You need to get a photographer in The-Close booked well in advance and have a clear budget for your wedding images. It’s not always easy to capture those precious moments, so you need a wedding photographer with talent, experience and the right equipment to do your special event justice. When your children and future grandchildren ask you about your wedding, you’ll be able to tell the story of the day by showing them your wedding images.
The wedding photographs will have the power to take you back to your special day and bring back those amazing feelings again and again down the years. After your wedding day in The-Close, you’re unlikely to be wearing your dress and shoes again, the flowers will be cleared away and all the cake will be eaten. but your wedding photographs will forever be yours to share on social media, look at during those quiet moments and enjoy with your loved ones, so take them seriously and make sure that you commission talented professionals!
Why you should hire a pro-wedding photographer
If you’re getting married soon, you’ve probably done the majority of the necessary planning. You’ve arranged the venue, chosen your cake and booked a caterer. You’ve tried on and love your wedding dress and have chosen table decorations and flowers.
The wedding photographs are next on the list. Your uncle is a good amateur photographer and perhaps you’re considering asking him.
That would enable you to divert some of your budget to other areas of the wedding. You should definitely not go down this path.
You should hire a professional wedding photographer
The benefits of hiring a professional photographer far outweigh the ultimate cost of having an amateur photographer taking your photos for free! Remember, some special moments happen only once in a lifetime, yet the photos will stay with you forever.
Key benefits of hiring wedding photography professionals
The photography equipment and software that a professional wedding photographer you hire in The-Close will use will ensure that you get the best quality images possible.
As well as a wealth of knowledge and experience, wedding photographers in The-Close have access to premium photography equipment and software to enable them to capture the best wedding pictures possible.
The quality of the photographs is determined by far more than just the camera that is taking them. The advent of camera phones has for some become a tempting way to try and save money on wedding photography. This might be a huge mistake. Everyone wants beautifully composed and captured photographs of their wedding day. Let me explain a bit more about how a wedding photographer in The-Close can add value to your photos and why it’s worth paying for them.
Knowledge with the latest camera equipment and the use of it in varying situations. The photographerís performance will be impaired by not having a variety of lenses, lighting options and also by not being skilled in their use. Professional wedding photographers have more photographic equipment in their armoury and also have more experience using different setups to capture stunning images. Experienced professionals can get the most out of a DSLR camera due to their experience and skill, although anyone can take a picture with one. The skill of the person taking the photos is highly important, but they also need the right equipment to produce top results. The ideal scenario is that you have the best equipment available and a highly skilled professional photographer to be able to get the most out of it. The skill of the photographer includes being able to take great photos in diverse lighting scenarios, depending on the weather, or the lighting at the wedding event venues.

The Role of the Photographer
Another very good reason to engage the services of a professional wedding photographer in The-Close is that theyíre going to be far less likely to become distracted than a family member or relative charged with capturing the dayís event. When you pay a professional photographer, theyíre there to do a job, whereas a family member is more likely to be looking to enjoy the celebrations.
A professional photographer wonít be tempted to chat with guests, grab a quick beer, or be first in line for cake when they should be taking an important shot. Every moment theyíre there, their focus will be on unobtrusively capturing the best possible images that they can of the event.
Another thing to bear in mind is that wedding guests tend to respond to photoshoots better when they are being arranged by professional wedding photographers. Photoshoots taken by a relative tend to be less organised and taken less seriously than those arranged by professionals.
Skill with Different Styles of Photography
If you want a specific style of photography, you should hire a professional photographer whose style matches yours. If you want to ask an amateur photographer, the chances are that theyíre not familiar with the differences between traditional, contemporary, fine art, or photojournalistic styles.
Can an amateur really deliver the pictures that are going to inspire you forever? Often, they wonít be able to. Take some time to consider what you want and then ensure that the photographer you use is able to capture the style that you want. Choose a professional who can immediately understand your style ideas when you explain them.
Communication Skills and Timeliness
There are numerous other factors that contribute to a professional photographer being a better choice than an amateur photographer or enthusiast. A professional photographer brings a lot of experience of weddings to the table and can help you to stay on track with the schedule and find the right balance between getting things done and blending into the background.
