Why engage a wedding photographer for your big day?

If your wedding is coming up soon then you have probably planned most of the necessities. You’ve booked your caterer, cake and the venue. You’ve tried on and love your wedding dress and have chosen table decorations and flowers.

You are now thinking about capturing the precious memories of your big day as photographic images. Perhaps you’re considering asking your nephew to do it since he’s an amateur photographer.

That would enable you to divert some of your budget to other areas of the wedding. You should definitely not go down this path.

A professional wedding photographer is likely to achieve a much higher quality result

The benefits of hiring a professional photographer are far greater than the cost savings you get when you hire an amateur photographer! There are dozens of special moments that happen on your wedding day and in a flash they’re gone and forgotten if not captured in your photos.

The benefits of having an expert wedding photographer

Hiring a professional wedding photographer in Northchapel means you will be left with pictures of the best quality, created using the best skills and equipment available.

As well as a wealth of knowledge and experience, wedding photographers in Northchapel have access to premium photography equipment and software to enable them to capture the best wedding pictures possible.

The equipment such as cameras, are just a part of what it takes to capture great wedding photographs. Camera phones are pretty amazing these days and many people are tempted to try and save money by using them for their wedding photos. They often make a big mistake doing so. We know everyone wants the best possible photos they can get for their wedding. We’ll take a more in depth look now at what you get when you hire a professional wedding photographer in Northchapel, which adds that extra value and makes it worth your while.

Camera equipment expertise, as well as being able to deal with indoor and outdoor lighting. A photographer won’t be able to do the best job possible if they don’t have the lighting options or lenses they need, or the skill to use them. Professional wedding photographers tend to have much better equipment and much more experience in using a diverse range of setups. DSLR cameras are accessible to most amateurs, but their full potential is only really realised in the hands of experienced pros. Both the camera equipment and the photographer are equally important in creating and capturing great photos. The ideal situation is that you have an expert photographer who can use top of the range equipment to its full potential. The skill of the photographer includes being able to take great photos in diverse lighting scenarios, depending on the weather, or the lighting at the wedding event venues.

The Roles of Expert Photographers

When you hire a professional wedding photographer in Northchapel, you can expect their full attention, whereas with a friend or family member theyíre far more likely to become distracted. A professional photographer wonít be looking to get involved with the celebrations like a family member would.

A professional photographer wonít be tempted to chat with guests, grab a quick beer, or be first in line for cake when they should be taking an important shot. Their focus will be 100% on getting every possible moment captured on camera.

Another thing to consider is that guests are more likely to respect photoshoots when theyíre aware that the photographers are paid professionals. Photoshoots taken by a relative tend to be less organised and taken less seriously than those arranged by professionals.

The Photographic Style

If you want a specific style of photography, you should hire a professional photographer whose style matches yours. The majority of amateur photographers would stare blankly if asked to tell you the difference between photojournalistic, traditional, fine art, or contemporary photographic styles.

Are you certain that theyíre going to be able to provide you with the photos that you dream of? Often, they wonít be able to. Take some time to consider what you want and then ensure that the photographer you use is able to capture the style that you want. Once you have a style in mind, hire a photographer that can picture what it is you want.

Reliability and Communication

A professional photographer really is a better choice than going for an amateur relative or enthusiast friend in most cases and there are lots of other reasons why. Itís easy to understate how a professional photographer can contribute to the day; blending into the background when necessary and getting involved to smooth the schedule and push things along when time is getting tight.

A professional wedding photographer will have the communication skills to organise groups, move people and find out exactly what you want throughout the day. They will be able to use signals and body language, as well as their voice, to get people where they need to be in a pleasant way, enhancing the atmosphere of your celebration in Northchapel. Amateur photographers, no matter how hard they try, will find it hard to identify the right approach to photo sessions, being distant to a degree, professional, humorous, encouraging and supporting guests through the process, in order to capture those memorable shots.

If You Want More, Use Professional Wedding Photographers

There arenít many people that you will spend more time on your wedding day than your wedding photographer. They will photograph you getting ready and spending time before the event and perhaps be around all the way until you leave the venue.

