Why Wedding Photography Is Important?

Planning your wedding day in Durfold-Wood is an involved process and hiring a wedding photographer may not initially be at the top of your priority list.

However, it’s definitely something that deserves some prioritisation. It needs to be budgeted for and thought of well ahead of your special day in Durfold-Wood. It’s not always easy to capture those precious moments, so you need a wedding photographer with talent, experience and the right equipment to do your special event justice. Your wedding photos and your wedding album will come out in the future with friends, family, children and grandchildren to help you tell the story of the day.

The photos of your wedding will rekindle memories as you look through them over and over again. After your wedding day in Durfold-Wood, you’re unlikely to be wearing your dress and shoes again, the flowers will be cleared away and all the cake will be eaten. but the photographs of your wedding will always be with you to share, enjoy, laugh and maybe cry over. So please take the time to find the right professional!

Why you should hire a pro-photographer for your wedding day.

If your wedding day is just around the corner, then you have probably planned most of what you need to plan. You’ve planned the catering side of things, chosen the cake and booked the venue. Your wedding dress is getting its final alterations, your flowers are all on order and the decorations and table centrepieces are all in hand.

You are now thinking about capturing the precious memories of your big day as photographic images. Perhaps you are considering the option of asking a relative to bring their amateur photography skills to your wedding.

It wouldn’t cost you anything and you can save yourself some money to budget for other things. You should definitely not go down this path.

Your wedding photos should be entrusted to a professional wedding photographer

The savings you make by using an amateur photographer are not worth the risk you are taking of being left with poor quality images to look back on. Remember, some special moments happen only once in a lifetime, yet the photos will stay with you forever.

The benefits of having a professional wedding photographer

Hiring a professional wedding photographer in Durfold-Wood means you will be left with pictures of the best quality, created using the best skills and equipment available.

As well as a wealth of knowledge and experience, wedding photographers in Durfold-Wood have access to premium photography equipment and software to enable them to capture the best wedding pictures possible.

The physical equipment such as cameras, is just part of the equation in terms of capturing the best photographic images. Camera phones are pretty amazing these days and many people are tempted to try and save money by using them for their wedding photos. This might be a huge mistake. We know everyone wants the best possible photos they can get for their wedding. Let me explain a bit more about how a wedding photographer in Durfold-Wood can add value to your photos and why it’s worth paying for them.

Experts with their camera gear and a host of external factors, such as weather conditions. A photographer won’t be able to do the best job possible if they don’t have the lighting options or lenses they need, or the skill to use them. Professional wedding photographers normally bring to the table a lot more skill, knowledge and equipment that they can use. A DSLR camera can be purchased by anyone almost certainly, but the full potential of this camera can only be unlocked by experienced professionals. Both the camera equipment and the photographer are equally important in creating and capturing great photos. Ideally, you want to go for high end gear, as well as an expert photographer who has the knowledge and expertise in using that equipment optimally. The lighting available at your venue, in the church and outside the church or in any other outdoor setting will vay markedly; it takes skill and appreciation to consistently take great photos in different lighting situations.

Photographerís Roles

Another very good reason to engage the services of a professional wedding photographer in Durfold-Wood is that theyíre going to be far less likely to become distracted than a family member or relative charged with capturing the dayís event. The role of the professional photographer is very clearly defined, whereas a family member will likely want to get involved in the celebrations where possible.

A professional photographer wonít be tempted to chat with guests, grab a quick beer, or be first in line for cake when they should be taking an important shot. Theyíll be concentrating on the job in hand, candidly capturing some of the best images they can for the duration of the event.

Wedding guests are also far more likely to respond to a professional, paid wedding photographer than they would be to a relative barking orders. When family members organise a photo session, or an ad hoc photo opportunity, thereís a different dynamic to when a photographer sets up a professional shoot.

The Photographic Style

In order to attain photos with a specific style, you need to engage a professional wedding photographer with the style to match. If you asked the majority of amateur photographers what the difference is between fine art, contemporary, traditional or photojournalistic photography styles, most wouldnít have a clue.

Can an amateur really deliver the pictures that are going to inspire you forever? In many cases, they will not have the skills to do so. Have a long think about this and make sure your wedding photographerís style is in sync with yours. Once you have in mind what you want to achieve, hire a professional who gets it.

Communication and Reliability

There are numerous other factors that contribute to a professional photographer being a better choice than an amateur photographer or enthusiast. A professional photographer brings a lot of experience of weddings to the table and can help you to stay on track with the schedule and find the right balance between getting things done and blending into the background.