A professional wedding photographer will be able to communicate effectively and persuasively with guests to ensure they are where they need to be. They will be able to use signals and body language, as well as their voice, to get people where they need to be in a pleasant way, enhancing the atmosphere of your celebration in The-Close. Amateur photographers, no matter how hard they try, will find it hard to identify the right approach to photo sessions, being distant to a degree, professional, humorous, encouraging and supporting guests through the process, in order to capture those memorable shots.
If You Want More, Use Professional Wedding Photographers
Of all the people around you on your wedding day, your wedding photographer will probably be with you most. They will be with you from the preamble shots all the way to the departure.
Your wedding photographer is always near you, having been engaged to capture the emotion and style of your day in its entirety. If theyíre good at their job, youíll hardly notice theyíre there. Your photographer will ensure everything is just as it should be, by noticing the small things like wonky ties, or untucked shirts.
Your photographer will help you try and fix anything that could spoil a quality photo. The planner of your wedding will be with you for far less of the day in The-Close than your photographer will. The experience of the photographer will help to ensure that the wedding party know where they are going and when and help to alleviate any anxiety or emotions as they arise.
The Epitome of Patience
Every wedding couple needs to hire a photographer that they feel comfortable around. Consider the amount of time you will spend with the person on one of the most important days of your life. The person you have decided on needs to be the right one.
The professional photographer you choose should have an excellent skill set; great technically, the patience of a saint, the persuasive skills of a sales person and the empathetic and emotional skills of a counsellor. They need to flow with you and help the lens to capture your personality at its best throughout your special day in The-Close. An experienced professional will recognise that things rarely go exactly according to plan and will remain calm and effective throughout. A good wedding photographer will remain professional at all times and will be flexible, flowing and adapting to changing circumstances.
What to Expect from Your Wedding Photographer?
The wedding day is often the first time that the couple has ever had a professional photographer taking shots of them. This can be a source of anxiety and worry, especially for those that donít like the way they look in photographs.
With time invested in choosing the right wedding photographer in The-Close that will gel with you, you can feel comfortable that certain things will happen along the way.
Promptness and Professionalism
You can be reassured that the photographer will be professional by researching their reputation, their previous work and their passion for what they do. You want your wedding photographer to get on with the guests, to have an excellent attitude towards time keeping and to dress in a suitable manner for your wedding. Your photographer should get to your wedding venues earlier than the guests so that they can get a feel for the environment; they will probably have been to some of the venues already in order to understand the limitations and possibilities.
Wedding Day Rehearsal (The day before)
It is customary for church wedding ceremonies to have a rehearsal a few days before the big day. The wedding photographer ask to come to the wedding day rehearsal to scout the location and to find out from the Vicar where they should be standing throughout the service. This discussion normally happens on the day of the wedding in The-Close, with the registrar, in the case of a civil ceremony.
The Day Arrives – the Wedding
Your wedding photographer will normally arrive to capture the bridal presentations, at a pre agreed time. He wonít interrupt at any point during the day but will be with you throughout. Jeff Woodall photography will be poised to capture all of the beautiful moments through the day, without intruding in any way. Itís crucial to the team at Jeff Woodall photography that every precious memory is captured on camera and that we remain unobtrusive, so the day can play out naturally; we are of course available for any questions and we strive to raise the spirits of everyone in the party.

The photographer will start to backup the photos if you are happy that they have captured all the moments you need. Jeff Woodall photography backs up all wedding pictures captured on the day to separate hard drives and then keeps them safe in a permanent backup until the end of the editing stage and provided to you. We understand just how precious your photographs are to you.
Wedding Photo Editing
The editing of wedding photographs takes place in the days after the wedding in The-Close and is a crucial part of the wedding photography process. The first step is to select the best images that tell the story of your wedding. The editing of the digital photographs then begins with a light touch approach that ensures a subtle process of enhancement.
Jeff Woodall photography only use beautifully sharp images. The pictures that require a little work are edited for colour balance and size. Style filters may be applied to some of your wedding images to create a specific look and some will be converted to black and white.
The photos are then ready to be exported from the photo editing suite into an online password protected gallery, as well as uploaded to a USB stick and delivered to you, ready for sharing on social media and for printing. We know that you’ll want to be sharing your beautiful wedding photos online and giving access to your family and friends. So, weíll provide instructions of how to share your online gallery access with everyone you want to and weíll provide you with a USB stick with high-definition pictures as well.