Your wedding photographer is always near you, having been engaged to capture the emotion and style of your day in its entirety. If they know what theyíre doing, you wonít even notice them. Your photographer will ensure everything is just as it should be, by noticing the small things like wonky ties, or untucked shirts.

Their detailed focus will help you fix any little issues and get better photos. The planner of your wedding will be with you for far less of the day in Northchapel than your photographer will. The photographer will help the wedding party and guests be where they need to be and help to calm any emotions.

Patience

As a wedding couple, you should engage the services of a wedding photographer that helps you feel comfortable. Youíre going to be spending a lot of time with this person on your wedding day. The person you have decided on needs to be the right one.

The professional photographer you choose should have an excellent skill set; great technically, the patience of a saint, the persuasive skills of a sales person and the empathetic and emotional skills of a counsellor. They need to go with the flow and be able to make your personality shine brightly on your special day in Northchapel. Rarely does a wedding go exactly to plan and a wedding photographer should always remain calm and in control throughout the day. An expert wedding photographer will adapt to the needs of the day and remain professional at all times.

What to Expect When You Hire a Wedding Photographer?

Often people have never been in front of a professional camera before their wedding day. As well as being anxious about the big day, having a camera pointed at you all day can make you feel even more uncomfortable, especially if you feel that photos donít generally flatter you.

If you have spent a bit of time selecting the right wedding photographer for you, the photographer in Northchapel will do a few things in order to make the process better.

Do you need a quality, friendly and relaxed professional photographer for your Wedding? Give me call today.

Professional Conduct and Prompt Time Keeping

Professionalism will shine through during your research into a photographer, while checking out their reputation, their enthusiasm for photography and their portfolio itself. Your wedding photographer should be punctual, personable and on time for your wedding schedule, as well as dressed appropriately. Your wedding photographer should get there ahead of schedule to take a look around and find their vantage points for the day.

The Day Before the Wedding - the Rehearsal

In many cases, church wedding ceremonies have a rehearsal during the week before the wedding. Your photographer may want to attend this to check the location and to have a brief discussion with the Vicar about where to stand during the service. If you choose to have a civil ceremony, then it will most likely be a chat with a registrar on the day of the wedding in Northchapel.

The Big Wedding Day

Your wedding photographer will tend to arrive to take photos of the bridal presentations, the timings will have been agreed. He will be there for the rest of the day but will not interrupt the flow in any way. The goal at Jeff Woodall photography is to ensure that every precious moment is captured, but to remain unobtrusive and in the background until such a time as you have questions to answer, or you need some help. Jeff Woodall photographyís ethos is to be very subtle, at staying in the background without interrupting the day, but being available to keep spirits high and answer any difficult questions, making sure that every single memory is captured in digital format.

Sometime after the first dance, your wedding photographer will have a conversation with you to find out whether there are any more pictures that you would like taken. The backing up process will begin if you are happy for your photographer to call it a day. Jeff Woodall photography will keep all photos backed up on a storage device until they have been through the editing suite process and are delivered to your satisfaction. Your photographs are as important to us as they are to you.

Getting Your Wedding Photos Edited

Editing is a large part of the work and will be done in the days following the wedding in Northchapel. At the first stage, all images are checked to select the ones that best tell the story of the day. The editing of the digital photographs then begins with a light touch approach that ensures a subtle process of enhancement.

Jeff Woodall photography only use beautifully sharp images. Some editing work is carried out as required, mainly consisting of colour balancing and cropping where necessary. Some of the pictures may be converted to monochrome and other style filters may be applied to further enhance the overall effects of your images.

The images are then exported and uploaded to an online password protected gallery, ready to be viewed by you, your friends and family as you wish. You will also be given all high resolution images on a USB stick. Weíll provide you with all the instructions you need for how to access the online gallery and how to share it with your family and friends and we’ll also send you the USB stick with easy to use instructions on how to share your photos online.

Client support - follow-up

Once you have your photos, you’ll be looking for a way to present them and Jeff Woodall photography will be available to discuss the design of wedding photo books and to talk you through wedding album options. Early on you’ll probably decide if you want a digital photo book album and the different colours and styles that you will require, but it’ll probably take you a while after your wedding ceremony to decide which of the images you are going to want to include.

