atmosphere of a photo, where monochrome techniques can really bring it to life.

Colour Popped and HDR Techniques

This aspect of photography employs techniques that require attention to detail in both the shooting, as well as the final processing. The users of HDR and colour popped photography techniques, carefully choose the scenes they shoot in order to create images that are striking, with vibrant colours which draw the viewersí attention to a particular area of the image.