Client support - follow-up
Once you have your photos, you’ll be looking for a way to present them and Jeff Woodall photography will be available to discuss the design of wedding photo books and to talk you through wedding album options. Early on you’ll probably decide if you want a digital photo book album and the different colours and styles that you will require, but it’ll probably take you a while after your wedding ceremony to decide which of the images you are going to want to include.
You’ll probably be asked to pick your favorite 80 photographs that depict the story of your day and you can ask your photographer any questions to guide you on this. The design process will then begin, as your photographer works on the album.
What does your wedding photography package include in The-Close
What do you get when you choose a wedding photography package
Here is a summary of what you will typically find in a wedding photography package. Some of the details are given, others you may need to pay careful attention to. Which events you want the photographer at.
You need to decide whether you want the photographer at your engagement party and bridal shower, whether the photographer stays for the after-party and of course what time he arrives at the wedding ceremony. Some of the events the photographer will almost certainly be at, include the wedding ceremony and the after party, but you need to decide whether he attends the bridal shower, the engagement party and how long he stays on during the after party. You need to communicate the dates and times of events with the photographer.
The shoot duration in The-Close
Typically, a photographer will work out pricing based on the number of hours they need to put into any assignment. At Jeff Woodall photography this is normally the way we price up events and portraits, but with weddings the process has been simplified because we understand that each day is completely different, timings are personal and we need to be flexible to capture the flow of your wedding events.
You are probably familiar with photographers offering ëPlatinumí, ëGoldí, ëSilverí and ëBronzeí wedding packages in The-Close. When you start adding extra options, wedding album packages, design and other things it can get quite complicated. With me you get a full day’s coverage for a set price. Iím yours for the day and won’t mind doing the odd extra hour and won’t be clock-watching. We donít want to bill you an extra hour or two after the wedding because it didn’t go exactly to schedule and the package you pay for didn’t have enough hours. For wedding ceremonies that are a long way away and need significant travel or even flights, there would be some negotiation required over accommodation, fuel, flights, food and refreshments.
How Wedding Styles Really Differ
Fine Art Photography
Photojournalistic photographers will tend not to take so many traditional shots and nor do fine art photographers. They prefer to take an artistic view and capture elements, events and people with that mindset, always looking for dramatic lighting and backgrounds. Fine Art photographers in The-Close have a flair for the dramatic and always looking for the artistic side when composing and staging their photos, often using different filters, including black and white.
Vintage Style Photography
Vintage image filters have become very popular and so this style of photography has quickly evolved. The market for couples who want vintage style weddings and photography has become quite large. With vintage images there is certainly a timeless quality that can stir nostalgic emotion, which may be the cause of such an increase in the appeal of this artistic style. Vintage photography done well in The-Close, transforms ordinary images into artistic work of art using colour filters and various props and lighting tricks.
Traditional or Classical
Even apparently spontaneous shots are often treated as staged portrait pictures with traditional or classical photography. With this style of photography, you are likely to get more static images than spontaneous flowing, action shots, although the images you get won’t feel overly staged. The wedding ceremony will be captured with the aim of taking pictures that are artistic and functional, but perhaps driven less by drama or emotion.
Photojournalistic or Reportage
This style of photography is less about orchestrating and creating moments to capture on camera, than reporting those special moments of the day. With this type of photography, you’ll get the happy shots of guests together during the day, as well as more spontaneous and candid photos; the obligatory group shots and the formal bride and groom photos will of course also be included. Photographers with a photojournalistic style will shy away from orchestrating too many moments during the day, except those formal group shots, or bride and groom images they need to take. They prefer to record close-ups of the bride, groom and wedding guests and really document the dayís actual emotions and feelings.
Black and White (Monochrome)
The black and white style is excellent for creating nostalgic and timeless photographs. Many clients appreciate how the nostalgia and mood of images can be enhanced by removing colour. It’s all about preference. Monochrome images aren’t always liked by everybody, but using this style can really draw attention to particular aspects of the sceneís composition and subject matter. The extra contrast of black and monochrome images can really evoke a certain atmosphere that colour sometimes simply cannot.
Colour Popped and HDR Techniques
This aspect of photography employs techniques that require attention to detail in both the shooting, as well as the final processing. Photographers who use HDR and colour popping techniques have the awareness, the creative eye and the technical photographic and editing capabilities to produce stunning images.