You’ll probably be asked to pick your favorite 80 photographs that depict the story of your day and you can ask your photographer any questions to guide you on this. Your photographer then begins the design work to create your stunning album.

Here is a list of things included in a wedding photography package

Read on below to see a list of what is included in a wedding photography package. Some of the items are self-explanatory and take care of themselves, whereas others are very important. Which events you want the photographer at.

You’ll probably want the photographer for the wedding ceremony and some or all of the after-party but itís worth thinking about whether you want photos from the bridal shower and the engagement party too. Some of the events the photographer will almost certainly be at, include the wedding ceremony and the after party, but you need to decide whether he attends the bridal shower, the engagement party and how long he stays on during the after party. Once you have decided on dates, you need to get them in the photographer’s diary.

The shoot duration in Northchapel

Generally, a photographer will use time as one of the main methods to price an assignment. Each wedding is individual, with exact timings that differ and ad hoc things that happened during the day and so we work a little differently on wedding packages in order to remain flexible.

Many photographers (and I used to) offer a range of packages in Northchapel, such as ëPlatinumí, ëGoldí, ëSilveríand ëBronzeí. When you start adding extras to these packages it all becomes a bit of a logistical nightmare to understand or work out the overall price. I find it works better to have a set price for a full day’s coverage. I understand that there may be an extra hour here or there due to delays etc. We understand that things can run a little off schedule and don’t want you to be billed for an extra hour here or there if a ëSilverí or ëGoldí package, didn’t cover the hours to fully record your event. If there is travel involved to the wedding ceremony there would need to be some negotiation over the expenses involved in terms of accommodation, fuel or flights, food and refreshments.

Wedding photography Services List

Below is a summary list of wedding photography services :

Different Styles and How They’re Different

Fine Art Photography

Similar to photojournalistic photography, fine art photographers rarely take traditional shots. Rather, they photograph with an appreciation for the artistic side of people, the lighting options and the overall drama of the scene. Fine Art photographers in Northchapel have a flair for the dramatic and always looking for the artistic side when composing and staging their photos, often using different filters, including black and white.

Vintage Style Photography

Vintage style photography has partly evolved as a result of vintage photo filter popularity. The number of weddings that are being photographed with a vintage wedding theme in mind, seems to be steadily growing. With vintage images there is certainly a timeless quality that can stir nostalgic emotion, which may be the cause of such an increase in the appeal of this artistic style. Vintage photography done well in Northchapel, transforms ordinary images into artistic work of art using colour filters and various props and lighting tricks.

Traditional or Classical

In traditional or classical photography, each moment is captured as if it staged and a portrait, rather than spontaneous and ad hoc as they might seem. This won’t make the photograph appear forced or posed, but it’s likely that few spontaneous ëaction shotsí will be included in the mix. The aim of traditional photography is to capture moments with dignity and artistry, using many posed shots, including many formal images, under a range of lighting options.

Photojournalistic or Reportage

This style of photography is less about orchestrating and creating moments to capture on camera, than reporting those special moments of the day. With this type of photography, you’ll get the happy shots of guests together during the day, as well as more spontaneous and candid photos; the obligatory group shots and the formal bride and groom photos will of course also be included. The photo journalistic photographer tends not to orchestrate moments and poses but would rather look to capture the genuinely spontaneous action and close up reactions of guests and the wedding couple.

Black and White (Monochrome)

This can be an effective way to present classic, timeless images. Black-and-white photos are appreciated by many for their ability to enhance the mood and atmosphere of the scene being depicted. It really comes down to what you prefer. Not everyone prefers monochrome images, but there’s no doubt that photographs can be made more compelling by emphasising areas of focus and the composition with this method. Sometimes colour can fail to portray the atmosphere of a photo, where monochrome techniques can really bring it to life.

Colour Popped and HDR Techniques

When shooting pictures, this photography technique requires attention to detail and the ability to consider various different elements and this complexity continues into the editing stage. The users of HDR and colour popped photography techniques, carefully choose the scenes they shoot in order to create images that are striking, with vibrant colours which draw the viewersí attention to a particular area of the image.