A professional photographer will be able to communicate effectively with your guests and keep the photo sessions flowing, by effectively getting people where they need to be. They will have a smooth touch, using body language, cues and verbal commands to get things done while keeping the positive atmosphere of your big day in Durfold-Wood. Getting the perfect picture often involves striking a balance between being distant, but also being encouraging and supportive, humorous and amateurs rarely have the skills to do it.

Professional Wedding Photographers Provide More

Of all the people around you on your wedding day, your wedding photographer will probably be with you most. The wedding photographer will take preamble shots at the start of the day, shots at the venue, pictures at the reception and perhaps even pictures as you leave the venue at the end of the day.

Your photographer remains constantly around you, having been hired to capture every memory and every moment without being noticed. If theyíre good at their job, youíll hardly notice theyíre there. The photographer is the one who notices every detail out of place such as lipstick stains on the teeth, or wonky button holes etc.

Their detailed focus will help you fix any little issues and get better photos. Your wedding planner will spend far less time with you during the day in Durfold-Wood than your photographer will. The photographer will help the wedding party and guests be where they need to be and help to calm any emotions.

A Patient Demeanor

Itís really important that you hire a wedding photographer that puts you at ease. This is a person you are going to be around a great deal on one of the most special days of your life. That decision needs to feel right.

The professional photographer must have a great deal of patience, empathy, technical skill and great communication skills. They need to go with the flow and be able to make your personality shine brightly on your special day in Durfold-Wood. A professional will remain calm and in control even when things donít always go exactly to plan. A good wedding photographer will remain professional at all times and will be flexible, flowing and adapting to changing circumstances.

Your Wedding Photographer and What to Expect?

For a lot of wedding couples, their wedding day is the first time a professional wedding photographer has their camera lens pointed at them. As well as being anxious about the big day, having a camera pointed at you all day can make you feel even more uncomfortable, especially if you feel that photos donít generally flatter you.

If you have spent a bit of time selecting the right wedding photographer for you, the photographer in Durfold-Wood will do a few things in order to make the process better.

Do you need a quality, friendly and relaxed professional photographer for your Wedding? Give me call today.

Professional Conduct and Prompt Time Keeping

You can be reassured that the photographer will be professional by researching their reputation, their previous work and their passion for what they do. Itís important that the wedding photographer you choose gets there on time, has a great attitude and gets on with people. Your photographer should get to your wedding venues earlier than the guests so that they can get a feel for the environment; they will probably have been to some of the venues already in order to understand the limitations and possibilities.

Wedding Rehearsals

If you plan to have a church ceremony, then itís customary to have a rehearsal a day or a week before. Your photographer may want to attend this to check the location and to have a brief discussion with the Vicar about where to stand during the service. With civil ceremonies, the photographers will normally have a discussion with the registrar prior to the wedding starting in Durfold-Wood.

The Wedding

Your wedding photographer will tend to arrive to take photos of the bridal presentations, the timings will have been agreed. He will stay with you for the entire day and will mirror you through the day without interrupting. Jeff Woodall photographyís ethos is to be very subtle, at staying in the background without interrupting the day, but being available to keep spirits high and answer any difficult questions, making sure that every single memory is captured in digital format. Itís crucial to the team at Jeff Woodall photography that every precious memory is captured on camera and that we remain unobtrusive, so the day can play out naturally; we are of course available for any questions and we strive to raise the spirits of everyone in the party.

Your wedding photographer will have a discussion with you sometime after the first dance to find out if you need any more precious moments captured. The backup process will begin once your photographer has completed their work. Jeff Woodall does a full backup of the wedding images, to separate hard drives, which will be kept in a safe place on his photo editing suite, where theyíll remain until all the wedding photographs have been completely edited and delivered to you. We never underestimate the value of your photographs.

The Editing of Wedding Photographs

Editing the images is an important part of preparing your wedding photography package, completed in the days after the wedding event in Durfold-Wood. To tell the story of the wedding day the pictures need to capture the moments and so the first stage is going through all the photos and picking the best ones. Every selected photograph is edited using a light touch approach with only a few subtle edits.

The images that are captured by Jeff Woodall photography are always crisp and sharp. The pictures that require a little work are edited for colour balance and size. Some images will be converted to black and white and may have other styles applied as appropriate.

Once through the editing process, the images are exported to both USB and an online password protected gallery, for viewing by everyone that you want to give access. If you want to share access to your wedding photos on your own online gallery, weíll give you instructions on how to do so, as well as providing a high-definition backup of all your photos on a USB stick.

Helping clients down the line

We know that you may want to put your photos in wedding photo books or maybe looking for a special wedding album and Jeff Woodall photography will be available to discuss how best to present your images after the wedding. Even if you’ve set your mind to the style and design of your digital photo book album, it can take a bit of time after the wedding day to decide on which photos to include.

You’ll probably be asked to pick your favorite 80 photographs that depict the story of your day and you can ask your photographer any questions to guide you on this. Your photographer then begins the design work to create your stunning album.

What is normally included in packages for wedding photography

To find out more about what wedding packages normally include. Some of the details are given, others you may need to pay careful attention to. Which events the photographer should attend.

You need to decide whether you want the photographer at your engagement party and bridal shower, whether the photographer stays for the after-party and of course what time he arrives at the wedding ceremony. This would equate to how many days the photographer provides to you and will be early on in the decision-making process. You need to communicate which events you want captured to get them in the diary.

The shoot duration in Durfold-Wood

Generally, a photographer will use time as one of the main methods to price an assignment. I often use this for portrait and events but in terms of weddings, I have simplified the process to a large extent, due to the flexible nature of the day and the fact that each wedding is quite different and difficult to predict in terms of exact timings.

Photographers often [I used to] have different packages in Durfold-Wood i.e. ëPlatinumí, ëGoldí, ëSilverí, ëBronzeí, etc. It all gets quite complicated, especially if different photo album packages are also added to the mix. I now offer a full day for a fixed price. Obviously, I’m not going to give hours of my time for free, but I’m happy to arrive early to get some shots, or stay after the first dance if there’s extra photos that need to be captured. We know you don’t want to have an extra hour billed after the event, just because your schedule fell behind and the eight hours you paid for in the ëSilver packageí didn’t cover the full day. If your wedding destination is a long way away, weíll need to negotiate expenses for accommodation, flights, fuel and food.

Wedding photography Services List

Below is a summary list of wedding photography services :

Some of the differences between wedding styles explained

Fine Art Photography

Fine art photographers normally steer clear of too many traditional shots, in the same way that photojournalistic photographers do. Rather, they photograph with an appreciation for the artistic side of people, the lighting options and the overall drama of the scene. The Fine Art photographer in Durfold-Wood is adept in the use of black and white photography and at producing less candid, beautifully composed photos, full of drama and artistic beauty.

Vintage Style Photography

Vintage photo filters have become quite popular over the last decade and has resulted in more demand for this style of photography. The number of weddings that are being photographed with a vintage wedding theme in mind, seems to be steadily growing. This style of photography can bring with it an ageless, timeless quality and has the power to stir emotions and maybe this is why more and more people are seeing the appeal in it. Vintage photography in Durfold-Wood is regarded as almost an art form, where the ordinary is transformed into stunning evocative images using colour filters and specialist lighting.

Traditional or Classical

Seemingly spontaneous and ad hoc moments often tend to actually be taken as posed portraits with traditional or classical photography. With this style of photography, you are likely to get more static images than spontaneous flowing, action shots, although the images you get won’t feel overly staged. Traditional photographers will want to capture precious moments and formalities with artistic style and integrity and will look for shots that will work using that style during the wedding ceremony.

Photojournalistic or Reportage

This style involves the recording of events as opposed to the staging of them. With this type of photography, you’ll get the happy shots of guests together during the day, as well as more spontaneous and candid photos; the obligatory group shots and the formal bride and groom photos will of course also be included. The photojournalistic wedding photographer tells the story of the day, using a mix of close-up and candid shots, showing spontaneous reaction and recording the atmosphere of the event , rather than orchestrating the scenes.

Black and White (Monochrome)

This style is excellent for timeless, classical, emotion-packed photographs. Many clients appreciate how the nostalgia and mood of images can be enhanced by removing colour. It really comes down to what you prefer. Monochrome images aren’t always liked by everybody, but using this style can really draw attention to particular aspects of the sceneís composition and subject matter. Sometimes colour can fail to portray the atmosphere of a photo, where monochrome techniques can really bring it to life.

Colour Popped and HDR Techniques

Attention to detail during the shoot and excellent editing skills are required for this type of photography technique. The photographer chooses the appropriate moment with which to use these techniques, finally skillfully uses the right processing software to produce quality images with colours that pop and emphasises particular areas of a scene.
